still think the campervans are far too expensive, and they will more likely fall in price than go up now for some time, the market is flooded with vans and caravans at moment too.
Definitely showing your age with the kind of furniture and setup you like😂 I will be picking up ( on part exchange ) a Eddis Evolution CV40 this week. I hope you find your Motorhome soon👍🏻
Youve said that Campervan prices have dropped to make them now affordable for people, yet there are so many of them lined up there, it's obvious people aren't buying them still. Every dealership I've walked into is rammed full of vans and no-one is buying. Very few customers. I think a lot especially those with mainly new stock will go bankrupt. And the prices I think are still too inflated. B4 COVID a 2008 van was £24k ish. They are still asking close to £30k now and those 2008 vans are now 4yrs older. A 2008 van didn't cost more than about £30k new so to get back what you paid after having bought new 16yrs ago is absurd
And there in lies the problem, baby boomers with too much money to spend. Younger people are walking away, foreign holidays for the next 20years are cheaper than a van on this vlog
Cutting 10% off prices will not work. There is a prevailing atmosphere of consumer resistance building not just for motor homes and caravans but in lots of other areas. We are witnessing the Aldi effect - buyers have woken up to the fact they have been skanked for many years and have had enough. Imagine if the Chinese decide to focus on Motor homes?
The dealers are a big reason of over inflated prices and they all seem to have a youtube channel telling you prices are levelling out. The economy should teach all of us to pay attention to our surroundings, people are not spending more, stand fast, they are massively overpriced for what they are. Due diligence will show hoards are leaving due to site fees etc!
Sadly private sellers, who paid over the odds are asking crazy money because they have to much tied up in them. Post COVID Cars a have dropped, Caravans have crashed ( and continue to do so) and Motorhomes are starting to fall. All this not helped by greedy Campsite owners who have shot themselves in the foot ( including the the big Clubs) by introducing inflation busting increases, and now struggle for trade.
We bought a second hand VW 5 year old 150hp in Germany no rust, no damage, manual gearbox for €19k 3 years ago. It was cheaper to do that and spend €5k on tools and wood and build the inside ourselves... The UK prices are crazy and our van can be used as a car as everything can be removed and the seats back in... we were also very lucky to get a German Rail electricians van as they are Short wheel base and 3080kg max weight... added to which they already had anchor bolts, welded in and rust protected for the kit the electricians installed. Even got the 2 €500 tool boxes and steel separation wall as well... ;)
Been looking for over a year, researched for 6 months before that. Ready to buy with cash but no way am l buying now, the market is stagnant and the end of summer is looming. I'll wait till spring to see what the market correction brings, because there will have to be one. Looked at a Murvi Morello today, £33k for a 17 year old van. 😂
@@theoutdoorlife4870 Good luck with that. There is clearly a surplus of stock (before 2025 stock) and a shortage of buyers. Motorhome/Vanlife has passed peak for a number of reasons.
Like you, I'm ready to buy, can afford to buy but simply refuse to pay current prices. The used vans seem particularly overpriced - I'd rather dig a little deeper and buy a new model rather than an 8 year old with 30k on the clock for not much less.
I wasn't sure what your posting was about other than asking viewers what they think. Showcasing vehicles doesn't discuss the market climate. There is still gross overpricing, remember manufacturers of the base vehicles design then with a short life, fifteen year old vehicles have difficult to source parts and what about habitation spares? Leisure vehicles have no market, dealers are not listening to buyers as they will lose loads of cash on a sale.
Watched your video a couple of months ago when you were wondering whether to buy a campervan or motorhome, did you eventually get one or are you still looking? I see that autosleeper that you were looking at is still available. I’m a caravanner but would consider swapping to a mh if the finances allow although I ditched the c1 category when I turned 70 so would need to stick to lighter van.
Did a vlog myself last week about prices just up the road from Highbridge. I dont think prices have dropped. There are some deals as its end of the season nearly. Still think camper vans have become more expensive than motorhomes for what you get. Enjoyed the vlog
55k for a 2017 van with 37.500 on the clock. How much was that new. Id hate to find out after buying it that the original new price was around that price. I wouldn't want to realise that someone had bought a pre covid van and got all or most of their money back. ( At my expense )Are these things worth spending all that money on unless you have lots of free time to get your money's worth. Il stick to my 2011 Renault trafic pop top. ( Bed upstairs so in effect a four birth )Fully insulated twin hob with sink. Diesel heater spinning front seat rock n roll bed. Full diamond stitch seats ( reupholstered) twin leisure batteries durite split charger full professional fitted seargent contol board. twin lithium batteries 3 solar panels EHU. fridge proper mounted 12v tv etc etc and in excellent condition. Was 17k and all brand new conversion. One owner FSH and even a complete brand new clutch ( £700 ). There really is some good buys out there if you search. Adrian flux insures it as a campervan for £17000 value.
Sure prices have dropped, but they have done so from a grossly over priced position akin to racketeering. What appears to be a good reduction is not so. I agree that it will be better to hold off buying until early 25. By then a proper price correction should have evolved. Do not part with your cash easily and stand firm against the marketing and plain sales deceit that characterises this otherwise excellent industry.
When I was looking to sell, one dealer explained that the Covid years ,had ended and sales were slowing, hence his low price to me, didn't go with them, but sold to another dealer for six grand more and as previous post, it was sold by them, next day
I agree with the majority of comments. Stock at this site and many others are over priced. Delivery of 2025 models, over priced campsites and numerous councils implementing parking restrictions are making the ownership of motorhomes challenging. The bubble has burst, time prices came down.....
I’ve seen a few of these vlogs of you looking for motor homes over the last 6months,all interesting but like everything time is ticking how many more vans do you need to look at before you buy or like a lot of your generation are afraid to spend what you’ve got. No money in shrouds and the kids will love all that money that you’ve earned when you’ve gone. Get on with it!!👍
If the struggle to decide is so great.....likely it's really too expensive and over his budget. What about running costs? No use spending everything on a van if you can't afford to actually use it and go where you want without worrying about fuel/site costs/other expenses associated with actually travelling about. Sometimes less is more.
What a sad reflection on our society that dealers still feel it necessary to remove cooker knobs & shower heads from vans to stop THIEVES stealing them.
absolutely not the right time. motorhome market is way over loaded. it will cool down much more. it is that bad that even BCA is putting out public auctions now for motorhomes. So wait, just rent it if you really need to.

Considering how much they have increased in the past 3 years, a 5 grand discount certainly won’t get my attention.

I keep hearing the bubble has burst but looking at Autotradee prices are still ridiculous. 10yr old vans still selling for nearly 40k or more
And there in lies the problem, baby boomers with too much money to spend.

@@GrandpapiyorksI'm not quite a baby boomer
I don’t think one of them vans represents value for money, not even if you dropped 10k off them
What people are asking and what they eventually sell for will be very different now .

Prices are ridiculous, you provide your own accommodation yet they are charging almost what a hotel would

Prices will probably increase again in the new year as people will want a van for spring/summer.

A few big names have entered administration recently. I’d say another 20% fall in prices, at least.
I wish, but currently it doesn't look likely to happen
I sold my Eldiss CV20 to a dealer recently ,got a good price, ,next day it was put on their site , and it sold for ten grand more ,almost immediately.
Part ex of any vehicle has always been like that
Thank you. Very informative 👍👍👍

Nice little walk around that ....
Im not personally looking for a motor home but it certainly killed some time for me 😂.....
What's affordable about these vans' winter prices? That's what's happened. l hope all dealers go out of business for being greedy

They may have got most of their money back but if they are buying a newer one they are paying significantly more than they did before
Most are between £10k & £15k overpriced, that's why they are not selling. The bubble has well & truly burst 😪
Haven’t you bought one yet!

Where is that dealership?
where is that place?
Why would you buy a motor home to do 1000 miles a year. I did that in a couple of days in my old van.
Not for me they aren't dropping much 2009 campervans still £30k to £35k for me!
Need a mortgage to buy one
Greed will be the reason they fail imo

Which dealership is this please?
Highbridge caravans, Highbridge, Somerset. They also have a dealership in Newton Abbott nr Exeter.
price affordable lol
Overpriced still
Everything is overpriced everything
As long as people are paying the prices asked, nothing will change

Id never buy a camper van, too narrow even for 1.
That's why we wanna change from a camper to a MH
They are a Kitchen with a bench seat. No comfort to relax enjoy unfortunately
All are well overpriced ,but if you have the money d not buy British ! Poorly made rubbish 🦧
