    Did anybody else notice that the front passenger door made a popping sound as he opened it? That could be an indicator of damage. Door alignment can get messed up in a collision and cause popping noise.
    Never trust a car salesman to explain how to inspect a car. I don't care what he says, his job is to sell cars.

      Like I say on just about every video, NEVER buy a used car without getting a buyer's inspection at the dealer who sells it new. It's the best $150 you'll ever spend.

    • @Ralphyboy660

      That's probably the sound of the door handle going back to its original position

    • @CognitiveHeatsink
      @CognitiveHeatsink 9 місяців тому

      @@Ralphyboy660 that's possible. I only said that because I wrecked a car years ago and the door that got hit started making a popping noise after they fixed it. It's really hard for the body shop to adjust a door perfectly after repairing it. Anyway, he opened all 4 doors and I only noticed the noise on that one door.

      I think it's valuable for people to know how to save money buying a perfect car that's discounted because of what it says on the Carfax...I understand that not everybody sees the value in that

    I saw a different video where this same young man inspected a M-B black sedan and pointed to the Fender screws not having been turned, mentioned to look different paint texture and much more. Even I, a senior cit now need remind how to look all of that and magnifying glass to see potential scratches in dash cluster clear screen as dash is disassembled to change mileage. Look under car is a MUST.

      It's a wise man who looks under the car...it's an even wiser man who gets a buyer's inspection at the dealer who sells that vehicle new.

      @@bravo11x The Lexus dealer should be able to put in writing the results of their own inspection of the car to guarantee no frame damage or possible lingering issues. I would also consider getting an inspection at a professional body shop to see if there is something Lexus is missing. I'm really surprised Lexus is even selling the car and I hope it's cheap, but normally the Lexus inspection is the best possible inspection for a Lexus.

    Is there any way to view accident photos? If the Carfax shows an accident report? Often times, the Carfax shows clean title, but accident reported? Are we able to view how severe it was before purchasing?

    • @everycarSeattle
      @everycarSeattle  5 років тому +3

      I don't know any way to figure out the exact nature of the accident other than first hand examination of the car. They don't keep photos of the accident on public record...but that would be a fantastic idea PokerRun!

    U need to look closer at the vin sticker they can easily be duplicated and or painted around.

  • @randomimmigrant348
    @randomimmigrant348 4 роки тому +1

    Is the VIN stickers an American legislation. We don't have these stickers in south Africa.
    As a part-time used car dealer , I check all windows and front and back wind screen to see if it's original.

    • @everycarSeattle

      It's an American thing...the other 2 ways to look are feeling for paint lines and looking at the screw that mounts the front doors to the body...it's the first thing buyers do at an auction

    Joe stated many times: "Looks original." To a layperson what does that mean? Did he inspect jambs for masking? Did he look under the car for bent crash bars or other damage ? Or corrosion ? Did he inspect for symmetry ? Nope.

      For the lay person, there is nothing you can do to educate them on things like this. No video in the world is going to help them become a car inspection expert. If you know of a honest and thorough mechanic who has tons of experience, you have to take any used car your are looking to buy to that mechanic for an inspection. But experienced, honest, thorough mechanics are harder to find than a needle in a haystack, so basically you're on your own. Buying a used car is a crap shoot even with services like Carfax.

    • @Zoomydoomy
      @Zoomydoomy 5 років тому

      "original" in this sense means that the specific part is the part from the factory. The part the car originally came with.

    I bought a 2015 Honda Civic si last year with only 1,100 miles on it, and I checked the car out like you recommended for any detected repairs done, but it shows none and I did a car fax and research.com on it and my car shows it’s absolutely clean with no discrepancies. However my cars has absolutely no vin in any of the body parts. I looked at the paint and checked like you stated, but my does not show and repair was ever done to it, but they are missing all the vin on the panels. No vin on hood, doors, and trunk? What does this mean? I’m really confused about my car? There’s no signs of body repair done to it, but no vin anywhere on my car. I need you expertise and advice. Please help?

    • @nunyabiznis817
      @nunyabiznis817 6 років тому +2

      If a 3-year-old car has only 1100 miles on it, that alone is a red flag UNLESS it was bought brand new by an elderly person who drove it very little. But if you are truly missing VIN stickers, and your 3-year old car is showing only 1100 miles, then I suspect foul play. Your car likely does not have only 1100 miles on it (someone rolled back the mileage somehow) and any VIN stickers you do have may be fake (which is why everything checks out on carfax et al). It is possibly that you bought a car that is "illegal" in one way or another.

    • @leslieau7245
      @leslieau7245 6 років тому

      Nunya Biznis the thing is that I bought my 2015 Honda Civic si with 1,100 miles from Mcgrath Honda in Chicago, Illinois. It was not bought from a private seller. It’s just strange that the car checks out, but has no vin stickers anywhere in the car. Paint on the car are all consistent with no overspray anywhere. I ran through so many car history on this car and they all come out clear on this car. I just can’t figure out this car? Maybe you can run the vin numbers on my car and see for yourself. 2HGFB6E58FH707266
