- We got martial arts expert, David Christian from The Modern Martial Artist to break down some of Black Widow's fight scenes, picking apart her combat skills and explaining how some of her more flamboyant moves aren't as unrealistic as you may think.

That parkour move she did was a kong gainer. In all practicality, it would make sense to leave out the gainer and just do a dash vault into the kick. Its faster execution, and would utilize more of the speed from the initial run up.

The "kipping throw" she uses is also actually a real technique if someone is lifting you or very stiff, strong, and hard to throw. It places your weight too far forward for them to continue the lift, like trying to hold a flagpole with a weight at the far end. It gets your feet back on the ground so you can counter-throw.

Most, if not all, of Black Widow's takedowns have been done by various wrestlers, mostly the Lucha Libre ones. It's interesting how many people don't know that or where those moves come from.

Can't remember the name of the technique in the second move, but it's close to Ruesi Bod Ya in Muay Thai/Mauy Boran.
Saenchai has used it a few times, sometimes he drops the elbow, sometimes literally a kiss

@@MsKeylas it is quite hard. In order to actually break someone's are like that would require you to push with a ridiculous amount of force while the other person's arm is already completely extended. You would also have to do this before the other person slightly bends their elbow.

Suplex into an armbar is a normal Judo follow-up.... 🤷 Like every Judo throw can be followed up with a leg lock, arm lock or a choke (depending on the throw) It only looks weird cuz he's against the Cage. If he was in the middle of the Ring it would have been even smoother probably. Great throw, perfect execution. 💯 Normal judo technique. Just done exceptionally well and under miserable conditions. Check out Rhonda's win comp. she regularly throws those people and lands them into arm bar. It's not uncommon in an Olympic judo match either.... The only exception would be when you slam them on their back because that's a pain and you would just stop anyway. But a throw-in do a submission position is totally normal for judo. Black widows flying throw I'm unconvinced whether or not it works.... 🤷
