The only thing that kept me from walking out was trashing it with my friend the whole time. It wasn't like Eragon where I was in denial about how bad it was until I got home.
I didn't really like the ending. I don't know why, I just didn't feel too satisfied. I don't even know what they could have done to make it better. It makes sense the way they ended it, but....I was feeling kinda empty.
I think the twist felt forced. The secret society felt shoehorned in. I was so sold on what the movie was offering that I forgot his need to always throw in a twist. It was great up until the twist. The twist was ok because of the message for me, but he spent so much time tieing in things from the past that the secret society thing just wasn't up to par with everything else.
I like most of M. Night Shyamalan (ShylaMON) movies lol. Some of his movies were Meh..but I never wrote him off. You are killing me though lol (ShylaMON) Can't wait to see Glass. Thx for the review
Before I watch it, let me say that I've been waiting on this review. Now, I watched this movie a week and a half ago and automatically was like I hope Tony reviews it. My opinion, I don't think it was up to your standards. But, I'm gonna watch the review and see if I was right. Love these videos, Tony! I dont always watch movies. But now when I do, I think about smooth jazz reviews.
Crazy how 20mil is "low budget" lol I love Glass, but if u never saw Unbreakable then I don't think u can "love" the same. **SPOILER SPOILER!!** The Doc wasn't just trying to get them to kill each other, she was trying to convince them that they weren't "Super" and it was all in their head. And she almost succeeded but since it didn't she had them killed. I didn't really like the way they died but other than that it was a good movie!
I liked the movie , I went to see it twice so I could figure some stuff out... I think we’re used to those over the top marvel characters with these powers that keep them from being defeated. This was raw human strength... there was no magic to it... I loved the suspense and a real storyline... I have to admit I was deflated at the end but then I got home and I said... “this is actually how super human power is in real life. “That Thor and the rest of the crew... it’s to CGI That dude who played all the personalities... THAT WAS THE REAL REASON I WENT BACK... he played the heck out of those accents. I was impressed over the top!! Nice review...
When you combine 70's R&B group *"Shalamar"* with *"Shyamalan"* you get *"Shalamon."* 😂 But keep practicing Tony and you'll get it *"The Second Time Around."* 😎
I absolutely loved it! Ppl are so used to explicit action in movies involving ppl with superpowers but in this particular film the subtleties provide such a huge impact. The fact that Mr. Glass played that catatonic role for YEARS speaks volumes about his genius/mania. I could make many other points but I ain’t doing all that typing. Lol
The issue with M. Knight is now everyone expects twists so the twists don't hit. After Spilt many people guessed that ***spoiler*** Kevin's dad died on the train. Once this was coming out people assumed that Sarah's character would really be the villain.
Buff Santa! 🤣💀 I'm dying! I liked both twists. It was just hard to watch the ending, especially knowing M. Night said he's not making anymore movies as part of this world.
I loved Unbreakable. I thought it was a nice twist on an origin story and it made the idea of super heroes more realistic and relatable. My friends hated it. They thought it moved too slow and were less than impressed. I was excited to see Split but I didn't know it was part 2 of a trilogy so when Glass came out I was super geeked. I think the movies were all consistent in their "slow burn" type of storytelling. I also thought the musical score evoked a lot of emotion. Got it saved in my Spotify playlist. You are probably more of a comic book guy than I am so I really appreciated your take on these films. Sure, they arent the greatest hero films of all time but they were a welcomed twist on what's becoming an overly saturated market of films. Keep grinding Tony!
It was great. James McAvoy is a beast, no pun intended. Samuel is Samuel. Bruce played it as he should. Charlayne Woodard well black don't crack, she's 65 and Sam is 70. After 20 years she still look 40. The makeup was hideous 😂. Great review!
D Davi that’s exactly what I said when I saw Bird Box. But at least the Happening told it was the plants killing everybody, but I still don’t know what was the point was in Bird Box.
I'M I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THAT BRUCE WILLIS DIED TOO EASY?!! HOW ARE YOU THAT STRONG (PUSHING BACK 5 GUARDS) AND LET ONE MAN HOLD YOU DOWN IN A DAMN PUDDLE?!! 😒 So underwhelmed.
I liked Lady in the Water. It was like a fairy tale, and had a really good message about family and courage, and recognizing the hero within you. I feel like it's a good film for kids who feel like they are too old to watch cartoons or educational stuff.
In hindsight the poster for Split should’ve given away the twist. But Unbreakable wasn’t in the public consciousness enough for people to connect the dots before seeing the movie
“ oh that was my plan all along, Imma sit here let you think I’m catatonic, then imma get the access codes to cameras and files til the showdown in which we all die and expose super humans to the towns people” (Santiago voice)
I needed this review. Trying to get back into going to the movies. I don't think I've seen the entire Split movie but I enjoyed Unbreakable. M. Night makes me nervous. Especially seeing his work in the theater-you always worry you're gonna waste your money so you have to decide what other movie you're gonna be able to sneak into lol.
@@dejohnthelegionwilliams472 I dig your style. But Unbreakable was best. Glass had too many plot holes/ inconsistencies and Sam Jackson looked older than his mother. Her makeup made the movie less enjoyable.
I'm not sure if you include tv shows, but M Knight hit on wayward pines the first season. It had twists and everything. That's when i thought he was back
It is definitely a refreshing movie. The budget is modest and the movie is character driven. McAvoy has reached a higher pantheon if acting with this performance(Split as well obviously). It is truly enjoyable, and the ending which can make and or break so many movies, wrapped everything up nicely.
I thought the movie was a solid 3 1/2 out of 5, very good movie. With M Knights background of twists, I assumed for majority of the movie that they weren’t really super hero’s, they were like escaped mental patients just acting like super hero’s all this time, so the twist at the end finding out they were in fact super powered made it even better for me! Good trilogy ending, or a good setup to another film in my opinion. HIT!
I just knew you were going to remark on how Mr Glass had is revelation speech while his enemy was locked up so he couldn't just sneak away and stop Mr Glass from his plan.
There were soooooo many holes is the plot! How did the "cops" know where the first fight was gonna happen? How did they know the lights were going to work? Why was nobody watching the cameras 24/7? Where are the rest of the patients in the hospital? How did Mr. Glass know what kind of firewall the hospital computers had?
Shalamon!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Feel every piece of this messed up name!!

Tony Baker is an old head. Guarantee he was confusing Shyamalan with the hit 80"s group "Shalamar" lol
I couldn't even finish it. I would have liked it better if he would have called his movie the Ember Island Players version.
