It’s so hard to pick a color scheme for blonde/yellow brick homes. There are only a few videos that I’ve found that have any suggestions. The struggle is real!
With a grey roof I would go with purple or mauve depending on how dark or blue roof is? With a brown roof, maybe sage green trim? Dark wood stained door, or shiny copper? Going back to bed, hopefully this makes sense!
Hi Sandy, what colors do you personally like? I think greens and blues work. Like a mint green or a Navy? I also like the idea of greys and even purples. Or greys with a hint of purple. What do you like?
I agree! Everybody just wants to paint over the top of the brick. We don’t want to do that. But I don’t want white paint either, all of the orange brick homes are painted with white and black trim. I definitely do not want to look at white paint anymore.
Always so informative videos!! When I am recommending front door colours, I will often suggest painting the entire front door and trim the same colour. I find this makes the front door look larger!! Thanks for a great video as always!!
Thanks for this video! We bought a orange/ blonde brick house recently and I cannot wait to paint the upper half which is siding. Previous owner painted it a beige/gold color which is giving 80s vibes...ugh. my husband suggested a blue color but I like the taupe color you suggested with the khaki colored trim... we're currently working on the outside to create beautiful curb appeal so this is right on time!👍🏼👍🏼
-Light orange brick house needs a new roof. What do you think of OC colors between these 3 : Bourbon, Sedona copper, Aged copper ? (family member written) .
I've been telling my Mom to go with a blue but she was leaning towards a green. Her brick is like a light orange from the 60's. It's quite hideous tbh 😂 I like the orange front door. Right now my mom's house is all salmon so it's not that weird.
My home is 3 different colors of orange. Want to make a total change of the outside. What color to paint shutters and trim on windows. Wish I could send you a picture.
The color of my stucco/cement block house is Peruvian Orange it is a deep orange color with slight gold hues. I want to put an Owens Corning TerraCotta shingle on my house it is a mixture of reds and oranges. It looks really cool and I think would make my house design pop. My trim is white. My eaves are a weathered redone stained wood. And I have tons on redwood stained privacy fence. My Bahama shutters are either going to be a bright sky blue or a lavender .😊 Am I wrong? Am I going to be going into overkill or can I get by with this JMHO, BUT I think it's going to be big bold and beautiful if I do it! I'm ready to sign my roofing contract I'd like your opinion.
Love this, but would also love one covering red brick (unless I didn’t find it lol). Tbh currently struggling to decide if I want to lime wash or not (figured out difference between that and white wash asking a sherwin williams rep)
I'm building new home with Black brick. What color schemes would you think look best. Vinly, aluminum trim and gutters. I'm thinking white vinyl white trim and black gutter. Please help.
Can you do a video on blue trim for a orange brick house? Currently our trim is black and I do like it but at times it seems a bit harsh. I was thinking of painting the trim blue, or a deep blue/teal. Thoughts?
I have an orange brick home, christmas tree green siding and green trim, white garage doors in front, and a brown roof. I'm about to paint the exterior in a couple weeks and I have no idea what to do! I want it to look cozy and I would like the orange brick to not look as prominent as it does now. No more green! I need help!
I wonder if anyone else was mentally singing, “She’s a brick houuuuuuuse. She’s mighty mighty.” p.s. When you make a brick house video sponsored by Mighty Boards, no need to pay for a license. It’s playing in our heads. LOL!
This video is so helpful! My shutters are emberglow (orange) which I love. My home is a small ranch. I want to paint the exterior fresco cream. I valve your professional opinion. What do you think?
My home has the same color brick as your friend with dark brown shingles and beige trim. I'm planning to update the roof and want to know if a dark grey would work and if so what trim would you suggest with it. Also is there a company that would help choose colors for roof and trim because this is overwhelming 🤣
Thank you so much for covering this topic. 💕 Most of my mid century house is a corally brick color. However, about 1/2 of the upper front is white siding with white trim and white soffits. The door is red. Very meh. I am replacing the roof soon. What color should it be? Grey, brown, orangey? Love the trim and accent color suggestions that speak to getting a slate gray roof. Should I paint the white siding Aesthetic White using either Fresco Cream or Perfect Khaki for the trim? Or, what trim and accent will look good against the stark white siding that sits above the coral brick?
Even I would go with Perfect Khaki. That way, the house, given to whatever it’s exterior paint color maybe, can and will have a sliver of some kind of gray to balance all the other colors. Okay, I like Robust Orange. I do. Just…seeing that house with that specific color on it, it looks like a huge house-size version of a cantaloupe. Heh.
I might lean into creams, khakis and greens, blues and charcoals. Depends on whether you like the contrast of the orange and white of if you're trying to subdue that contrast.
the photo you're using to show an "orange" house is so fake-looking that I can't get behind any of these choices. They are great complements to various brick colors, but in the images AS SHOWN I think they look awful! (Creds: I was a painting contractor faux finisher & muralist for 17 years.)

Copper roof on orange brick looks stunning.

Wish you had examples of real homes/photos not just digital images. Hard to find someone with an orange brick home that got it right perhaps
I love this had ORANGE, it's one of my faves (and yellow, too!).
Nice right?

Just show colors too much commentary
What about sea pearl color for orange bricked home with wrought iron trims

That was cool. I think you did a great job. I appreciate the color tips.
Thanks for the video- I have no brick! Currently trying to decide if I need to stick with a White House & black trim.
Nothing wrong with a classic!

Can you do red brick too

Perfect color pairing!

My house has off white siding and a orange brick chimney. I want to compliment it with painting the front door and shutters. Recommendations?

I have orange brick on my house. Do you think I can use a German smear on it or white wash it and it not look horrible?
That's my plan too

You're my kind of person Mauna lol!
Great information but if I upload a picture to you would you please give me some recommendations? I am not very good with colors I am color blind
What would you use for a siding color and orange brick ? That’s not white

I'd compare the colors against the siding for sure. If the whites clash, I'd go more cream or even a light taupe.
Even I would go with Perfect Khaki.

Can't unsee the cantaloupe lol!
Any suggestions for orange brick with white siding? I'm open to trim and accent colors for a slate or brown roof.
I might lean into creams, khakis and greens, blues and charcoals. Depends on whether you like the contrast of the orange and white of if you're trying to subdue that contrast.
Just paint the brick also.
Well, don’t just use posterboard
First 🥇> my Friday night date 🤗
TGIF!
