My summary of what pastor John just showed us:
    Same Way of Thinking
Christ suffered on the cross to take our sins upon himself. We, by an act of God in the Spirit, were crucified and for that reason took on the same suffering, though we may not realize it. Paul said "We know this, that we were crucified" Rom 6:6-7. Peter said we now live to righteousness because we have been made whole because of the suffering in Christ's flesh that took place 1:Pe 2:24. The same flesh of Christ suffering that abolished the law of commandments and decrees that were our source of violation and trespass. Eph 2:14-15. Thank's pastor. I forever had something entirely different in my mind about what it meant to suffer in the flesh. May God empower his people to see this and live in righteousness as children of light. Amen.

This is my paraphrase of 1Pe 2:24 after looking at a Greek/English interlinear: "Who (Jesus), the sins of us, upon himself took, in his body, on the cross, for this purpose; in that, we were dead because of sins, to righteousness we now live. His wounds made us whole."

Scripture relates that Jesus was born without sin and that He lived His entire life without sinning, however it definitely is not relating that His followers will always sin as many lost and sinful souls desire to believe. Scripture is actually stating the exact opposite of that utter nonsense and it is relating that a disciple of Jesus Christ needs to learn how to overcome their sins. There are many scriptures that use terms like, do not sin, has died to sin, has ceased from sin, cannot keep on sinning and cannot sin and all of these terms are used when describing a follower of Jesus Christ. But yet over and over you will find many lost and deceived believers claim that they can never stop sinning. Many of these deceived believers often try to justify their sin by twisting scriptures like 1 John 1:8-10 or Romans 3:10, 3:23 and 7.
So allow me to expose their ignorance and their lies and I will start with what 1 John 1:8-10 is actually relating.
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭1:8-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Since we are all born in sin and in ignorance of God’s word and truth John was relating how anyone who claims that they have never sinned at some time in their life is then deceived and they do not understand the truth that is being related in scripture. John was then saying that if would repent and confess our sins to God then God is faithful to forgive us of our sins and He would then cleanse us from living a sinful and unrighteousness life. John then related that anyone who believes that they have never sinned in this life is then calling God a liar. But nowhere is John ever relating that a believer will always continue to sin or that a believer could never overcome their sins as the children of the devil often desire to believe.
Now in Romans 3:10 since we are all born in sin Paul quoted the Old Covenant Psalm 53 scripture where it related that no one is righteous since it is impossible to achieve righteousness through our sinful flesh. This is why we need to possess the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ in our lives since we can only achieve righteousness by allowing His Holy Spirit to guide us. Now in regards to Romans 3:23 Paul simply related how we all fall short of the glory of God since once again we are all born in sin and in ignorance of God’s word and truth. And once again, nowhere are these scriptures ever relating that a believer can never stop sinning though.
Now for some reason many deceived believers think that Paul was relating that he could never stop sinning in Romans 7 and these people simply reveal just how clueless and deceived they certainly are. In Romans 7 Paul was relating how hard it was for him to stop sinning in his previous life since he was living by his sinful flesh under the law. Paul then related how he was freed from following his sinful flesh desires by truly knowing Christ and living through His Holy Spirit. These clueless souls clearly overlook how Paul related that he had died to sin and that he was no longer a slave to sin in Romans 6 and they also overlook how Paul related that if you continue to live by your sinful flesh instead of living through the Spirit then you will certainly die in Romans 8.
“So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:4-6‬ ‭NIV
“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:5-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Sometimes those who are deceived and who continue to sin will try and offer 1 John 2:1 as the justification for their sin.
“My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
In the above scripture John is simply relating that because we all will sin at some time in our lives that Jesus is the atonement for our sins and He certainly is not relating that we can never stop sinning.
God commanded us to live holy and righteously and this can only occur if we learn how to stop sinning! Scripture describes how we all have sinned and how we all fall short of the glory of God and that is absolutely correct since we are all born in sin and ignorance. The problem with most believers is that they lack knowledge of scripture and so they simply remain in their sin and their ignorance their entire lives since they never truly allow the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ into their lives and they never allow the Spirit to teach them how to overcome their sins.
Jesus told us that He did not come to call on the righteous. Why? Because a righteous person is someone who does not sin and who lives Holy and righteously just as God commanded. Jesus stated that He came to call sinners to repentance and repentance meant to never sin ever again. Realize that an unrighteousness person is someone who still sins and they someone who is then evil and wicked in the eyes of God. They clearly are someone who has never allowed the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ to teach them how to overcome their sins so that they would stop sinning. This is why anyone who continues to sin is simply a liar and a unbeliever and they will certainly perish for all eternity.
“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭NKJV
“For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
    ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭6:9-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.””
    ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:6-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
There are no scriptures that ever relate that a sinner can be a child of God and there are no scriptures that ever relate that a sinner belongs to God. Scripture makes it very clear that anyone who sins belongs to the devil and anyone who belongs to God cannot and does not sin.
“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”
    ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So you cannot possibly be a sinner who is a Christian and you are certainly clueless and deceived if you foolishly believe so.

Hey Mike, grace and peace to you from Christ. I read this comment of yours and I understand what you’re saying, although I have a question for you. That is - do you think it’s possible for a Christian to never sin again, and for those who do stumble into sin, does that mean they’re not really Christians?

@@a.kamileon the majority of believers are deceived and they certainly are not Christians because they have not overcome their sin.
Realize that Jesus was the only person who was born without sin but this certainly does not mean that a true believer can never stop sinning. Anyone who truly possesses the Holy Spirit possesses the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and they can certainly overcome any obstacle in this lifetime, especially sin.
Jesus did not sin nor did Jesus ever get sick and if you are someone who is truly being guided by His Holy Spirit then it would be impossible for you to sin or to get sick as well. So anyone who foolishly believes that they can never stop sinning is certainly proving that they are just an unbelieving child of Satan because they will not believe that overcoming sin through the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ is possible.
“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
      ‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.”
      ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭4:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”
      ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:4-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So scripture clearly states that whoever sins does not know God. Scripture also relates that whoever sins is of the devil. Next, scripture relates that whoever abides in God and is born of God cannot sin and does not sin so this describes a child of God like myself! Lastly, scripture clearly relates that sin is lawlessness and Jesus plainly stated in Matthew 7 that anyone who practices lawlessness shall not enter the kingdom of God. So anyone who believes that they can never stop sinning is simply a deceived believer who does not understand a thing in regards to scripture or the blessing that Jesus provided for all of mankind.
Realize that we are all born in sin and God commanded us to overcome our sinful life by living a holy and righteous life through His Holy Spirit. This is why we needed a savior to teach us how to stop sinning and this is exactly what Jesus, Peter, Paul and John are relating to us in scripture.
Now since many deceived believers cannot comprehend what scripture is relating they will often twist scripture verses like 1 John 1:8-10 to try and justify why their wicked souls still sin.
John was then saying that if we would repent and confess our sins to God then God is faithful to forgive us of our sins and He would then cleanse us from living a sinful and unrighteousness life. John then related that anyone who believes that they have never sinned in this life is then calling God a liar. But nowhere is John ever relating that a believer will always continue to sin or that a believer could never overcome their sins as you children of the devil often desire to believe.
The children who live in sin and who belong to the devil often like to use Paul as their justification for their sinful life. These lost souls are so deceived that they cannot comprehend what Paul was relating in scripture and so they will often twist the meanings of Romans 3:10, 3:23 and 7. They fail to realize that in Romans 7 Paul was relating how hard it was for him to stop sinning in his previous life since he was living under the law. He then related how he was freed from following his sinful flesh by truly knowing Christ and living through His Spirit. These clueless souls are clearly overlooking how Paul related that he had died to sin and that he was no longer a slave to sin in Romans 6 and they also overlook how Paul related that if you continue to live by your sinful flesh instead of living through the Spirit then you will certainly die in Romans 8. Now in regards to Romans 3:10 Paul was simply relating that none of us are righteous since we are all born in sin and this is why we needed a savior to teach us how to stop sinning. Romans 3:23 is actually stating the same exact thing since Paul was relating how we are all born in sin and so we all fall short of the glory of God.
“So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.”
      ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:14-16‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬
Sometimes these children of the devil will even use Romans 6:23 to justify why they sin and they clearly have no idea that this scripture is relating that if you sin then you will eternally die, hence “the wages of sin is death.”
Some others will even try to use 1 John 2:1-2 to try and justify why they still sin.
In the above scripture John is simply relating that because we all will sin that Jesus is the atonement for our sins and He certainly is not relating that we can never stop sinning.
Nowhere are any of the above scriptures ever relating that a believer can never stop sinning or that we will always continue to sin. Anyone who continues to sin certainly does not understand what Jesus related in Matthew 5 and 18 since Jesus clearly stated that we needed to remove whatever part of our flesh that was causing us to sin. Jesus made it very clear that it was better for us to live a life in this world with a maimed body that did not sin then it would be to possess a complete body that still sinned. This is because Jesus related how the person who continued to sin would then be cast into the fires of hell.
“If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:29-30‬ ‭NKJV‬
“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.”
      ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
So this is the difference between a believer who is a Christian and a believer who is deceived. A deceived believer thinks that they will always sin and they will always have sickness in their life. A true Christian on the other hand knows they can overcome sin and sickness by living their life exactly “like Christ” through His Holy Spirit. Now understand that there are very very few of us who are truly Christians and this explains why scripture relates that only a remnant will be saved.
“And Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: “Though the number of the sons of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will be saved.”
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭ESV‬‬

@@mikerutkowski7265 it’s sad to read your prideful comments my friend and it’s people like you who sin more often.. Look at how you misinterpreted 1 John 1:8-9 and that’s because of the pride of your heart.. I won’t bother posting verses to proof you wrong but know this my friend, if you say you have no sin as we speak, you’re a liar and the Spirit of truth is not in you, if you claim to be have been perfected, then you’re also a liar and you know not God or His Christ.. It’s people like you that God before God and boast about your righteousness instead of seeking grace to be more conformed into the image of Christ.. There’s no saint who hasn’t struggled with sin, the righteous we are told falls 7x but you’re saying the righteous cannot fall at all let alone 7x, those who sit under your doctrine will leave in fear of their salvation till the day they die because they’re not as perfect as their teacher.. With all the sins the Corinthian church had, Paul never told them that they were children of the devil but here comes you who see yourself as the perfect one condemning those for whom Christ has died.. We are called to walk in the spirit and not the flesh doesn’t mean those who act in the flesh are satan’s children..
      .
If you read Revelation 2 & 3, you’d see churches that were in sin and Jesus never called them children of the devil like you’re doing, rather He calls them to repentance, but how can those who are saved repent since they cannot sin according to your doctrine? Jesus even said those He loves, He chastises, why will He chastise a sinner since they’re the children of the devil? You took simple text of scripture to mean something the Spirit never intended to say because you’re glorying in your acts of righteousness
      .
How can there be erring brothers whom we are to call back if a brother cannot be in error? You speak as if once one comes to the truth, he cannot sin anymore, or even be caught up in snare for a season.. I believe that those who come to this page have knowledge of sound doctrine and will easily spot your lies and turn away from you.. Jesus told us to strive for righteousness, there will no need to strive if we are made perfect once we believe
