Enjoyed the tour. Interesting to know that Lincoln and Grant actually met outside on the porch. Always enjoy the drone shots. Thank you for posting this video. Be safe!
Thank you!
Appreciate your videos! Off the “beaten path” ….short but packed with historical “nuggets” BRAVO !!!
Thank you!
Excellent .
Interesting story.
There’s characteristics about this house that remind me of Mercer House in Savannah, Ga. I’ve always wanted to see Battersea in Petersburg. I hope you get the chance to see it while there. Nice tour, Chris. Thank you!
I’ll mark that down. Savannah is on my list for future trips. 👍
Beautiful home, hopefully it won’t fall into disrepair.
Reminds me of Centre Hill mansion, which is set back off the street in a similar way.
Great drone footage!👍
Thanks!
Love your show but u should show whole rooms more. We can see antiques at antique store
There are lots of great historical buildings/places in Petersburg. We taught at a private school about a block west and south of this Wallace house in the 70s. We had children from the army base at Ft. Lee. Too bad Petersburg doesn't have the money to sink into the old, 1800s homes. Don't forget to stop at the Blandford Church to see the Tiffany windows. Awesome.
Yeah, stopped by Blandford Church a couple years ago. Those windows are very impressive.
Like your drone shots.
Another great video!
Thank you sir!
You make much better videos than I do but you don’t have a traveling Bear so I think it balances us out a bit!

Alright, back in ole Virginny
I'm chuckling that you said you hope someone buys it and fixes it up. The house is listed on Vrbo and Airbnb, I kid you not. I went looking for a website, figured it was owned by a historical society or something like that. Nope. On Vrbo it says the property manager is the Thomas Wallace House Team. So the photos you used for the interior must have come from them, because they're the same ones on Vrbo.
We used to pass by Petersburg on the way to see my grandparents in Tidewater when I was a kid. Where you are looks nice. Passing by on 460 it looked like a total dump, haha
It has its good spots and bad spots lol
Incredible Magnolia Trees
A great video. You showed the place very well. Not many places left that Lincoln actually visited. Hopefully the historical society or Park Division take it over and make it a museum.
Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 15, 1865, so he couldn't have met with Grant on April 30, 1865.
April 3rd
Definitely in the south when you count 5 churches within the same shot.
🤣
Are churches bad?
@@daisydukes8252 who said that???? I just counted 5 churches. Let’s play a game. Do you see any more? See if you can beat my score. On your mark… get set… GO!!!!!!!!!!!
