StratoLauncher IV Standard Water Rocket Kit

The StratoLauncher® IV Standard Kit launches rockets with StratoFins, homemade fins, Fluorescent Tube Cover (FTC) rockets, gliders, and water rocket race cars (commercial or homemade) due to the nozzle it works with almost anything. Also, the StratoLauncher® IV Standard can be upgraded to a Deluxe and/or Ultimate enabling the use of a tank sprayer to fuel the rocket while on the launchpad. Once upgraded it can be connected together creating a multi-launcher system that uses a single water and single air source for convenience and efficiency for classes and a large group of participants such as STEM events. Great video! On Rocket Race car, how much water did you filled the bottle with?

Thank you for your compliments. When used as a rocket it only takes about 1 cup of water. However, as a rocket car you can add a lot more water. The extra weight helps to stabilize the car and it essentially needs to be at a level that is slightly above the nozzle hole so that the compressed air doesn't escape before the water does. The compressed air pushes out the water and makes the car go. The real secret for the water rocket car is that you pressurize at a low PSI 20 is probably plenty or it will spin out. It takes a bit of experimenting and adding weigh to the car is very helpful so that it doesn't launch out or jump.

The long overdue altimeter video is in the works. I still have some scenes to shoot, but hopefully I will be releasing an altimeter video in the next month or two. We have added an altimeter mount on our website that works very well to mount it just above the opening of the bottle with an included 8" cable tie. It is secure and records the altitude accurately without any suction effect, which often occurs when mounted in the nose cone.
