  • From an early age, audio has always been my interest, since 2005 I became ill and was forced to stop working, always worked with robotics/PLC machines and programming them, many products made for BMW, Saab, Rank Xerox etc, also optimization, machine park maintenance, planning, but unfortunately I had to stop that.
    Later, when I had recovered reasonably well, I had to find something to do and came across the Raspberry Pi and Volumio and I started building things myself.
    In the meantime I have already built many streamers for friends and acquaintances.
    I had no further training in electronics, I learned it all myself and videos like yours contribute to that.
    personally I like putting things together, it is very satisfying and for much less money you get the quality of the more expensive audio products.
    my youtube video channel, there are not many videos in it.

      I'm very impressed 👏 👌 My skills are not adequate to accomplish something as monumental as this.
      Gefeliciteerd Michel, wat een waanzinnig mooie streamer heb je gebouwd. Ik ken gelukkig geen jaloezie, maar wat zou ik graag wat van jouw skills bezitten 😂.
      Groeten Andre 🤛

    great, thanks for the video and the information provided. May I ask how volume control is done? Is it only by scaling the digital data and hoping that the 24Bit DAC has enough headroom to do this? I wonder my self whether a solution where volume control is done afterwards is better or not. Does anyone have an opinion about this? Many thanks...

    Very well done Michel this is a beautiful finished system love the wood design and case and nice to see different dac design
    Is the Pcm 1794 your Favorite have you tried Ian's Dual mono dac ?

    • @michel8166
      @michel8166 5 місяців тому

      yes, the PCM 1794 is my favorite, if I use this same system but via a Philips TDA 1543 dual DAC chip (i2s) with output transformers, the Philips sounds much more rounded with less detail, the PCM 1794 lets you hear much more of what is going on in the music.
      unfortunately I didn't try Ian Canada's dual mono dac, maybe I'll try that in the future.
