Most of the Males I used in breeding were very good with the Female. The whole aggression thing is due mainly from them being kept separated most of their lives due to ignorance thus forming very bad social skills. 1 thing we did was to keep all the fry together in a large 30 gallon tank thru adulthood. Very shocking to see groups form, like us behavior starts at birth. There were always a few bad apples and those guys were separated out....by the way these bad apples are what give people the reinforcement to the myth that Males are very abusive. The rest all lived together relatively peaceful lives...a few occasional spats but that's normal for any life form. Just have to be extra watchful in the Juvenile stage to get those bad seeds out.
Very glad to see a comment like this as they are few and far between but i have heard many success stories with fry being raised together in a community (of course separating the troublemakers) but i wish more people would realize some have very successful tanks like this. Most just dont want to hear it and arent willing to accept that this is possible and conditioning them from fry really shapes personalities and behavior. Really enjoyed your comment and brought a smile to my face just reading it👍
How do you keep your male and female together without fighting? Lol, I had to separate mine, my female attacked my male and beat him up pretty good. He's fine and recovering well. But, no breeding she had her stripes too.
I'm so excited for you!!! Doesn't matter how many times I get a spawn, I'll always feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. I think you've done an amazing job. Also what an eager couple hahaha EXHIBITIONIST!!! This was a great video and so much fun to watch!!
With the very irregular colouring of the female I was wondering if it is harder to see her changes in markings indicating breeding readiness...? Aha...you answered my question after I typed it. Left it anyway.
I'm so excited to see this! You are doing an awesome job! 💙 The bubble wrap is a good idea. My almond leaf fell at one point..so this is more stable. I also find it super interesting how its a bit different then what my pair did. Different behaviours, same outcome. So cool to watch.
Thanks! Yes the bubble wrap worked really well. The only issue was when the water evaporated it lifted up but I just kept adding a cup of water and that did the trick.
Glad I came across this video! I'm actually prepping to begin betta breeding myself, so the info given here has helped tremendously. Thank you so much!
LOL 8 amazings and 3 incredibes including the challenge. Thank you so much for sharing this. I think the mating of Betta's is the most beautiful process in the animal kingdom. I hope you have lots of pretty babies. I'm excited to see wiggly tails.😁💚🐠💚
Really nice video . Just bought my first beta female fish . She is doing ok . I do plan to get a male fish for her . Thank you your beta!s are really pretty
now i want to breed my betta. its more work than im ready to put in, my betta is really cranky and would probably kill any lady fish i add, and i dont have enough tanks but *dammit give me babies*
Very nice catching the pair "doing their thing"! The miracle of life, isn't it? :-) I'm so glad for you that you had a successful spawn! I will be following your adventure with excitement, as I would like to spawn my two bettas some day.
Lifewithpets. I replied before I finished watching! Continued good wishes eggs hatch and babies are all healthy. I used to breed bettas almost 20 years ago and sell them on aquabid and among breeder friends. It's a lot of work, but very rewarding. I haven't bred in many years but I always have bettas in the house as pets!😊
Yes, the work I'm not looking forward too but I'm very committed to it. I already do lots of water changes on several guppy fry tanks so one more won't make a difference I guess. It will be when we have to start jarring them that the real work begins!
I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for months for you or creativepetkeeping to breed so I can buy one as a birthday present for my mother! :D crossing fingers for babies!
I love your video. You did a fabulous job. It was very educational. I want to breed our betas. I feel a little more prepared in doing this. I will still do some more research but I feel like this was a great start.
Those are some absolutely stunning bettas! I can't wait to see what their fry looks like. Also Kasia is amazing she does great work! Good luck! So excited to see how it goes!
After watching dexters world I gathered some helpful hints.. I’m sure you are following them while not filming.. but sealing off the top with a cover/plastic wrap to keep the moisture in the tank to keep the bubbles from popping and also lots of privacy and dim lighting :) still halfway through your video in case you do mention these and I sound like a typical yt commentator
What a great betta couple haha 😆 they have such team work more than humans haha this was nice to watch I have a veiltail betta I’m not sure how old she is now but I’m think of getting more bettas when I move
Might have to try bubble wrap, my males seem to not care for the styrofoam cup deal lately. Excited to watch this all go down! One of my guys likes to push the girl all around the tank with his nose when she's passed out, I swear he's a savage. (He's also the one who's eaten his eggs twice. Ugh.)
This is amazing. Bandit looks like a little bandit! I'm hoping to breed my betta fish. I currently only have a male, a blue and white rose tail butterfly, but i feel like he might pass on before I feel ready to breed. I hope your bettas are happy and healthy and good luck spawning in the future.
I can definitely see the eggs! Excited for you! I myself am trying to be a first time betta breeder as well :3 can't wait to see your progress! I've spawned my 2 betta's twice already but wasn't a success. Both times the male ate his eggs. The second time I knew there was some babies cause I could see their little eye balls. Take a small nap. Wake back up to find he ate them all again! I didn't know about keeping the light on trick though, thank you for that little info there :) I'm hoping to start up a UA-cam channel myself for my fish hobby and the fish hobby community! Hopefully I'll be able to get my male to be a good daddy at some point or maybe I should just think about taking him out. I don't want to do that though. Thank you for sharing by the way :) looking forward to your progress
Shirene Dustin Miller once the babies are free swimming the male will eat them, provide lots of hiding places and plant cover and remove him once all the eggs are hatched and hopefully that'll save some babies!
Jessie Kinney both times when this happened it was within 24 hours of spawning. Idk if they were free swimmers at that point but maybe. I've read that the male will eat some eggs that were not fertile to prevent funking up the good ones in the nest and that's what I guessed what happened to the first spawning + to be honest I didn't take it to seriously the first time. Mainly wanted to see if they liked each other and could do a spawn which they did. The second spawn surprised me cause I woke up early to check on the nest and saw little eyes in a few of the eggs and was expecting to see them be hatched facing vertically up in the nest maybe but instead there was no eggs to be had. That was disappointing to see. But they are first time parents I'm guessing learning as they go as am I. I know I do need to remove the male eventually to prevent nibbling. I'm just lost with when to at this point with this specific pair I have. Cause I would like him to learn to tend to his nest till they are free swimmers. But I also would like to have some babies not eaten! Lol. Thank you for your advice! :)
Thank you! Egg is eating can be quite common in first time parents. You can take the male out once they're free swimming or you could lower the water level really low and take him out and hope they can make it back to the surface if they fall. I am hoping to be doing a breeding bettas livestream very soon with Amber from big city bettas. .Hopefully we can answer some of the issues people are having.
Lifewithpets looking forward to more of your videos :) thank you for sharing. I'll have to keep a eye out for that live stream with big city bettas then!
get some cichlids and breed them,, awesome to watch, ive watched bettas spawn in a wine glass, not that i would or advise but just shows how easy they are to breed.
Man that male is such a sweet heart he never hurt the female
Yeah, and my male betta hurt by the female 😓
Male betta hurt the female because the female have a high ego, and the male hurt the female just to drop the ego
K
@@geovanyxl170 stupid reasoning, they hurt the females because they are territorial fish, stop putting your wife beater thinking into your pets
they win best breeding pair of the year
Thank you!

Nice
Never watched a betta breed before that was exciting to watch. Wonderful video very informative. Looks like bandit is gonna be a wonderful dad.
Thanks! I was so relieved I caught it on camera.
That's just awesome because the Betta will protect the eggs and after the evolve they will spit them out the are like the horsey fish.
I'm so excited for you!!! Doesn't matter how many times I get a spawn, I'll always feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. I think you've done an amazing job. Also what an eager couple hahaha EXHIBITIONIST!!! This was a great video and so much fun to watch!!
Thank you!!
These two are the prettiest Koi bettas I've seen!
With the very irregular colouring of the female I was wondering if it is harder to see her changes in markings indicating breeding readiness...? Aha...you answered my question after I typed it. Left it anyway.

I'm a big fan
I have been able to breed my bettas thanks to you
Thanks! Yes the bubble wrap worked really well. The only issue was when the water evaporated it lifted up but I just kept adding a cup of water and that did the trick.
This was so interesting; I didn't realize the nest might need something to help it. Who knew bubble wrap could help?? Excited to see babies!
Creative Pet Keeping looks like you've done well with your betta! And also got to be breed out ov the 50 you had

Wilderness Bath Crafts learn how to spell
Good job! Isn't this amazing? Every time I watch bettas breed, it's just beautiful... like a dance.
Glad I came across this video! I'm actually prepping to begin betta breeding myself, so the info given here has helped tremendously. Thank you so much!
That was very quick...and the male was so gentle.
Love this channel AND you can say "amazing and incredible" as many times as you want to!
AWESOME! I've been planning on breeding my bettas, i hope you get good babies
Best of luck to you!😊 a beautiful couple, I look forward to all the updates!!
Thank you!
My Plakat male was such a sweetheart with my female. My halfmoons were terrors to one another. Lol.
Hi God bless all of y'all and always know that God and his son Jesus both love all of y'all in Jesus mighty name I pray Amen
You have nice betas 👍My betas years before, the female help him to bring the eggs to the nest. It's happening one in a thousand... Was nice to see....
Fascinating Sheila, thanks so much for sharing
No aggression that's what you call a straight up fish fight lol
Best Betta breed examples and info I've seen EVER!!!
Thank you!
Omggg you did so good for your first time breeding Bettas!!! You inspired me to try to breed my Bettas , wish me luck!! Tysm!
How did that go?
Great footage! I wish you the very best of luck and look forward to following this journey with you. Wow, dad is just stunning
What an amazing footage! They are not shy at all haha. So cute! Bandit will be a great dad!
Thank you!
That female is the most beautiful I've ever seen!
Such a handsome pair! They seem to work well together as well
Yes, they have done well together. Thanks for watching!
LOL 8 amazings and 3 incredibes including the challenge. Thank you so much for sharing this. I think the mating of Betta's is the most beautiful process in the animal kingdom. I hope you have lots of pretty babies. I'm excited to see wiggly tails.😁💚🐠💚
Yay, now I know how many times I said it!! Thanks!

Great video as always! I have been waiting for this video since you mention some videos ago about this project. Thanks for sharing this info!!
Very nice catching the pair "doing their thing"! The miracle of life, isn't it? :-)
I'm so glad for you that you had a successful spawn! I will be following your adventure with excitement, as I would like to spawn my two bettas some day.
Good luck!! Looks like you will have some beautiful babies! You are off to a good start! Your male is already getting busy!👍
Thanks!

When you start jarring them when you can start sexing and have dozens of jars to clean everyday, that's when the real work begins! 😉
I bred Fighters before. Didn’t get to save any babies but the courtship and actual labour process was fascinating. :)
You done a awesome job at getting them ready for your first time.😁
She's a gorgeous fish !!
I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for months for you or creativepetkeeping to breed so I can buy one as a birthday present for my mother! :D crossing fingers for babies!
That's incredible he looks like a good dad
Great video
Amazing capture
I love your video. You did a fabulous job. It was very educational. I want to breed our betas. I feel a little more prepared in doing this. I will still do some more research but I feel like this was a great start.

Fascinating video. Thank you!
This was so amazing! Thanks for the video! So interesting to watch them breed. Great work :)
great job! From what I hear its best to add distilled water for the water that replaces the evaporated water.
Those are some absolutely stunning bettas! I can't wait to see what their fry looks like. Also Kasia is amazing she does great work! Good luck! So excited to see how it goes!
Thank you! I can’t wait either to see what they look like, but we have a long wait!

The fry turned out gorgeous! Ready to sell soon.
Fascinating.
I may need to look at breeding at some point
The babies are going to be beautiful. I would want to buy one.
What a great betta couple haha 😆 they have such team work more than humans haha this was nice to watch I have a veiltail betta I’m not sure how old she is now but I’m think of getting more bettas when I move
Wow! That was incredible! I knew they blew bubble nests, but I always wondered how they got them in the bubbles.
Ugh.)
Definitely give it a go. It's interesting the different behaviors in each pair. Egg eating can be common in first time parents.
I’m so excited for u guys!

good job , you done it so well im proud for you specially when being inexperienced
Both of them r soo cute
Excellent video
Oh no! First time Dad!... got to be the funniest thing :P
Haha he saw her and decided to show off his bubble nest skills
Do you feed the bettas when he’s building the nest and she’s in the breeding container?
No, I didn’t feed mine. That’s why it’s important to feed them up for several weeks before breeding them.
Hehe I already no how to breed bettas but I love your channel and tons of other 1s to much to stop watcging
Thanks it’s awesome to watch
They are beautiful
This is so educational
