- IRejuvenating wilting tired looking cut roses at home. Tricks and tips of the trade.
Roses are very delicate flowers, as indeed all bush flowers with lignified stems. You can often hear from people that roses did not stand in a vase or wilted almost immediately after they were bought or hung their heads after they were arranged and placed in a vase of water. There is an easy way to revive wilted roses. The reason for dehydration is often mistakes in care, when the stems or tips of roses are not cut off properly before being placed in a vase and therefore the intra-stem pressure that ensures the rise of water does not work, since pockets with air appear inside the stem that do not allow water to rise up. The second reason for the violation of water permeability is pathogenic bacteria that begin to develop rapidly on the dying cut. Therefore, for successful rehabilitation, it is necessary to completely remove the dead tissue of the stem where pathogenic bacteria develop, then making a deep incision into the stem of the roses to significantly increase the suction surface, you need to put the flowers in very warm water of 45-50 degrees Celsius. Temperature is a catalyst for biochemical processes and accelerates processes. It is necessary to add floral food to the water, it provides nutrition to the stem at the same time inhibits pathogenic microorganisms. If there is no floral food, then you can do it yourself by replacing it with sugar and a teaspoon of citric acid or sodium hypochlorite NaClO. It is important at the end of dehydration rehabilitation to stop the dehydration process itself. How to do it? It is necessary to spray water from a spray over the entire surface of the flowers and place in a room with a lower temperature. Heat from below, cold and moisture from above is the secret. Flowers will surely recover within a few hours. This method can be applied without exception to all flowers, it works especially well for woody bush flowers such as hydrangea, lilac and others.
Recipe: For two litres of water 1 teaspoon of bleach plus tablespoon of sugar. Instead of bleach you can use 2-4 tablets of 500 mg of aspirin or teaspoon of lemon acid.#flowersdiy #roses #revival #flowershop #flowermaking #flowerscake

Amen! I'm here tryna save my valentines day roses too! 😂❤
I'm here to save my flowers too♥️
me too hahaha!
Me too 😂😂
Lol im gonna do this for my girls flowers tryna save them for her she asleep with our son rn lol
Folks, this works! I watched it and then I tried in one of the roses I have in a vase. You will not believe it. I was given them on Jan 31st. I did this same thing as shown in the video, the rose is like new again! Then I look at the spot where I cut it. Do you believe if I tell you that it is completely healed?! Where I cut with the knife is completely gone! It is like the rose was born again.
I am in awe! Thank you very much. I will do the same in the other roses and I am sure they will be like just brought from a garden!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💞💖💞💞💞
UPDATE: the roses are still alive and doing good! (FEB. 17TH 2021)
Absolutely amazing! Love how we get to see the change in time lapse...
Thank you so I love roses and I hated losing their beauty so quickly, I am excited to use this tip immediately. Also thank you for explaining everything so scientifically.
I’m doing this today with my roses. Thank you!
Another fantastic video! So glad I found you. I'm ordering bulk flowers for my wedding. My trial flowers were dehydrated, and I'm thankful I have a solution now.
I love your voice, its very mom like and makes me comfortable trying to take care of my flowers even though I have noooo idea what I'm doing. Thank you! 🌸🌷🌻🌹
The best UA-cam video ever!!! Thank you, thank you! It was exactly what I needed the day after Mother’s Day! ❤️
Fabulous advice thank you. I had read advice about plunging stems in boiling water adding sugar, bleach etc but never in this order or measure. Works a treat!
Always bought droopy roses at store that are marked down and never knew how to get them to perk back up or open. Thank you for the video. Now I can have pretty roses all the time :).
Textual Predator lol dumb ass
😂 LoL
@Textual Predator rather be a cheap ass than a dumbass! She’s being smart and saving money for items down the line instead of being a dumbass and blowing $20+ for a bouquet of roses 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll save money and buy the wilted ones and fix them to look like new for a third or half the price and have double sometimes even triple the amount of flowers for the price of one bouquet. So no she’s not a dumbass at all :) if anybody is it’s you for thinking she’s a dumbass
@Textual Predator Someone always gotta just be an "ass". SMH lol.
Holly Molly! Amazing time lapse showing them coming back up! Like magic! I'm impressed. Can't wait to try it.
Used this method on a deluxe rose arrangement bouquet I just bought at Kroger's for myself for the half price of $12 and it worked like a charm! 😍❤️🌹
Now I have a gorgeous arrangement that's fresh and crisp for half the cost! I'll be using this method forever! Thanks! 😁👍🌹🌼🌷❤️
Literally just did this to both of my sets of roses and I and excited to see how they come out!!!!
It worked really well for me too! I’ll be cutting mine like this first thing from now on!

I just found 75 roses in a dumpster ! I guess from Mother’s Day and they are beautiful and alive still but just to keep them longer I’m following these steps thank u I didn’t know I needed to cut them more than once
Where is that dumpster located? I want some roses too :-)
Sums up our consumerism society, nothing is appreciated.. we don't fix things anymore, we just buy and throw them away after taking few pictures!
Thank you Tiffany for your sacrifice to beautiful things..lol 😁🤗
Amazing!! Thank you for sharing this valuable information with us.
So happy I stumbled across this. I’m trying this now. It’s been about 30 mins, will take pics every hour for the next 5 hours to see if there has been any progress
Update, this did not work. Probably killed them off faster
Hahaa I did mine today too and it didn’t work it just killed them faster...🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾♀️
Thank you for this video - it worked for the beautiful rose I received that had started drooping within 4 days.
Thank you so much for sharing the tips. I always learn something new from your channel, the details you talk about. Please keep it up.
Wow!! Love the results.

Where have you been throughout my life? Lol I love the look of roses but they always seem to wilt so quickly. Can't wait to try this neat trick. Thank you
I am happy to help
It works. I am mesmerized! I will reach everybody this method.
Wow. Just did this for very expensive garden roses that started wilting. Used sugar and aspirin, garage refrigerator for the cool place and o. M. G. They are like new!!!! ❤❤
Thank you for sharing these valuable tips.
Wow what a result. Thanks for sharing.
oh Wow this is one of the most useful things I have learned on youtube! Thanks so much....
SUPER EXCITED TO TRY THIS! Also did not know they do better in cooler temps, makes sense though. 🤔
This saved my roses, thank you!
What a beautiful presentation! I loved it! Very helpful. Thank you so much😊🌹👍
Thank you! You just saved my 100 roses for valentines
I still have my Mother’s Day roses ! Love learning
this is so cool! the roses look beautiful
Great video, thanks. I was wondering if it possible to apply the same concept with bruised or browned lines on the petals. My sister has roses delivered to her that way and even pulling off the guard petals didn’t help!
Thank you for this video. I got these beautiful red Roses last week and I wanted to keep them alive as long as possible.
THIS WORKED LIKE MAGIC! I didn't have bleach or aspirin so I put vinegar instead.
THis really worked! Omg! :) thank you so much!
This a genius tuturial👏👏
I've tried just sugar or just bleach or just sugar...but didn't know combo was in need
Also never knew to actually shave stem
Thank you
I'm about to try this now!
Jane Larkey did you do it without the flower food?
Good lesson. We have been using Aspirin tablets to keep the cut roses looking fresh for many days, but this is something new. By the way, your way of using the knife scared me!
Thank you very much, I saved some beautiful orange roses.
Thank you! Wish I had seen this video way before today. 🥰
Thank you so much. Ive just done exactly what you said, let's see what they look like in the morning.
How did they look?
This was so helpful, thank you!
i think this will work now with my flower, thanks for sharing!

That’s crazy beautiful. Wow I can’t believe I never knew this 😭
Thank you for the tips!
Thanks a lot for this amazing video. Just gonna try it now with my wilted roses and see what happens. hope it works.
I tried it and nothing! My roses almost died now😔
My boyfriend gave me a dozen roses on valentine’s day and they were more wilted than it was in the video, I thought they wont survive. Thank you so much to your video, here in Philippines the weather is hot, but I followed your steps and I put 1 and a half spoon of brown sugar, 1 spoon of zonrox bleach I found in the house and hot water. I also scraped the ends of the stem. My roses are very alive, red and beautiful after 16 hours and I am more than happy 😃 thank you!
is it ok if I use white sugar?
Ur Almario yes

I will try definitely try that.
Just a beautiful video, thank you so much.
You are welcome!
WOW!! I love roses but don't like that they don't last. I received beautiful roses today, and I'm going to use your tips at the beginning with hot water, 1T sugar and ½T bleach to see if they will last longer than usual. I'm trying this because I didn't receive any food to put in the water.
New subscriber. I raise roses and want to do more this was helpful
Awesome! Thank you!
good video...can we plant the fixed rose directly into the soil? have you ever try to wait for the roots to come out during submerging in the jar?
Very nice. Thanks
WOWWW GREAT VIDEO!❤️
That is amazing thank you
Great video!
what was on the sachet? aside from stating the materials would be best to label them, too. did u put some asipirin? i never saw it. thanks
wow that is amazing.
Awesome! Thanks! Why didn’t any women in my entire life teach me this? Thanks so much! Saved Grandmas flowers. We don’t get good roses anywhere in NJ. It’s a joke.
Amazing!❤
Can we use this method for other flowers as well? I have a bouquet of different flowers with the rose together
Thank you for your video ! 🌹
Could you please make a video on growing roses from cuttings. Thanks
I recently got some Valentine’s Day flowers (set of 12) and they’ve been without water for 3 days their wilted a bit and I want to put them in a mason jar , how much water do I recommend I put?
Awesome thank you 🌹
Beautiful I’m doing my valentine Rose now as you speak an wait 5 hrs.
thats incredible ! like magic !
This really works. Thank you for sharing
Glad it helped
I always push a pin through the top of the stem to make a small hole. Always works - have done this for years, but not sure who told me. works well with tulips as well.
Do you mean right below the rose itself?
For why??? To what end? I do that with Tulips to stop the growing, it doesn’t work as they heal themselves… grrr
Wow. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! I am new to the florist business and this video was very helpful.
You are welcome and good luck!
Ok definitely trying this on my roses, only thing ots not really cool in my house, so hopefully it still works
Question - is this what Floralife Quick Dip does??? Helps the stems absorbs water? Also, the floralife crowning glory (VS Misting H2O)?
Thank you for the video help..
Thank you so much
Thaaanks it really worked 😍
If the bouquet is not wilted, should you cut the bottom as you would for the wilted or just put them in a vase? Thank you.
