There is not going to be a Frozen 3. At the end of Frozen 2, Anna asks Elsa something to the effect of, "So what do you think our next adventure is going to be?" Elsa replies, "No, No. We're finished."

What I think is that this is no where near a new development. She always had these powers, just in a weak way. Even in the first movie, she was able to do things that weren't supposed to be possible for an ice user. She was able to melt her own ice and despite creating snow, there was no way it should've blown around like that unless there was a blizzard. But she could create snow, not a blizzard. There isn't much with earth that I can think of, but it doesn't seem like a coincidence
I like Elsa more in this movie, she's actually like a superhero. Especially near the end when she stops the sea flooding Arendelle, that was just awesome and heroic.

She is also the bridge btw humans and spirits.

Indeed, and that's kind of the point, literally, as inside of her human form Elsa is an elemental nature spirit, like some kind of fairy or angel, which is why she has powers. At times she seems more like a goddess, though, given her power level and how she is presented.
This is actually a good move by the writers so that anna isn't overshadowed by elsa in a royalty type role...
Plus, elsa has always looked like she expresses herself a lot more freely when she's alone, than when there's another person on screen... It shows that elsa is really suited with nature than being a queen after all...
A SNOW Queen to be exact. As the 5th nature spirit, Elsa is basically the Peacemaker of the spirits to ensure no conflict rises.

Anna looked so regal and mature in her coronation dress at the end of the movie as well! Both of the sister’s “final transformations” took my breath away
I got goosebumps with how much Anna looked like her mother at the end, especially since at the beginning of the movie, I thought Elsa looked more like her mother. I think it's the eyes and hair when it's braided like that. That and the fact that Anna has darker hair.

Ikr when I saw her freezing I was like "Looks like the cold bothers her now." 😂
It wasn't so much that it bothered her. It's that she felt so guilty for her grandfather's deception, that it overwhelmed her. Though why she should feel guilty is beyond me. It was her grandfather's sin, not hers. Anna had the right idea. If the dam is the source of the rift between the Arendellians and the forest folk (sorry, my brain froze), get rid of it. Interesting life lesson there. If there is something difficult in your past (whether you are responsible or not), you can either let guilt from it overwhelm you. Or you can deal with it.
@@ericbrower611 Well I know one Disney character who overcame guilt: Simba from the Lion King. Simba felt that he was the cause of his father Mufasa's death, but in the end, he had the courage to go back and confront his fear.....and it turned out he DIDN'T cause Mufasa death.
This is what frozen 2 had to do: Anna broken a dam almost flooded arendell, Anna is married, Elsa’s hair is white sphere skin is more white her dress is white, Frozen’s 2 colour is black,orange,purple,white!

Real talk, though....... seeing her grandfather explains SO MUCH about her father's way of dealing with her powers.
Like, he loves her and is accepting of the situation, but because his father hated magic so much, he's fearful of his/other people's opinions.
I think they didn't hate her powers, but their idea that control means shutting them down is actually the opposite of control. I never got the impression that he was too worried about what others thought, though that might have driven it.

I'm talking about Elsa's dad's dad, King Runeard, how he hated magic because he feared it. Which is why he built the damn........to weaken the magic the Northuldra used and relied on.
And Agnarr DID care what people would think. Because of his father's fear and hatred of magic, he was scared other people would fear and hate it, too. Which is why they closed the doors and even separated Anna from Elsa.

I think they isolated the two sisters more for Anna's safety than worrying about her actually hating Elsa's magic, since Anna always loved Elsa's magic when she DID know about it.
@@karigana yes, Anna was separated because of Agnarr's fear she would be hurt. Fear that was instilled in him by his own father. Which is also why Iduna hid her relationship with magic and who she really was, until before they boarded the ship (as seen in Frozen II).
I also wonder if he wasn't a bit afraid that if she didn't control her powers (and minimize them as much as possible) she would eventually be overcome by them and turn on Arendelle. That's what his father told him; that magic makes people think they can defy the will of a king, that people with magic can't be trusted. Since his father died in the war (he started) he believed what his father said would happen, happened (even though it didn't); that the Northuldra, influenced by magic, turned on Arendelle and attacked them so when his first born had magic he must have been very apprehensive...
I cried when elsa has revealed the memory at the Island and she started crying when she saw her mother ...the song really and the scene really hits me

Their mother still had a secret. She was the most ancient family among her people. And in the past that Elsa made, she saw her mother about to reveal her secret to her father. I wonder what it is actually. Why her scarf is unique though.

I think the secret is her mother's connection to the spirits, as one scene that has a flashback you see her call the wind spirit for help. The scarf is unique with having the symbols of the spirits and the fifth spirit. That's just my thoughts though. I wonder if there will be a frozen 3 🤔, especially what the plot will be.

Her secret was that she was the one bat saved him and her connection to the spirits. so it’s not really a secret since we know it.
Maybe she was the 5th element before but past her powers down to Elsa when she was born, it would explain why the voice led Elsa to her mothers image in the glacier. Maybe her mother was going back to the Forrest to appease the spirits and convince them to let her take them back( the powers) so that Elsa would no longer be a danger to Arendelle, because she already knew how to control them.
Frozen 2 had gave me that feeling wherein I just want to keep the replay button on and let the songs play over and over again.
The songs are much better in this movie than in the first one, especially " Show yourself ".

Give it a month or two and you'll be begging for the hype to fade. But it wasn't until almost a year after that I could listen to Frozen without wanting to skip the songs. I ended up watching the first movie the night before seeing Frozen 2, and Let it Go really hit me. The sound track for this movie was amazing.
Elsa is not a princess, or a queen she is like a goddess type so you dont wanna mess with her if you mess with her your messing with all the spirits.

Vanessa Gonzalez yeah, Elsa became the 5th element whether she shared that title with her sister or not, like all the other elements her powers, abilities and new wisdom puts her at the goddess level, she is more like an all powrful deity now. Although she probably does answer to the spirits and is not immortal, after all they were the ones that granted her those powers at birth.
@@dylancole1910 Elsa only answers to the "spirits" as in ancient, primordial deities such as the North Wind (the source of coldness, cold magic, and the Voice) that together comprise Nature. The North Wind created both Ahtohallan ("Where the North Wind meets the sea") and Elsa herself. It's like how in Greek mythology there are primordial deities such as Gaia (the Earth) and Uranus (the Sky), which created the titans, who created the human-like gods of Olympus. The sentient animal-like elemental spirits (Gale, Bruni, the Nøkk, and the Earth Giants) are more like Elsa, and they answer to her, the sentient and sapient Unity Goddess (incarnate), as I call her because her symbol is called the unity symbol within Disney Animation.
As for whether Elsa is immortal, how do we know? I bet that most people presume that Bruni is immortal, even though he has the physical body of a salamander, so why can't Elsa be immortal? We just don't know because the movie offers no clues, at least as far as I'm aware.

I didn't realize but I actually love how they're incorporating classic mythological creatures and creating a new universe for them. This feels very Avengers and I'm loving the hint the creators are giving us.

@@lnak7411 I think mostly because she thinks she can stay at Elsa's side at every moment even when it's clear that Elsa has to do certain things on her own? But in the second movie that also happens because, if I remember correctly, they decided to give her some symptoms of a dependent personality, based on some experience Kristen Bell herself had with it; in fact, Anna's turning point comes when she realizes both Elsa and one of her best friends are dead and she's completely crushed inside but she realizes she still has to go ahead to make the next right thing; so yeah, you could say Anna still has some issues she brings with herself from the first movie, but also character develops around them

It wasn’t the cold that was bothering her! It was the memories that were putting a shock on her back! Causing her to be exposed to too much of the past which because of that she froze.
❄️Show Yourself is a masterpiece in every way: Elsa’s transformation, touching moment, amazing music and incredible animation. Glad they made this video to clarify some things.

We also have to take this into consideration that the whole Autumn forest is now tundra.. That Means Elsa presence made it so cold that the whole forest got transformed even the Earth Giants had snow on them.. which is so cool.. and She literally froze the entire Dark Sea! (Not entirely but you get what I'm saying..) So she must be REALLY strong. Like a Goddess.
Actually, I believe the change was not because of Elsa's presence but simply because winter came. Remember that the movie is set on Autumn so I believe it's just to show that time has passed.

Elsa didn't freeze because of her guilt, she froze because she went too far into the river. Like the song says, "dive down deep into [the river's] sound, but not too far or you’ll be drowned." The river was frozen, so instead of drowning she froze.
Suiyou well duh. But throughout both frozen movies you see elsas constant guilt and her always taking the blame for things. You could say it’s her own emotions that caused these to happen (like when she felt guilty for arondale freezing in the first one and hit Ana in the heart after she was trying to convince her to come back). It is often that elsas emotions get into her head. But that’s where Ana and Elsa differ, we can see Ana pushing brought her negative emotions and showing her true strength

Mulan 2 was actually really good. Pocahontas 2 is...a whole other basket of bread.
Lime Vine : Watch Disney + the making of Frozen II. It explains a lot about how this film breaks the curse of bad sequels. Two main reasons: (1) the creators went through a process where they got a LOT of feedback from other writers/directors, etc. each step of the way and kept editing it till it worked-a lot of the time the first movie is given that kind of care, but not the second one. This time the second one got MORE of that than the first one. (2) The creators took their time. They didn’t rush out a sequel. A lot of bad sequels come out too fast to cash in on the success of the first. This extra time paid off.

I wish each spirit or element would have been a human with the powers but I feel like it would’ve been too close to The Last Airbender
Well the original ability to bend elements isn't human as well in that lore. So it's really close to the Avatar universe, but it's still really different. Great job by the writers.
The only reason elsa is human is because of iduna her mother her powers and spiritual status were given to her by the four elemental spirits but note as the fifth spirit she is supposed to control and harness the power of all four spirits but that might give the plot for FROZEN 3!
In the Avatar world the lion-turtles gave elemental powers to humans. Avatar Wan was the first Avatar. He fused with Rava to become a demigod. That made him the bridge. I like to think that in the near future Avatar (insert name of Kristoff and Anna's kid) will be born. Yeah, they got pretty close to Avatar: The Last Air-bender world building.

I always had a feeling that Elsa's power was an amazing gift she has, and finding out that she's the Fifth Spirit of the Enchanted Forest and being able to tame the other four elements, it makes her even more amazing and awesome.
Powerful:
Elsa: the "Fifth Sprirt" and steward of nature.
Anna: the "Queen of Arendelle" and steward to the living creatures in nature.
Unstoppable:
Elsa/Anna: "The Bridge" born as a gift by the powerful spirits needed to end the curse all as a rewarded to their parents (particularly the mother) showing love, understanding, and mercy vs division and hate.
Writing that made me think how opposite the mother reacted and went vs traditional tales. Basically an outside group came in, your tribe welcomes them, then attacks your tribe, than you are by accident become the last of your tribe and stuck in the kingdom of your enemy. What do you do?
Other characters in stories: make a vow of revenge against the blood of the royal family and their kingdom.
Mother: save the enemy side's prince's life, don't hold grudges, survive in that new land/kingdom cut off from my tribe and home, in time fall in love with the prince honestly who doesn't know you saved him in the past, and eventually have two wonderful girls that unknown to even me is "The Bridge" that will love and unite: people, nature, and differences plus end the curse.
I have a strong feeling that Elsa and Anna's parent is still alive. Lets see if Disney might reveal it on Frozen 3.

Here's my theory about Frozen 2. 🙂
First the facts from the movie:
* The 5th spirit's symbol was woven into the pattern on the scarf that Elsa/Anna's mother (Queen Iduna) used to wear that was made by the Northuldra tribe long before Elsa was born. Even though Elsa is the 5th Spirit, the 5th spirit also predates the birth of Elsa.
* The lady tells Elsa that some say they heard the 5th spirit call out the day the Forrest fell. Iduna called out to the wind spirit the day the Forrest fell.
* Iduna’s notes on the map theorizes that Ahtohallan is the source of Elsa (Elsa’s magic).
* That nursery rhyme ("All Is Found") was passed down from Elsa/Anna's maternal grand-mother to Elsa/Anna's mother (Queen Iduna) to Elsa/Anna.
* This song (lyrics here: www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/idinamenzel/allisfound.html ) talks about a river to the north called "Ahtohallan" and adds "Where the north wind meets the sea, There's a mother full of memory". Later, that "mother" who meets Elsa is Elsa's actual literal mother, Queen Iduna.
* The song's lyrics implies someone has been there before and experienced these memories before.
* When Elsa arrives at "Ahtohallan", it's a massive ice fortress (that she has to partially repair to enter). This ice fortress has similarities to Elsa's ice fortress from Frozen 1.
* We find out that child Iduna (a Northuldra) was the one who saved child Agnarr (Elsa/Anna's King father) with the help of the wind spirit. Iduna summoned the wind spirit by calling out the "ah ah ah!" melody... the same melody that has been calling Elsa to the north (to "Ahtohallan") during the whole movie.
* Also when Elsa arrives at "Ahtohallan" she sees many memories, including memories of her mother... but then her mother joins her (live) in singing a duet.
* Iduna is from the Northuldra, and Elsa (after discovering she's the 5th spirit) feels called to also live there (like her mother and maternal grandmother did). The Northuldra have a strong belief in a connection between humans and nature... which is kind of what the 5th spirit's purpose is.
Here's my theory:
* The 5th spirit is somewhat like the Avatar, but instead of being passed down to random people in cycling earth-water-fire-air bending tribes, the 5th spirit is passed down through the maternal lineage and others of Elsa's maternal ancestors have had Elsa's powers and also visited "Ahtohallan" and likewise seen memories and wrote the song to pass this information down to their descendants. The Northuldra themselves may be the descendants of that maternal 5th spirit lineage.
* The 5th spirit is able to communicate to past mothers similar to the way the Avatar is able to communicate to past incarnations of Avatar. Elsa was literally singing a duet with the spirit of her mother. The "ah ah ah!" melody that calls to Elsa is literally her mother's spirit calling out to her from "Ahtohallan" - hence the joyful tearful reunion when Elsa finally arrives. 🙂
I also wonder if this 5th spirit "mother" could be symbolic of "Mother Earth".
Also, I wonder if the larger-perspective "5th spirit" delivered Elsa's message to Anna while Elsa was frozen... and also preserve Olaf's memory-snow in a pile (with the symbolic purple flowers?) until Elsa could restore him later.

I love this movie a lot more than the first one tbh (not that the first one was bad, I still do like it). One of the reasons would probably be the satisfying sense of closure for Elsa's inner mental struggle and guilt and anxiety and also development in Anna as someone who has tried to cling onto the people closest to her her whole life.
Another reason would be the fact we got to see more action with Elsa's powers. We saw her potential and what she can do. By becoming the fifth spirit, she did technically become the ruler of the spirits, the bridge, queen, goddess, etc. If a third movie or a spinoff ever gets released in the future, I would love to see her fight as the fifth spirit but I am satisfied with the way the movie ended!
I LOVED seeing her tame the Nokk and Bruni. This movie definitely showed us more of her badass side and what she can do with just her hands, her feet, and determination. But of course, it also showed that as powerful as she can be, she needs someone who can support her if she ever needs help: Anna.
Btw thank you sm for this breakdown. I loved seeing Elsa's powers in action in the movie and how she gained more control over them because she has come to accept and love herself!

Elsa with her hair down is just amazing. Her new look makes her look so gorgeous. I took my 7 year old to watch this and I have to say this was better than the first. We enjoyed it so much.
I loved this movie! Both Elsa and Anna grew up both physically and emotionally. I was surprised to see Elsa return to nature and leave Anna in charge of Arendelle but not surprised that they continue their relationship with weekly visits.

She felt more confident as her power shows, she’s amazing and more in control. Seeing the past with her powers is one that kept me sentimental but yet is what make her stronger.
I am really sad ..elsa isn't anymore "Queen Elsa of Arendelle"...but love how she has become much more than that..a superhero,the fifth spirit..especially in that.. "flood crushing towards arendelle scene"😍....now I badly want frozen 3... : (..really want a villain as powerful as Elsa🤭

I find it wonderful that Anna got to become the Queen. She’s underrated to me and it was satisfying since ever since I was a kid I felt that she deserved better. Oh and did everyone else predict almost everything in the movie. I feel like they put way to much hints for all the mysteries

Anna and Elsa were awesome in Frozen 2!!! Elsa was so badass and powerful braving the waves and riding the horse! And Anna proved you don't need powers to be brave and make the right choices.

I would like to see Anna develop some kind of her own magical abilities that will mold her into a new character on future movie installments. Since it is still questionable why Anna has no powers like her older sister.
Actually is not that questionable. They say in the movie that Elsa's powers are a gift to her mother. That explains why Anna does not have power because it is not from genetics they are a gift for the firstborn
I think Anna just takes after her Dad. Red hair, kingcraft, social. Elsa’s mom was from an isolated tribe and knew how to temper the magic of the forest elements.
But this second movie explains why Anna doesn't. Isn't the point is that she's the "other side of the bridge - the human non magical side, she's gifted with the human spirit(Never giving up). And her sister Elsa was gifted with natures magic together they make a force unstoppable but they both need each other to be that force. it's the two sides coming together (as sisters). Anna's "powers" are within the human spirit. She didn't hesitate to sacrifice herself in the first movie. And in the second movie after she feels as though she has lost too much she still takes one step a time to move forward. Where as when Elsa lost Anna in the first movie she just cried and was beside herself. Anna is Elsa's greatest strength.
The fifth element is a blend between the human world and the magic world. Elsa is the magic half of it Anna is the human part of it
It think it would be fun if Anna has powers. IMO thou. But I am guessing that she can not control her powers due to abundance of carelessness. LOL. Anyways, there are a lot of possibilities that may come up in the third movie. The second was really great. :)

Thank you for getting the length of the time jump correct- 3 years since the events of Frozen 1. Everyone else keeps saying it was 6 years later, but actually Anna says its been 6 years since their parents died, and Elsa's coronation was 3 years after their death.

I personally would love to see that there is an ancient Dark Force group - similar to Hydra that is out there trying to harness magic and other things so that they can control and rule the planet. The dark forces actually recruited their grandfather to be a part of them as they also did the Duke of Weselton.
Now that Anna is Queen they might try to recruit her tempting her with powers of her own... Or a story that ties into other Norse mythology that involves Odin's own father or even Odin but before Thor and Loki.
And then eventually we'd see origin franchises of the elements giving birth to the frozen cinematic universe. Dang.

Elsa is just so awesome in Frozen 2! To be honest, I thought a lot about Elsa's freezing and her powers and I felt confused when trying to explain it after watching the movie. After watching your video, it helped me understand so much more and stop worrying. It made me love both Frozen movies so much more!

I also thought the reason elsa had powers was that nature respected her mother and trusted her and her kindness to be the right person to raise the 5th spirit, not so much that it was a gift, more that they saw someone they trusted with the power
I agree about Gale, I interpreted it as the spirit was shaping the wind and ice into visions to try and communicate and she happened to flash-freeze those visions into place
