    The raised eyebrow at 2.25 ! Can't imagine a more perfect performance of this piece.

      Yes 😂 reminds me of Horowitz playing the Carmen variations with a raised eyebrow

    De mémoire, Olivier Cazal disait que cette composition était le fruit d’une nuit blanche entre Sancan et certains amis, Sancan ayant composé l’œuvre durant cette nuit là « pour rigoler »

    Possibly the most athletic address of the piano keyboard I have ever seen. Unbelievable speed and clarity of repeated notes (the piano's action also deserves applause). Simon Barere on steroids. Can he still play like this today?

    When I heard 'slight of hand' from card magic... there is this moment when you see a man with another 'slight of hand' in piano.. same phrase but different meaning + - +

    I've studied Graceful Rag which should be somehow easier..I'd like to learn this as well but .. wow... However i believe Bolcom is difficult to read, but once in the finger is not so hard to play... my impression with only 1 piece

      YES I completely agree, for me it's because he writes in keys that are horrible to read, like Gb and Cb.... come on man why make it so complicated lovely music tho

    I particularly enjoy musical compositions that skirt (or fall into) dissonance as this piece does. Compare to Tres Divertimentos (sobre temas de autoes olvidados) - #2. Muy dolce, by Xavier Montsalvatge.

      Listen at .75 speed and you'll know that that's the real version...especially if you play piano. This is a sped up version.

    Why would this awesome pianist waste his time with William Bolcom when he plays Gershwin like this? excellent. And I disagree with these dumb comments saying it's too fast. That's the point of this arrangement. Incredible pianist! I can do without the faces though.

    • @jacobschiller4486
      @jacobschiller4486 Рік тому

      Playing Bolcom isn't a "waste of time" if the performer enjoys it. Believe it or not, it's not about what the audience wants, but the pianist. I've seen a few people on the internet comment on Maurizio Pollini's tendency to perform a lot of works by Beethoven and Chopin, but if he enjoys that, then _you_ would b the one wasting your time by commenting on that preference.

      That's a really funny comment orgaboi, I laughed hard. But if you're serious, from where does this piece derive? We'll need titles and composers (and dates if possible).

    quelqu'un a t il un enregistrement d'olivier cazal au concours reine élisabeth de belgique .j'aimerai l'entendre dans islamey de balakirev ça devait décoiffer puisque le jury a trouvé qu'il allait trop vite.

    mon prof quand j'avais 10 ans il y a 25 ans environ toujours aussi fort on dirait. il aurait pu gagner le reine élisabeth de belgique dommage que son islamey de balakirev était trop rapide pour le jury. j'aimerai que quelqu'un mette sa prestation dans l'étude de chopin nu 1 op 10 car c'était trop trop fort.c'était à l'abbaye de royaumont dans le val d'oise je crois.la, prise de risque était énorme et le tempo monstrueux
