I was fortunate enough to attend one of his concerts. He was the most amazing singer I have ever seen. His voice was absolutely pure. It was a long concert and at one point the band had to take a break due to union rules. During the break he sang a capella. It was amazing. 🎉 Unfortunately he and Annie divorced. The pressures of his never being home was too much for his marriage. 😢

I was fortunate enough to be at his live concert so many years ago. His performances totally absorbed everyone. And he was such a kind. sincere person. He stayed with his wife as long as humanly possible, in spite of the fact that there must have been millions of women who would have gladly stayed with him. no matter how often he had to travel for his concerts. This song made us know that we had someone to share our ride through life with. We felt loved.

John Denver was a great singer and song writer. He had loads of great songs and was more a folk singer than country singer. He sounded just as good live (if not better) than he did on the studio version. He wrote this song in about 10 minutes on a ski lift after a row with his wife. He was also an environmentalist before most people knew what one was. He died far too young and is greatly missed.

John Denver is always amazing, but your information is slightly erroneous. He and his wife were living in Asoen and had a fight. John went out skiing. He wrote the song on the chairlift going back up and went back home and played it for her. The,y stayed together for about 8 more years before they separated in the early 80s.

The information I said is exactly what I read online. I’ve had a few people come at me for not doing a bit of readings at least on songs before listening to them.
So every now and then, I do check a bit of info about songs.
It said “after their first separation before they eventually got divorced eight years later.”
But my best bet is getting the information from my UA-cam Fam. So thanks for the info 👏😊
