Très joli, j'aime beaucoup. Bravo
The raised eyebrow at 2.25 ! Can't imagine a more perfect performance of this piece.
Yes 😂 reminds me of Horowitz playing the Carmen variations with a raised eyebrow
Possibly the most athletic address of the piano keyboard I have ever seen. Unbelievable speed and clarity of repeated notes (the piano's action also deserves applause). Simon Barere on steroids. Can he still play like this today?
SUUPER PIANIST !!!
When I heard 'slight of hand' from card magic... there is this moment when you see a man with another 'slight of hand' in piano.. same phrase but different meaning + - +
i still remember listening to this song 10 years ago x)
I've studied Graceful Rag which should be somehow easier..I'd like to learn this as well but .. wow... However i believe Bolcom is difficult to read, but once in the finger is not so hard to play... my impression with only 1 piece
YES I completely agree, for me it's because he writes in keys that are horrible to read, like Gb and Cb.... come on man why make it so complicated lovely music tho
I particularly enjoy musical compositions that skirt (or fall into) dissonance as this piece does. Compare to Tres Divertimentos (sobre temas de autoes olvidados) - #2. Muy dolce, by Xavier Montsalvatge.
Very professional. Great playing.
Orchestre?
Not bad but a tad too fast....
Listen at .75 speed and you'll know that that's the real version...especially if you play piano. This is a sped up version.
BRAVO!!! GREAT PERFOMANCE!!!
Wow. With Halloween coming up, this might be a good tune to play for the little candy snatchers to listen to. Mr. Cazal, bravo.
He is now my FAVORITE PIAnist!!!!!!!!!!
Plays the spots off it. SO much more zesty and wicked than anyone else's, and he has a lot of fun with it (and us!).
I didn't even mean to watch the whole thing...
браво!
Still one of my favourite pianists of all time and highly underrated.
The best, simply sublime. Thank you Mr. Cazal
@sferrault i have the cd but do you have the dvd off this please could we buy that
Kk funnist
@sferrault that was a hard jump to make
Why would this awesome pianist waste his time with William Bolcom when he plays Gershwin like this? excellent. And I disagree with these dumb comments saying it's too fast. That's the point of this arrangement. Incredible pianist! I can do without the faces though.
Playing Bolcom isn't a "waste of time" if the performer enjoys it. Believe it or not, it's not about what the audience wants, but the pianist. I've seen a few people on the internet comment on Maurizio Pollini's tendency to perform a lot of works by Beethoven and Chopin, but if he enjoys that, then _you_ would b the one wasting your time by commenting on that preference.
Totally unoriginal piece.
That's a really funny comment orgaboi, I laughed hard. But if you're serious, from where does this piece derive? We'll need titles and composers (and dates if possible).
As far as I remember this was sometimes in the 90's at the Pogorelich competition in the US
when and where did he play this?
Drop the tempo down just a third!...
Superb!
@diaane27 ht hi tp:// hi classi hi cscore hi .hut2. hi ru/ hi S. hi html hi! just remove the hi's and put the link together
now finally, I get the pleasure to hear a great pianist! Thank you very much...made all the difference.
Fantastic performance! The interaction part with the audience at the end is just brilliant! Would love to buy the audio version of this track :-).
This is on par with Hamelin's rendition. Simply excellent. Best performance of this out there.
Excellent! Love it.
@hyktmbe This is a live performance and I'm sorry there is no recording of this piece by Olivier Cazal other than this video. But thank you for the nice comments
Ugh...his repeated notes make me SICK! It must be a magic piano...
unbelievable!!!! everyone should here him play Poulenc. it is as good as it gets!
my teacher play well! very good
my teacher very good
Any samaritan who has this score to share? and love Cazal's playing!!
