Bernie Sanders is a Democratic candidate for President of the United States. He is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote. Sanders previously served as mayor of Vermont’s largest city for eight years before defeating an incumbent Republican to be the sole congressperson for the state in the U.S. House of Representatives. He lives in Burlington, Vermont with his wife Jane and has four children and seven grandchildren.
Bernard “Bernie” Sanders was born in Brooklyn, New York, to immigrant parents and grew up in a small, rent-controlled apartment. His father came to the United States from Poland at the age of 17 without much money or a formal education. While attending the University of Chicago, a 20-year-old Sanders led students in a multi-week sit-in to oppose segregation in off-campus housing owned by the university as a Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) officer. In August of 1963, Sanders took an overnight bus as an organizer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee to hear Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “I Have a Dream” speech firsthand at the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
After graduation, Bernie moved to Vermont where he worked as a carpenter and documentary filmmaker. In 1981, he was elected as mayor of Burlington as an Independent by a mere 10 votes, shocking the city’s political establishment by defeating a six-term, local machine mayor. In 1983, Bernie was re-elected by a 21 point margin with a record amount of voter turnout. Under his administration, the city made major strides in affordable housing, progressive taxation, environmental protection, child care, women’s rights, youth programs and the arts. In 1990, Sanders was elected to the House of Representatives as the first Independent in 40 years and joined the Democratic caucus. He was re-elected for eight terms, during which he voted against the deregulation of Wall Street, the Patriot Act, and the invasion of Iraq.
In 2006, Sanders defeated the richest man in Vermont to win a seat in the U.S. Senate as an Independent. Known as a “practical and successful legislator,” Sanders served as chairman of the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs where he authored and passed the most significant veteran health care reform bill in recent history. While in the Senate, Sanders has fought tirelessly for working class Americans against the influence of big money in politics. In 2010, he gave an eight-and-a-half hour filibuster-like speech on the Senate floor in opposition to extending Bush-era tax breaks for the wealthy. In 2015, the Democratic leadership tapped Bernie to serve as the caucus’ ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee.
Known for his consistency on the issues, Senator Sanders has supported the working class, women, communities of color, and the LGBT community throughout his career. He is an advocate for the environment, unions, and immigrants. He voted against Keystone XL, opposes the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal, wants to expand the Voting Rights Act, and pass the Equal Rights Amendment.

yea, but the thing is that Bernie's videos are the only videos that's ever made sense. before Bernie I wasn't even motivated about politics ; I kept saying all politicians are the same. But bernie is an exception, he's trully an amazing human, and probably the most human man I have ever seen.

In many ways, Chris Wilson represents America in this story. We have a dark past in which we killed or abused parts of our planet and the living creatures that live on it. What brings us out of those dark days is someone who believes we can be a positive force in this world. We repent by making a master plan that leaves this world a better place than as we inherited it. The National Park story is very similar. We preserved something we nearly destroyed...and now they are the most beautiful thing we have. We have to keep turning these stories around, saving what we'll one day cherish.

This is the type of ad I waited for, for all my life. I would vote against the person who made attack ads or did push pull polls. I helped a no name run and I had hoped this bad stuff would not be. It was better for sure but still had issues at times.
Bernie is showing them how to do it right. I guess the guy is running again but I have no part in it. It almost destroyed a long time friendship.
It was then I realized no politic as we know it now will fix anything. Because they need money and PR to do it. Bernie may be changing that. Time will tell.
Because people are digging deep and donating to help create these beautiful pieces.
This is what a campaign ad should look like: showing people what issues that we need to address in order to move forward.

WOW! Every ad this campaign makes is extraordinary. This one, in particular, is moving! "Be bold and change the system."
This is one of the most important endorsements Bernie Sanders has received in this campaign. It is a microcosm of what America needs, a transformative miracle that goes against all odds. Chris Wilson and Bernie Sanders are like the Salmon who swim upstream in order to fulfill their destiny and renew the life of their species...we are all confronted with our own mortality and with the opportunity to live a life of meaning. I dare say that voting for Sanders and doing all we can to support the Sanders agenda, policies and values is the least we all must do if there is to be a future for America and for humanity as a whole. Those are the stakes.

Bernie, I am a Canadian, I live in Canada but I watch the American political system very closely. Because what effects you Americans also effects us Canadians. I live on the same planet as you and breath the same air as you do. Minimum wage effects us, climate change effects us, war effects us, hate effects us, division effects us. I am fearful for a Trump and or Clinton presidency and pray for you Bernie and the US citizens to rise up and stand with you in this movement. I would if I could but Canada has never had someone like yourself willing to do and or talk about the things that matter. Another Bernie ad that made me cry. Bernie more than any other politician knows that it's not about punishing and shaming people but about helping and rehabilitating them in order to create a better future for them and for society as a whole. The thing about Bernie Sanders that concerns me far more than his economic policies is his rhetoric. Bernie is all about dividing people up based on class warfare. How many times have you heard him talk about the wealthy like they were the enemy? How about when he talks about the political parties being "owned" by the corporations? In the 8 years of President Osama's administration we have seen skyrocketing social division as people have been pitted against each other. Every indication is that Bernie Sanders will be even worse. I strongly disagree, the bust movement is one of the very few leverages there is to stop the badly damaged Clinton campaign from getting the nomination. Trump is worse but under Clinton thing's are highly unlikely to get better as indicated by Clinton's historic behavior

I lived/worked in Baltimore for a few years. This hit me right in the gut.

This story is deep and personal. Itś this type of personal ad that speaks to me, like the Eric Garner´s daughter ad. I would be appalled if he wasn't tried as having killed in self defense, and as a minor. A life sentence is worse than the death penalty, and should be reserved as punishment for immoral crimes like human trafficking and others. Even the mass murderers or rapists most of the time just need mental rehab, or mental rehab from prison. We have to rethink the sentencing of crimes- all prison sentences should be less than they are. Bernie will beat Donald Trump.

Dustin Grant A couple of weeks ago Clinton had a 14 point lead over Bernie here. Strange though, because everyone I know is voting or Bernie. I've seen quite a few Bernie bumper stickers, hats, and buttons. Haven't seen any for Clinton. But she supposedly has the lead. Problem is, Bernie hasn't really campaigned here--which I understand. With California on the same day, I get why he is putting his emphasis there and not here.

Bernie is +1 over Hillary in a new poll out today. That means he could possibly get 60-65% in California. Depending on how the next few days go, maybe more. The average margin of error this election season has been 9.4. With so few real California polls out there, and him being +1 now, tells me it's going to be a blow out with at least a 10% margin. And there are 306 delegates up for grabs in other states too. If they are on the same page, he could take the whole thing with California.

Shadowbox D: Maybe that's why all the Hillary News today was about how Hillary is going to win big in Puerto Rico. No mention of California or NJ where a local paper did its own poll and Bernie blew Hillary out of the water with something like 60% to 30%. And still the word out of cable news channels is that they will announce Hillary's nomination as soon as she gets the delegate count ( they are including super delegates in that count that don't even vote till the convention in July) in NJ which will be hours before CA polls close. What are they so afraid of?

This video is brilliant. So many young people can relate to Chris and are undergoing the same problems. Bernie has plans to turn this worthless system around to where young people can get an education and be self-sufficient, Education, NOT incarceration can change lives on not only young people, but their entire families. Doubtless there are some highly intelligent people with great ideas about literature, music, the arts, technology and all sorts of things if they only had a little bit of hope and encouragement. We simply MUST elect Bernie Sanders, HE is the ONLY candidate who really cares about ALL of us.
