- In this in-depth gear review, we take a close look at the Holosun 507C X2 red dot optic. After three and a half years of continuous use on my primary carry pistol, this optic has proven its durability and functionality, despite some issues with the reticle system.
Here’s what we cover:
Features and Reticle Options: Switching between the 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both combined.
Battery Life: Shake Awake technology and real-world performance with minimal battery changes.
Durability: Real-life drops, scratches, and how it holds zero after thousands of rounds.
Reticle Issues: My experience with the reticle malfunction and why it hasn’t affected my use.
Warranty Experience: A seamless, hassle-free replacement process for a different Holosun optic.
Recommendations: Why I prefer the simpler models without solar panels or extra reticle systems for cost and reliability.
If you're considering a red dot for your pistol or want to know if the Holosun 507C X2 is worth it, this review is for you.

Sucks about the other reticles not working but if your main one works? Good enough. I’ll do. Backup irons is always a good idea for any situation too, so thanks for mentioning that.
Great video! I have the 507k on a Glock 43x, I have the 508c ACSS Primary Arms exclusive on a PSA Dagger, & my department just got the 509t on our Glock 47 duty pistols. I love all 3 of the optics.
I have a 509t but on a riser and mounted to my MPX. I really like it. My fav pistol mounted sight is the EPS. Similar to the 509t but a tad smaller
I have 4 Holosun pistol dots and my dad has one too. 3 of them are the 507c x2's, 1 is a 507comp(def getting another one of those, fantastic optic imo), and I have a 407k also. None of them have ever given me any issues and all of the 507c x2's have significant round counts. One of them has been used on rifles as a 12 o'clock piggy back and a 35 degree offset also. I also have an SRO and an RMR and those haven't given me any issues either. I actually have the SRO on my carry gun right now. The SRO is more durable than the internet would lead you to believe btw, the optic housing of my SRO is proof of that.
Anyway, what I'll say is that between the SRO and the 507 Comp I generally prefer the SRO due to the shape of the glass however I am not willing to pay $200 more for the SRO. I would simply get the Holosun because it is excellent. When it comes to the 507c x2 vs the RMR I'd actually choose the 507c x2 unless the RMR was less expensive than the 507c x2. If they were the same price I'd still go with the Holosun. The RMR is undoubtedly the more rugged optic so if I was a cop who was forced to carry OWB and wrestle with drunks and stuff on a routine basis then yeah hands down I'd want an RMR or RCR. But for an ordinary person? I'd PREFER the Holosun. The glass is clearer and slightly larger. There is no fish eye with the 507c x2 but there definitely is with the RMR. Even if I was a cop I wouldn't be too concerned about the Holosun breaking. It's actually pretty rugged.
Also i agree with you--if I could go back I'd get the one without the solar and the multi reticle because I also just use the plain dot. Their rifle dots are alright too but I don't own any just for whatever reason. I will say this--I trust Holosun more than the Sig red dots after some experiences I've had with Sig products in the last year(including a 4xt Pro that had to be warrantied for manufacturers defects). If I was in the market for a new rifle dot it would either be Eotech, Aimpoint, or Holosun.
You’re spot on. I really want to try the 507 comp. I have a G47 that I’ll use it on and have it as my go to training pistol. All in all, I’m very pleased with Holosun and will continue to support them!
Great video Brother 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾..Closed optics is where it’s at
@@thesoutherndrawBR I've very seriously considered purchasing a G47. How is the recoil impulse compared to a G17? I'm wondering if the shorter slide travel results in less felt recoil? I don't know if you're aware of this but the G47 slide doesn't travel as far as the G17 because its basically a long G19 slide on a G45 frame.
If its more or less the same as the G17 then it may not be worth it. I have a G17 and a G19. love em both.
@ I have a 17, and the 47 feels identical. If it’s different, it’s not by much at all. Only reason I got it was because it was a super good deal at my local pawn shop
Great content I’ve been watch for a while! Keep up the good work. What types of holsters have you used in the past and currently use? Thanks
C&G is my favorite holster brand followed by T.Rex Arms. We will make some videos showing different options in the next few weeks. Thanks for the support!
I have the 407C only use the 2moa dot so that works for me.
I think that’s what most people run. I don’t know anyone who uses the other reticle options.
👍🏻good info. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
What iron sights are you running?

I commented before even watching so you’re doing a review on an optic that has failed you and you’re asking if it’s the new standard
It hasn’t failed me. My reticle is working just fine as stated. Watch the whole video before commenting pal
