I don't know if this has already been discussed or that it is much of a secret, but if you notice in the beginning of the game Arthur and Dutch's living spaces (tents) were right next to each other. From Coulter to Clemens Point. After those chapters and how noticeably distant Arthur and Dutch are becoming, so are their living spaces. By the time you get to Beaver Hollow, they are on complete opposite sides of the camp.
Damn I never would've observed that! Thanks for sharing!
Added this to the Red Dead Wiki. Thanks for the input! Spot on!
Damn, yeah that is a detail, nice catch, its no coincidence too
Damn thanks for this information !
Jesus. The level of detail in this game is insane. What a masterpiece. If an MMO Developer ever put as much love and effort into their game as Rockstar put into RDR2 it would blow peak WoW out of the water.
The Skinners Deity could've been a huge focus in a hypothetical undead nightmare 2. Same with night folk...Marko's Robot.... Mutant taxidermy creature and Dracula. Sigh....
Red dead 3 man. There’s still a chance idk. Lol
Ghosts, aliens, witches, pagans, indian rituals. Too much ignored. Undead Nightmare 2 would've done just as well. Instead we got that stupid online crap.
I will never understand why y'all want another Undead Nightmare.
How about something original for once?!
It's yet another thing they could have done with online instead of what they chose to do. It would really give people a reason to buy and play it off that was where all the new/cut content was added in.
Yeah you could have hunted them like the mythical creatures in undead nightmare like bigfoot or chupacrabra
The first detail adds an intriguing layer of depth to the Skinners imo. I never heard that dialogue priorly, so I assumed there were just a bunch of barbaric killers with not much reason behind their murders beyond basic survival thru pillaging and psychotic enjoyment.
They definitely seem inspired by some of the events in the book Blood Meridian. Actually there are a number of references to that book in the gamw
@@lucidlocomotive2014 Intriguing, what are some of things that make you say the Skinners seem inspired by Blood Meridian ?
@@themadtitan7603 the “crimes scenes” that they leave behind, that you discover in the woods, with people tied and burned alive and scalped, as well as the methods they use to kill, torture, and scalp people, and the sheer brutality in general is very reminiscent of a lot of the events in the book, which brought a lot more mainstream awareness of the insane cruelty and violence of scalp hunters in the 19th century, as well as of certain of the more aggressive Native American tribes (sorry Dutch but not all of them were simply retaliating oppression. most were, or were pacifistic, but many of them were completely brutal and unimaginably evil in their methods, Bill might have been right about what he saw).
Also based on their attire and weapons and methods and the scalping and all of that, they are very obviously inspired by some of these more violent Native American tribes. It seems that they were intended to be the “gang” that was supposed to be a native tribe, like how the night folk are a voodoo Haitian tribe, but Rockstar probably couldn’t (or didn’t want to) make them fully native because of the potential controversy it would cause, so they had to add some white and black people to them. But it does look like most of them are native.
@@lucidlocomotive2014 Thanks for the detailed response, I appreciate it. I had assumed that maybe the Murfees could've also been influenced by that material when I was reading the first paragraph of your reply due to them having a similar way of mutilating and killing travellers that roam in what they deem their territory in the forests of Roanoke Ridge, I assume particularly the more northern parts which they dub "Murfee Hills". But I do not know how accurate that is and it's simply me speculating. Also I have heard of the Skinners being possibly the game's stand-in for the more barbaric Native American tribes before and I always saw it as a very plausible theory if not pretty much the intention.
Especially that there's a random event in the Great Plains region where you see a wagon slowly strolling and when going to investigate, they'll see a dead wagon driver with multiple arrows all over his back. The thing that makes me wonder, is if they specifically made the Skinners a stand in (if that was even the point and it wasn't Rockstar just mixing different real-life elements like they usually and creating a new gang) to avoid a potential controversy, wouldn't the fact that there's also a more pacifistic depiction of Natives in the Wapiti tribe negate said controversy and they could've made the Skinners just natives? I'm aware that it's probably a difficult and pressuring decision most ways they tackle it but I'm merely curious. You did mention there were some native Americans in the Skinner gang but I don't recall coming across such NPCs in their ranks, but I could've missed them.
@@themadtitan7603 yeah I agree that the fact we have peaceful tribes in the game should have negated accusations of “racism” or whatever that would come from having more violent tribes. In my personal opinion, they definitely should have just made the skinners a native tribe. However, the media and a large portion of the general population don’t think that way unfortunately, and would definitely lose their minds over such a thing. In fact, in the past Rockstar was sued by the Haitian community for depicting Haitians in GTA Vice City as a rival gang. I think they lost the lawsuit for defamation or something like that, and as a result they have to re-release an updated version of the game that censors all the dialogue lines about Haitians, and renames the Haitian gang. I would guess that in the case of the Skinners, if they were intended as a stand-in for natives, they probably wanted to avoid a potential lawsuit which costs a lot of time and money. I doubt it was just the prospect of controversy alone, since controversy itself is great advertisement. Also, with Rockstar being so much larger today than they were in 2002, they have to worry more about what shareholders think, and stuff like that.
Man. If only i could just wipe my memory and play this game with 0 knowledge of what’s going to happen. Over and over again. What a masterpiece this game is, honestly!
Thanks The Strange Man for making my day once again ❤️
Such a good point. I play this game almost everyday and can still remember that first night seeing those graphics in the snow storm. Just knew it was gonna be epic
@@IAMthatIAM992 Same. Still remember how excited i was to go out hunting and exploring as soon as i arrived in Horseshoe Overlook
Same, and I wish the ending wasn't spoiled for me either 💀
I said this the other day
Deep
The horses don't only sweat (the amount differs depending on how hard and far they've been pushed) but they also change leading leg when cantering/galloping round bends in the road. To most gamers this will be totally missed, but to those of us who are also equestrians this attention to detail is most pleasing.
If it’s not too much of a pain in the ass, would you mind explaining what that means? Do horses prefer a different leg hit the ground first depending on the direction they’re turning?
@@williamjoyce4313 horse rider here! So the leading leg will switch depending on which way you are cantering. The leading leg should always be the leg that is on the inside. It will stretch out farther than the outside leg. So that means, that if a horse is cantering in a circle to the right, its right leg will stretch out further, and vice versa. Otherwise, the canter will feel unbalanced, and weird.
@@ari1758 Damn, that’s interesting. I gotta try to look for that the next time I pick up this game.
Thank you for the explanation!
@@williamjoyce4313 no problem! I can’t believe I never noticed it before but it’s such a great detail.
@@ari1758 Thank you
It's sad that we're now coming to the time in the games life cycle where there is not much new to be found, granted there may be a few new details/secrets left but I feel with people like the Strange Man who are so diligent, R* won't be able to keep them hidden for long.
All the secrets have been found in Witcher 3. So not to long before they are found in RDR2. Honestly its impressive when games can have new things found years later.
I thought this like 2 years ago but strange man keeps finding things
Al of that was founded half year after release.
Let's just hope he can find another game to find all the secrets of
@@ntfoperative9432 well probably when red dead redemption 3 will be released we might the find some more answers about this
playing red dead redemption slowly and taking ur time with everything feels so right, i been in chapter 2 for weeks! and i still haven’t gotten to the eastern side of the map or encountered the skinners, i’m playing all missions first, doing all camp activities, hunting and fishing animals, and unlocking everything u can at a slow burn. the game does a good job at throwing the random encounters at you naturally and doesn’t feel forced at all!
best way
Play as slowly as you can in this game.
Take your time so that when you're done, it'll be the best gaming experience you've ever had.
I love this game
The skinners are out West. You won't encounter them until the epilogue. You're doing it right though! Skinners aside, there are plenty of other gangs you'll encounter including some just as sinister and nearly as vile as the Skinners out East and down South. For now, you focus on doing what you're doing. And keep stacking up those Odriscoll scum.
I was the same way with skyrim and RDR1. In RDR1 I would take John and just have him ride around the map on horseback, or have him ride the train. Sometimes Just go to the Tall Trees area and take him hunting. It was a great experience.
In skyrim I would take my character and set him down in an inn and just listen to the music and conversations there. It was also the first time that I found out if you sit in a chair or on a bench in the inn, the barmaid would come over and ask if you wanted something to eat or drink. Hundreds of hours in that game and I didn't know about that mechanic. I loved it. I would also do the walking and hunting in that game too. Trade the meat and hides in town, do some crafting. It was great. I wished I could've done more living off the land in that game, but I was on a ps3 at the time, so no mods.
Crashed wagon guy: IIRC, he lives in Lenora Cabin (the blue house just up from where that cliff is) and if you loot his body, he has a wedding certificate and/or a wedding photo of him and his new bride. After a few in game days, go back to Lenora Cabin and there will be a letter lying on the porch; it's from his new wife. He was on his way to pick her up from her mother's and she can't understand why he never turned up (I think the tone of the letter makes it sound like she thinks he has abandoned her). 🥺
Drunk Valentine guy: if you assist him home, his wife has locked him out of the house, he pukes on the porch and then passes out! 😂
Awesome profile pic man
He lays down in the puke too, pretty funny.
They should add alligator attacking alive people animation, that is lame as of now in the game
Feeding corpses to the gators in the swamp is something I find myself doing almost everytime I play RDR2. Don't want them going hungry now.
For that, shoot the people rowing in a boat around the swamp, they die, Gator jumps over the boat and get them, and so you get no bounty
@@nikhildixit5551 no that's terrible!! 😅 I always try to k!ll only with a good reason.. like being rude etc. Or bad men like the Grays. Then throw them to the gators.
This game is 4 years old and there are still new things being discovered.🤯
No. He reuses these.
Damn this game got old… Time sure does fly but the good thing is that it ages like wine!
@@the.average.students not all of them.
I know right ?
@@drk_tobbbi2939 A good amount if you go back to some of the original episodes
There’s a lot more to the story about the guy who went over the cliff. You can search through the remains and there’s a note in a box down there. It can lead you back to his cabin and there’s more to the story
@idk yea i recognized that
Fun fact, if you follow the man who shouts that he's going to town to tell the sheriff, he doesn't tell anyone, he just rides straight through Strawberry and keeps going.
@@unwaveringflame2482 what if it was His daughter that guy was on his way to marry ? 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
@@unwaveringflame2482 I seen him and didn't know where the body was. Can I still find his body or no?
@@unwaveringflame2482 lol if he actually told the sherrif, it wouldve been insane, but i wouldnt be surprised, its rockstar were talking about, its like they study us on what we might experiment with in the game, because every idea you make up in yourhead, 3ven without the game telling you, it actually works and is a thing in the game, like Alligators taking corpses... My first time i did that i just did it with imagination of feeding people to aligators, only to find out the alligator actually takes the corpse.. and when i was struck by lightening, i thought it was a bug or glitch
Isn't it obvious? They worship Gavin.
Jokes aside. The Prince of Darkness title is usually associated with Satan. Considering that the Skinners are pure evil, I say this checks out.
Not even bro! They obviously worship Ozzy Osborne
@@joshthepatriot1869 Fiddlesticks! If they worship pure evil then you know they must worship Hillary and the Democratic Party
@@imadrifter lmao yeah you are right 😂😂🔥💯
They should add alligator attacking alive people animation, that is lame as of now in the game
x"D they workship Gavin killed me
I got that line from the bartender too and I never misled the drunk man
Same here
Did you ever ignore him? I think he just kinda...wanders off to the barn if you don't help
Did yall follow him all the way?
Really, I am 101 percent certain he's not gonna stop finding these
I feel like it's getting more and more difficult, personnaly I've seen most of these details before but the quality of his videos are still excellent so I watch them anyways
So glad to come back to this channel. I've just recently got back into Red Dead Online, even though there's nothing new, just playing with friends. And roaming around during missions led us to talk about all the easter eggs, mysteries and locations that hold significant importance to characters from story mode and even RDR1.
The fact that this channel is still releasing videos just shows how packed of stuff this game is. Even though the game has been rated very positively and even considered one of the best ever. I still feel that it's massively underated by how much this game has.
Keep up the work, Strange Man.
Crashed wagon: In front of his cabin you will find a letter that informs about the background!
He's already told us this so he only pointed out what he hadn't already
Speaking of whistling, I found an audio in the audios file and one list had Arthur’s different whistles but a couple of them I never heard in game before. They went by the name owl hoot or something like that but it was Arthur making the noises. Just wanted to share this to everyone. I thought it was interesting.
He can whistle too when you're aiming for animal that doesn't spot you, maybe it's from that
The Skinner one sounds like a cool idea for a good Western Horror. One where the horror mostly focuses on the actions of the Skinners itself and the Deity(Strange Man) being the threat that is only slightly but effectively implied in the background.
Hey strange man, I love your vid, and I think you're great, keep the good work!
I love your content, even years after the RDR2 release and numerous campaigns I find new detail and beauty of the game through your immaculate detective work. Thank you sincerely!
Hey strange man I don’t know if you’ve covered this before but I think trelawny and Arturo Bullard know each other. In the mission “ the new south” you can have a conversation with Dutch and hosea about how they found trelawny in an outhouse fallen Ill to a rotten oyster. When you meet Arturo he has the discussions about ablutions and mentions he had a client get sick on the ascent due to a rotten oyster. 🤔
This is actually one of the few episodes I knew everything in it
I doubt its the Strange Man the Skinners worship as he isn't entirely evil.
Then they may just be devil worshippers
That doesn't necessarily mean they don't worship him; only that their worship of him isn't directed by him.
He's connected to deathly events and the correlation --> causation logical fallacy is inherent in humanity.
For all we know, if the strange man does represent Satan, there's only one book telling us he is evil and it's pretty one sided if you ask me
@@guillaumejoop6437 strange man isn't Satan. He's the grim reaper. Or death itself.
@@guillaumejoop6437 rockstar said hes not satan
3:52
..
Dutch : "JeSUs, Which one of your son's books cover feeding a feller to a God damn alligator, Jaaan? "
The Prince Of Darkness that the Skinner Brothers refer to is Satan. It's a term that was used in John Milton's poem Paradise Lost.
I realized another details about horses. When they're spook their pupills become smaller and when they're calm it's normal.
I love this game since 2019, and I'll never change my opinion that rdr2 is my favourite game ever (only rdr3 can beat it), and in the future i'll tell my kids about this masterpiece
The funniest part in detail at 7:47
2:18 Anyone notice his horse's name is "Hope You're All Having A Great Day!"?
Details I just found in game:
The puddles around little creek river fill up when it rains, and are dry when it’s sunny.
Shooting the meteor in the crater north-east of the map makes a sound that’s not present when shooting normal stones.
Also on the east side of the boat on the "w" of BlueWater Marsh the rocking chair actually rocks when you touch it
Strange man’s vids are always instant click :) keep up the great work my man!
That’s cause Strange Man always has new contact unlike certain clickbait UA-camrs
@@luissantiago3928 agreed
What a wonderful game this is. A masterpiece.
Im sure youve already heard this before, but your editing is crazy good. Just this video's intro is pure gold.
I love the content and the editing makes it even better. Amazing work, congrats!
Seeing the Skinners questioning their actions makes me believe some of them are still humans.
Year 2060: I am playing with my grand kids.
UA-cam notification: 20 new details found in RDR2. 😅
The Strange Man being the Prince of Darkness is one of your best theories. Really pushed that he's not God but an aspect of Death, both literally (knows when and where people will die) and as the death of the wild west outlaw life (dressed for the more civilized future)
A detail regarding the Skinners. Do you think the god they speak of is the player, or how Rockstar envisions the sadistic side of the player? Even Arthur, acknowledges a dark side, a primal urge to do evil things. He says from time to time, words and phrases as if he's lost control of his own body as we the player control him to do these acts.
The stuff with the skinners just keeps pushing me towards my theories with Gertrude.
Also the serial killer music from story mode is the same music they use for the ummm the what are the called, the things from the Halloween event online, those guys. It’s the same music. Thought that was cool, realized it the other day.
Love the fact that at 2:18 the horse's name is 'Hope You're All Having A Great Day!' 😂
I look forward to these videos. Hope they never stop coming as the game never stops giving...
So many outcomes in this game. I have done every little thing I know to do in the story mode so I hope on everyone and awhile to enjoy the game.
This game is amazing. And your work too, thank you
I’m sure this is a glitch but sometimes when Arthur is fighting Wolves he will yell, “Damn O’Driscolls!” 😂
Apparently the Wolves are also part of Colm’s gang! 😂🤣
My lord this game's world is just massive
It’s amazing and beautiful
Extremely well editing and ties between details, really enjoyable to watch
fastest sub ive ever made not even a minute in and im heavily impressed with the content so far. very well done.
Fantastic video as always Strange Man, you never cease to impress.
The whistling reminded me of another detail.
-When whistling for your horse, it will change based on how far your horse is from you. If it’s far away or not within your vicinity, they’ll whistle as normal. And when the horse is close (aka right with you), they’ll just talk instead (“come here”,”let’s go”,”let’s get out of here”) with clicks instead of whistling.
But when wanted by the law, they’ll both hush down. Whistling is standard (If I remember right) but when the horse is close, they’ll talk but more quietly. Same goes if you get your horse to flee.
When you lose your wanted level, they’ll go back to talking normally.
Quite standard details, but important details nonetheless
Edit: For the horse sweat one, while it only appears standardly by running, I found that it just appears when riding through the swamps around Saint Denis probably due to the humidity. Never seen that happen on any other place on the map (aka when the horse is not galloping).
Edit II: as for the Skinner Brothers dialogue, I found that you can overhear some interesting dialogue if you find enemy gangs like the O’Driscolls or the Raiders camping out in the wild (aka outside of their hideouts/permanent camps) and sneak in on them
My favorite detail at 3:58
The last detail is amazing,it shows how serious R* was with honor and moral choices, glad I take that very serious as well.
The valantine drunk when you fool him is just to funny... wrong house buddy 🤣🤣🤣
I experienced that crashed wagon yesterday! It was the first time I encountered that; I always met the guy on the road.
The horses don't just sweat in the heat either, if you ride them hard in Ambarino the sweat makes steam as it evaporates. Remember, it's important to brush your horse often. I even remove the saddle when I camp at night, like any good horseman would.
Also, there is more to the man who crashed his wagon off of the cliff. If you loot him, you'll find the picture of his fiance. He was heading into town to get married, but didn't make it. I've been wondering if you can find his bride-to-be in Strawberry...
The Keane saloon owner will say that to Arthur whether or not you mislead or assist the drunk because he has said it every time I've played and I've never misled the guy
What a nice way to close off my Sunday, with a video from Strange Man
Yet another superb video .... Man, I wish strange man keep posting and finding more new tiny small details
Something I noticed is when you lead your horse, it's ears go forward. I think this means a positive mood? Perhaps happiness :)
Finally one that isn't a clickbait channel all I seem to find are mrbossftw and saintsfan videos I don't have time for their clickbait
What is the name of the song that plays at the intro? AWESOME work my friend on the videos too!Congratulations!
7:00 damn, the door slowly closed, that creepy
3:30 "dialogue is different" the damn dialogue is pretty much the same! Lmao
Fizhy and Strange Man uploaded RDR2! IM SO HAPPY
How to know the editor of the video is good? When the very first second of the video already makes you feel good. Love videos with good music timing
Another fun fact about the whistling is that it's longer if you hold down the button versus just tapping it, despite there seemingly being no mechanical difference between the two.
These vids are just so good one of the best on youtube! I still get amazed with everything i missed and still am learning keep up the good work!❤️🙏
Well, for the last one. Dude knocked out or died in valentine. So one way or another, people in town has to know what happened to him in a day or two. ı mean owner of the that place has to know in next day, right?
So because nobody knows, it seems like, that place owner took his body for some reason or someone who wakes up really early. Maybe that girl who kills men for fun. Maybe she found him, killed him(because his knocked out) and feed him to the pigs.
He didn’t get knocked out. He’s listed as a corpse on the map
@@idk5716 Maybe but correct me if I’m wrong but sometimes if you knockout an npc you can stay for awhile and eventually they wake up I’ve never really tried to see what happens but im pretty sure I’ve seen it happen in a video somewhere
@@Liqhtmare They can wake up. But the guy in the video that got kicked by the horse is dead.
we have been waiting for this 🥺
Since Arthur died… whilst I went through tall trees I never ran into the Skinner Brothers. If I happened to run across the bastards I’m the scariest thing out here.
The Valentine Drunkard dies if you mislead him to The Stables which makes his wife cry to the bartender asking where he is. But if you lead him home, his wife locks him out and leaves him there to sleep in his own puke.
Yeah, she loves him but is sick of his crap.
he still has content wow this game is amazing I really want a dlc
Why doesn't this man have 1mil subscribers yet?
You always love a good Red Dead Redemption video. Strange Man never fails in that.
Man,on the valentine drunk, idk, maybe I quit and restarted after I had done this, but swear he said the same thing after he fell asleep on his porch, his wife had yelled at him and wouldn’t let him in. So, what happened to him that time? Yeah.
2:24 omg i finally know what that white thingy is ty
great vid glad to see people who still talking about this game
I feel like you have already covered these in previous videos. I could be wrong. Thanks for the upload though!
I love when devs put in the extra work just an outstanding product
How to trigger the civil war battlefield ghost sounds
I hope this game shows what good things are to come in GTA6. I hope they don’t overwork themselves like the developers making RDR2.
It's finally solved: they worship OZZY OSBOURNE
I saw a beer commercial yesterday that reminded me of your opening music, weirded me out. Something about it seemed similar.
Wow , the work you put in this. Amazing
For the last detail, the drunk man you can mislead to the horse stable.. Is there any connection between him and the woman that can randomly confront you in valentine, she accuses you of killing her husband. I’ve had that encounter a couple of times but I’m not sure if they’re connected to one another or not.
Great videos too I very much enjoy your work thank you!
No there NOT connected, that interaction with the woman triggers if you get into a shootout in Valentine.
When I went to the saloon, I totally forgot about that poor fella I misled so I thought it was another mission or something
Excellent as always!
I don"t know if it's been in a video but when you do the last mission with John to catch Micah you can actually see a rat crossing in front of the door before Micah comes out of his hideout
Horse sweat really does foam up like that under the saddle too.
Wow, thanks for uploading a video on my birthday!
happy birthday
Feeding the gators is one of my favourite things to do in RDR2
I love these types of videos from you man!!
The skinners act like some of the more aggressive Native American tribes. They seem like that’s what they’re supposed to be, but they couldn’t actually make them so for social/political reasons.
Somebody needs to tell Jack when he gets all riled up to keep his onesie on
2:55 If you go a little up following the road, you will find the house of this dead man and a letter in front of the door.
I like the nod to the Civil War ghosts. In spots where they do reenactments, people have said to hear strange voices as if someone was playing a recording of that time period! As a kid, I first stumbled upon this in a book ages ago, describing a woman who was driving through the area. She stopped in this open field and went out to gaze at the view. All of a sudden, she's terrified to realize men in Confederate and Union uniforms fighting in battle. All the cannon fire, gunshots and screams of the dying were far too real and, in one crazy moment, a soldier stops and LOOKS DIRECTLY AT HER, charging at her as if to attack before she falls back in terror, only to realize it stopped! The people and ghastly weapons were gone, as if they never existed! The whole thing was like a time capsule!
"wrong house buddy" idk why but that cracked me up
Drunk man:ohh my beautiful wife
Horse:So you have chosen to pass out
I have two curiosities that may be interesting, first, during the Saint Denis bank robbery mission, Micah is the only one who wears a white tuxedo, this may be so that the Pirkentons identify him and do not shoot him. The second, the first time I arrived at the San Luis River and looked with the binoculars towards Mexico I could see a man on horseback, after that I looked towards the shore of Mexico about 100 more times but I never saw anyone again.
Fun fact: If you hogtie a nightfolk and throw them in front of a gator, the gator will approach it and then leave without touching it
Thank goodness for that arrow in the thumbnail. Otherwise I never would have noticed the alligator.
An extra detail to the drunk in Valentine, if you assist him he will eventually get home but as he is trying to get in his wife will be mad at him and not let him in because he stinks. Instead he will sit down by thr frontdoor and fall asleep lmao
when arthur gets tuberculosis his whistles get weaker then too! his stamina drains quicker than others and he coughs when eating dry foods like biscuits or crackers, he is also out of breath a lot quicker than he was in the chapters before
