Oh, yes sorry, I have it by Earl Wild, exactly this interpretation.... Jack Gibbons have different interpretation of that, too. they all are interesting. I just heard Jack's recently. Gershwin's music is infinite...it can be played in SO MANY WAYS.....Isn't is great?
actually, there is a film on UA-cam of Gershwin himself playing this piece and he plays it at pretty much the same tempo as Cazal. Maybe it's other pianists that are playing it too slow!
That's a whole can of worms you're opening. Tons of controversy about whether the camera and audio recording speeds were slightly off in his early vids leading many to speculate that the version was actually speeded. No agreement amongst the top recording engineers.
Why would this awesome pianist waste his time with William Bolcom when he plays Gershwin like this? excellent. And I disagree with these dumb comments saying it's too fast. That's the point of this arrangement. Incredible pianist! I can do without the faces though.
Playing Bolcom isn't a "waste of time" if the performer enjoys it. Believe it or not, it's not about what the audience wants, but the pianist. I've seen a few people on the internet comment on Maurizio Pollini's tendency to perform a lot of works by Beethoven and Chopin, but if he enjoys that, then _you_ would b the one wasting your time by commenting on that preference.
had me clapping behind my computer by the end.
wonderful performance.
Wow, very impressive. It must be very hard to play this wonderful piece so clear without hitting wrong keys. 5 stars!
It is definitely great, and such a good recreation for the pianist on top of the good music !
Phenomenal!!
geniuuusssss
The beginning is the original Gershwin version, followed by the Earl Wild's etude
The faster the better with this piece really.
my teacher very good

Gershwin. (Based on his performances, not the published official score.)

Not bad but a tad too fast....
Listen at .75 speed and you'll know that that's the real version...especially if you play piano. This is a sped up version.
the music in it is lost.,,,
too too fast
Slow down lol...You are ruining it
