Most of the band covers on UA-cam take it at a much slower tempo. i was timpani and it ruines the whole challenge aspect of it if you take this slow. the timpani part is amazingly fast for a 7th grader and i was looking at some of the people playing it on high school. i love play this part fast. soo much fun ! the solo was the bomb !
i just got assigned vibraphone on this song. i haven't practiced it with the band once. the concert is tomorrow.

I remembered I played this back in 8th grade. Now as a freshman in college I am taking music appreciation 101 and we have to do listening for songs in class + our own personal favorites. This was among my personal favorites and that sax and clarinet part really brought back some memories. Wow I'm so old now. lol

My school band started to learn this today. Everyone was anxious about it being hard except me. I'm that one nerdy kid who plays hard stuff after school and goes to summer music camps and stuff like that. I'm kind of nervous too because I'm in 7th grade and in the 7-8 band 7th graders are put 2nd unless an 8th grader is really bad and you switch places. That happened to me so now I'm the last 1st alto (sax). The 8th grader guy still has to write down what notes he plays and has no control over his volume, so he covers the whole saxophone section (7 altos 2 tenors and 1 baritone) well anyways I'm excited to play this song
my band (high school, ninth and tenth) is playing this at LGPE so good luck (hopefully your band remembers dynamics and how to play with staccatos)

When it comes to all the songs I've played in class in concert band this semester (this, encanto, with each sunset, Zia Zia, in all its glory, the thunderer, with each sunset, some other song we played but I forgot, prologue and Pomp (forgot the full name)) with my trombone, this was one of the best I've played. Now, the hardest one I've played ever this semester HAS to be Prologue, though, which we only have one rehearsal left (we only had three rehearsal total with the song,along with pomp) before we play live on TV in a few days. D:
I have 1st trombone on prologue, its so fast paced, MUCH faster than this, and its really hard when it comes to switching from a high Bb to something like an E in around a split second DX

+Sandman Straw woah I don't even remember leaving this comment lol, it's funny, high school honor band is coming up really soon. I do like marching band but honor band gives you bragging rights and it's pretty fun to play with different people
The call and response part is sooooooo awesome especially when the low brass joins in! Part 1 is a little difficult to play though (at least on Oboe) since it eventually takes Part 2's response.
