Shame big loss to the drum and bass world I managed to get a hoodie just before I'm always wearing It. Big up bukem and Conrad representing everything I love about drum and bass. Even the UA-cam channel gone I loved that jazz'n album I can't find it
I have to say looking back at myself at this time is too flipping funny... Big love to all those who supported back in the days (Dan from INTENSE) BIG UPS
holy shit. this is incredible. i've been a Good Looking fan since 1996, which predates me becoming a soul jazz organist and a modular synthesiser builder. also i am very proud to have been at LTJ Bukem's 40th birthday party (gig) at Smartbar in Chicago IL USA. i gave him a piece of my work but i have no idea if it was ever of use to him. when i handed him my Post-Lawsuit Lowpass Filter i told him "i want you to know your work has influenced people to do more than just copy you, i am now making instruments." this doc is incredible. the bit with Intense, and Molly Duncan, is something i really neeeded earlier in my life. it's good to finally see this. i'm currently recording a small sound library for an as-yet-unreleased unreleased sampler/sequencer and we are reconstructing all of the primary breaks used by the masters of drum n bass. this has a very good feeling for me. there are people who may, because of my efforts, make new dnb with breaks recorded in my own studio ... and i hope this is a way to give back to the gestalt after benefiting from it for so long. thank you for posting it.
@@Arc.hitectureMusic still unreleased! Thank you for the kind words. If you want to hear my attempt at dnb, check out the final track on my first Knobcon live set on Bandcamp. Thanks!
That's cool man. I saw him twice in Chicago. Not sure what the club was at this point, but I made the trek from St. Louis (about 5 hours) both times to see him.
I never knew that the Earth series was the saving grace of GLR - Earth Volume 2 was the first album I ever heard and couldn't get enough of it. It's probably why I like jazz and drum & bass so much. Fantastic, rare insider look at such an influential label!
I notice sound cuts out from 35:57 to 36:45,guessing something to do with a pfm track? His music is cut from almost everything I here on UA-cam? Shame because his music absolutely bangs
When DNB was for everyone now since certain man step in, it’s gone wrong. Big up the original ravers, DJs and recent Chris Inp for calling out these latter day idiots
when the "jungle commission" had their little tantrum, thats when things went bad. there was a bit of a revival for interesting stuff in early millennium, then the mindless jump up crowd killed it again.
I've been a big house and techno fan for well over a decade. I've dabbled in DnB and have heard a handful of artists that I love but lately have been doing a deep dive into GLR. I can't believe this stuff has passed me by all this time, absolutely love it, so many timeless tracks.

I always liked this sort of music in video games growing up but never knew what it was called or where to find it until only a few years ago. I think if more people knew where to find the genre it would reach a much larger audience
Cheers, nice doc. Not seen this before, used to buy tunes every week from DJ Lee at Basement in Reading, Section 5 in London and Beggars Banquet in Kingston when Dave Jarvis now of Defected worked there. Used to get promos every week from Basement, had Photek, GLR, LGR, Renegade, Metalheadz, Precious materials, Basement, Moving Shadow all the cool labels etc etc still got all my vinyl. Will never get rid. Started off in the late 80s/early 90s going to Shoom, Oakenfold's Spectrum and Nicky Holloway's nights, then gradually in the mid 90s on to Blue note Mtealheadz sunday sessions, Fabio/Bukem's Speed nights. Crazy times for music.
I followed the intelligent scene right thru the 90s its a shame whats happened to bukem & conrad i just wish they could all get their heads together and bring it back.

Bukem is the reason i got and still into Drum & Bass. Seeen him performing 4 times this year. Always stunning!
