First, congrats on the birth of your baby boy, and welcome back!
Second, thank you for the fair assessment of WOH and the contrast between WOH and TU. I have seen a lot of people saying that they watch WOH to get over TU. Personally, I'm not on the same board since I haven't watched TU and I love WOH to death, so when I saw people said that the relationship between the two leads portrayed in WOH is inferior to that of TU simply because it's more straightforward and daring, I can't quite rebuke the comment simply because I haven't watched TU so hearing a fair assessment from someone who has watched both is very assuring. As a side note, WOH has no shortage of subtle portrays of the relationship between the two male leads. Personally, I'm grateful that WOH broke the mold of how BL adaptation can be done, not only in the portray of the relationship but the ending as well.
Yea, I agree with you completely. You should check out the Untamed and see for yourself though - the dramas are appealing in different ways. Ahh it's interesting that you bring up the ending - I think I can do a whole video talking about the ending because it's so ambiguous.
@@dramaobsession6619 thank you for the suggestion, I'll check it out when I have time since I know TU has 50 episodes! btw, not sure if you have the chance to watch the easter egg that contains the actual ending but they need to cut it out and put it in a "special episode" so as to pass censorship?

I just wanna add some things
At first, just like you, i also dont rly buy zhou ye's acting as guxiang bc it looks too exaggerate, her movements, the way she talk, n her expression dont rly sit well with me, moreover the bratty attitude toward other than wkx.
But then she looks more natural as the ep continue .
I thought "ah, her acting is getting better".
But then i read somewhere that director told zhou ye to act exaggerate as guxiang in the earlier ep bc gu xiang is someone who has been living as a ghost, she live in the ghost her whole life, this is the first she is been to human world. So she doesnt rly know how a normal "teenage human girl" would act
Gu xiang is pretending to be a "normal girl", n since she isnt familiar with it, the way she she express become somehow exaggerate n strange in other ppl eyes.
But then the more gu xiang spend times in human she is getting better at understanding how a normal girl should be thats why she somehow look more natural n normal as the ep continue.
So zhou ye is acting as gu xing who is pretending to be a normal human girl.
I was kinda shocked and surprised, like that was such a bold move from the director since they dont tell the viewer ab it in the drama, the viewer need to understand it themselves or know ab it after the drama air.
The director was rly brave bc so i think some ppl dont rly like guxiang in the early ep bc of her acting.
I personally think zhouye did rly well as guxing, moreover in ep 35, she was amazing.

Spot-on assessment of this wonderful drama. Wen Kexing is all kinds of delicious fun to watch, from his flirty eyes to his little "you WILL be mine" smile, and of course his mad fan skills. I'm about halfway through and actually appreciate the spoilers I've found because they help explain some of the scenes I'm watching now. It's a different flavor of Yum compared to the Untamed, but both are so much fun to watch that I'm in desperate need of a fan myself.
As soon as I completed the drama I can to your channel. And I am planning to watch all over again

Your review of this show is awesome and I was actually really on the fence about watching it but was tempted due to all the comparisons it was having to The Untamed, and now I'm basically sold! Thanks for the great review! I just finished watching it the second time. The first time, I fast forwarded quite a bit to move on to the next romantic scene😆but as you mentioned there are so many details that I didn’t quite understand the plot until I watched it a second time. And even then, as a non mandarin speaker, even with subtitles, I had to pay close attention.
Really surprised this show hasn’t been censored, dunno whether it’s still available in China due to the zhan Zhehan ban

Yes, I actually already had the Youku VIP (from my days of watching Street Dance of China with Yibo) but I paid the extra $0.99 multiple times to watch certain episodes in advance..lol. And yes I've seen snippets of Advanced Bravely - Gong Jun looked so much younger back in those days!

I enjoyed it very much but was a little disappointed with the last ep. I too fell for Simon Gong's character (Wen Ke Xing) and couldn't take my eyes off him. I will definitely watch this again and soon.

Did you watch it fully on Youku? Because I’ve heard that the UA-cam version is much less touched by censorship. Thus, there are a few scenes that are slightly different when it comes to the main couple. It is worth your time if you are a fan of it.
