It’s coming with the 3 actors from the 1st one. My only hope is that Taylor Sheridan writes it.
Really hoping Villeneuve and Deakins return. I really enjoyed Soldado but not having those two (especially Villeneuve) was obvious.
If it ever happens Villeneuve needs to come back, 2nd movie was nowhere near Empire Strikes Back quality, almost laughable compared to the first.
So glad Private Joker went on to become Secretary of State.

@@dr.mungusphd.3162 homeland security. DoD is for conflicts abroad , while terrorism against homeland, falls under homeland security. Since this secretary said the administration is adding cartels to the terrorism list, that’s why I am making a guess he is secretary of homeland security.
He was a contentious objector in Vietnam, now he’s starting wars. Amazing villain story arc.

2:40 onward, especially 2:46 onward followed by Brolins hand rub says everything. Every single person in that room knew exactly what was being asked and what could, and likely would, happen. The hand rub and the "...I'll have to get dirty" was Brolin's character accepting his mission, and his inevitable fate. If you didnt understand the movie just say so.

Underrated?! Starring roles in Sicario, Dune, No Country for Old Men, Avengers, Deadpool, Men in Black, Only the Brave etc…yeah, not so underrated.
I’m starting to think people don’t know the actual definition of “underrated”. How is he underrated? He’s Thanos!!!
I love how they are all positioned around him like he's radioactive. Because if they are ever associated with him in public, the fallout would land them in jail.
The half shrouded Mathew Moddine's face during most of the scene is just poetry. You could even say it's a callback to Casablanca's use of shadows.

The sad thing is that this is probably the most accurate portrayal i’ve seen of how our government underbelly makes decisions.
It's how every empire worked, works and will work. No exceptions. You rule with an iron fist or you beg not to get punched by it.

Matthew Modine is a brilliant actor. His screen presence has always been uncanny. Hope we see more of him.

The Brolin character needs his handlers more than they need him, and he knows it. He can’t be a loose cannon in a constraint-free environment without the government, but they can find a replacement for him in a couple of minutes.
I hear they are making a third movie. I am sure it will be of the same high standard.

Yeah it’s called predictive programming. They did the same with 9/11. It was foreshadowed in movies like the matrix and cartoons like simpsons years before the event. There’s no such thing as coincidence only consequence.

Oh, they could stomach it. They've embraced far worse. But your point is well made. When the policy or action risks becomming difficult or impossible to bury or deny, they start getting cold feet. What's accurate is the Secretary's comment about not needing to remind him of "what would happen" if it was revealed that the US was behind it. The concept of "plausible deniability" applies here.

One of the best movies we have seen recently, looking forward tae part 3 and four 🎉
Trump threatened President of Mexico he would do such a thing as labeling drug cartels as terrorists when U.S. citizens residing in Mexico were killed in transit. (Why threaten to do it? Allow U.S. military to operate in Mexico as if it was a failed state) “Sicario” movies are preternaturally prescient, or in another way of expression: life imitating art.
Looking forward to 3rd Sicario movie coming out. Interested to see what themes come out.

i have commented many many times on one particular thing: 1st , "dirty is exactly why you're here" is interesting enough,and "i dont have to remind you about what happens if they figure out its US govt" is also interesting enough;whats truly STRANGE,is that no one in that room mentions "but you cant go to war with mexican cops"- presumably because thats legit local law enforcement- that josh brolin guy KNOWS PERFECTLY WELL,IN THAT MEETING,will be an inevitable part of the war- cuz there's such corruption- and because each cop's family is in immediate danger if they dont cooperate with Cartels. Doesnt anyone think thats a damn weird thing to leave out of such a high level meeting?
