Andre is still HipHop, he’s just not rapping at the moment. Doesn’t change his legacy - his verse on life of the party was one of the best of the year. I’m glad he’s not just throwing lacklustre verse after verse out here to be “relevant”. His latest album might not be for me but the man has earned the right to do whatever he wants.
3k dropped a verse THIS year. Check out Killer Mikes record “Scientists & Engineers”. In that song Andre was on brand, profound & rapped a very fire verse. I think Andre still has a lot to talk about but it has to come to him authentically not just for the simple sake of making a record.

The fact that they both were born in the exact same day is truly mind-blowing! 2 of the best MCs of their times. It should be a holiday or something. Speaking on the topic, I think that Andre only shared his perspective. At the moment, he just don't feel like rapping anymore. He found other ways to express himself. I respect the question and even more so the answer, it's good that we still care and remember about him, but I think that we should stop talking about his personal reasons and reflections on art, just enjoy what he's done for the culture and let him do his sh^t. I believe that the more we talk about why he left, is it "forever-forever-ever-forever-ever?" and is there any chance for maybe another Outkast or his first full LP rap solo album, the less chances we have to experience it. Andre's already proved that he's not to be forced with his creative process and HE DON"T OWE US SH*T. One of the last who stood true to himself. I know it's hard, but maybe we should just let him be?
Hip hop may expand into other areas because of him, musicians may become more popular again like quest love, roots, and others making new music to sample from.
Its isnt the Genre that he claims he's too old for, its the Subject matter & Topics that drive Hip Hop. Rappers be in their 50's still being call "Lil,Young and rapping about lifestyles they aint lived in decades" At some point dignity gains more value than the desire for attention.
Andre is not crazy. He knows what he's saying. He knows what he's feeling. He never said no one his age or older should rap. He's just speaking about himself. Much respect to Jada for speaking his mind but respecting 3000's standpoint. All the other rappers "Calling him out" about his decision, I believe are just STANs using their platform to try and lure Andre out of rap-retirement. And though I would love-more than anyone- for Andre to come out with some more rap shit, or hook back up with Big Boi, if his heart isn't in it... On the real, as a 40 plus emcee myself, it feels good to know that I also share my birthday with two of my favorite hip hop emcees, talking bout 3 stacks and Jada🎉
The industry is the cause of age set on hip hop. They know artist get wiser as they get older. Artist get more understanding and information as they get older. Artist are more liable to speak their mind and speak truth as they get older. Artist are more concerned with more important issues in life as they get older. And with hip hop being the most influential genre of music they have to attach the age limit to keep it the way they want it.
It’s not just 3000 feeling too old, he has even spoke to Eminem about feeling not confident enough to rap again. I think Andre will drop something whether it be features or a small EP once he gains that confidence and motivation again. I feel like he can’t be done until he at least does some features with other older rappers like Eminem, Nas, Jada or whoever. It will happen. Who knows, he could’ve already cooked some shit up but just hasn’t released it.
The generations that followed André 3000 -- Childish Gambino, Kendrick, and especially really young'uns like Saba -- have an introspective style that will still resonate when they're 50+ and churning out records because their reflections on life will be increasingly profound over time. And if André decides to go that route, it will be 🔥. Skills like his don't just vanish. I don’t care how long it's been.
Some people progress, and challenge themselves by trying new things; others stay complacent and keep doing the same thing. It’s all good. We’re all different…Thank GOD🙏🏽
Ayo Andre, we needs that Prostanoscopy 3000 album/EP bruh, i don't care if the first single is called Horseshoes or Meet Me at Crosswords, we need that to grow greys to
40 & 50 should mean you have growth and knowledge to put out there showing what longevity looks like. Show people what it looks like to stay true to the art, because your fans are still out here ready to consume. I’ve been seeing an influx of a lot of youngsters commenting on UA-cam videos of 90’s music the past couple of years as well, talking about how much they like it and wish they were around in them days. They don’t like this new stuff as much either! It all sounds the same and has no message. So I see no reason for the older rappers to stop!
As for Jadakiss.. he also has some dope ass tracks and his skill and stage presence is still there as we saw on Versus. Still tops of spitters in my list.
Can not compare Andre to anyone tho. Maybe he should not say like that. But he just transformed his music as rap music to now different type of arts.. So its up to each individual. Love Andre so much. Jada kiss i listen to. Everyone can do whatever i respect.
Interesting Indeed... and Jadakiss should definitely keep going... I go back to that Versus moment now and again. As for Andre 3000... I swear I saw picture of him in the Studio with Pharoahe Monch and someone else... 🤔☮
This doesn't surprise me about 3000. He's always been an eccentric/artsy kinda dude. That's dope for him to want to experiment with different types of music/ideas. Thinking outside the box is never a bad thing.
How about the reality that popular hip hop has become full of repetitive, toxic fluff that lacks maturity and that man just ain't into chasing that vibe right now? Materialism, studio beefs, chest-thumping, drug glorification and exalting promiscuity never was his bag. I'm more surprised that so many older rappers still get caught up in chasing these trends. I say that as a 48yo Black man who grew up on rap and the hip hop culture. It's more than it has been reduced too.
I feel like Andre approaches rap similar to punk music all about energy and feeling where a lot of his contemporaries see it closer to jazz something you can age into and improve with time .
Andre has opened up about mental health issues recently, namely depression.i would recommend his appearance on Rick Rubin’s podcast where they get into it pretty deep.
Andre been said he’s done. Kinda late on the talk about him being over it. Years ago Andre said he too old for rap. I agree. Drake too damn old to making music for teenagers but he still doing it. Mental mentality is on a different level. Called being mature and moving on to the next big thing within his life.
Bunch of bitter and jealous grownups in the comment section hating on another black man because of his opinion and choices that cause no harm and doesn’t affect ya’ll in a negative way. Just be happy he’s alive and well, being himself and living the way he wants.
Each generation of artists/fans is going to feel "at what point am I culturally relevant"? Like most that grow up in the 80s-2000s, we seen how hip hop got commercialized and how it is now where is streaming and views vs album sales. Do we still feel the same attachment to todays music vs the ones we know and grew up with. The thing about the artists from the older generation, I feel their music is deep and has meaning. It's not a quick money grab, social media clout, insta fame BS. A lot of music is so superficial now that it's just another song that gets played and forgotten. A lot of Andre 3000 songs are timeless.
Three stacks is three thousand light years a head fam. He is a painter, a producer, and plays multiple instruments. It ain't just about rap . Do ya thing Three stacks.
Dre 3k done went diamond on rapping he feels like he done all that can be done on that side, Jada one of my favorites but he ain't seen those type of sales. He trying to get to Dre status, plus they have 2 very different type styles
There's a lot rappers who are older than me. I listened to MF DOOM, Rick Ross, Kanye, Jadakiss and many more. I don't think age is the problem, but I can understand the reason he said what he said. He feels artists similar to Sexxy Redd or Youngboy are what's getting the traction these days. And it's very difficult to creative, especially today. J Cole has even felt this way.

Speakerboxx/The Love Below is the #1 selling Hip Hop album ALL TIME. And make no mistake, if they were sold separately The Love Below would be the #1 selling album Hip Hop all time based strictly off HEY YA.
Andre, Andre 2k, Andre 3k, whatever era you listen to him in, he’s Top 5 MC💯
Yo Mero fat Joe impression is on point 😅😂
the mannerisms lmao
"I got goosePumps"
Andre said he had nothing more to say
Silence is a golden thing .
An art that most men forget .
"When I was a child I did childish things"...
He has evolved.
That's great thing.
Some of these rappers should step aside for the next generation.
Natural order of life.
FACTS, the more wiser you become the LESS you have to say!! This is biblical understanding. Grace & Peace
And Mike killed him on that song. Dre was weak.
@@MrWatevaman listen again... Mike verse was better.
@@MrWatevaman smh... All I can say is listen to it again.
@@Mac_DNHMike didn't kill him he just mentioned a bunch of things people care about. people get tricked by that in rap all the time just cuz u mention a bunch of cool things don't mean u killed. andre flow was better. subject matter, concept of the lyrics, storytelling.
@@Mac_DNH:
Mike was good on the album, but nooooo way he outshone 3K; Andre's musical resume by itself shelves anything Mike's done...
Did Mike win THAT Grammy on his own?? NOPE... He won it for featuring on a OuKast song 📬💯
Jada is still #1 in my book. Crazy flow
🤡🤡🤡
Same, Kiss, Styles, Siegel, Nas and Sean Price. Thats my top 5
Summed up nice 👌🏻
Glad Jadakiss and Little Brother got the right mindset and haven't got caught up in age ism
Hip hop going through a mid life crisis
Lol
I'm still here I'm old school keep bringing us that flava we need it
You are never too old to do it when the talent is authentic. But you can grow past the desire to do so.
Hip hop may expand into other areas because of him, musicians may become more popular again like quest love, roots, and others making new music to sample from.
Its isnt the Genre that he claims he's too old for, its the Subject matter & Topics that drive Hip Hop. Rappers be in their 50's still being call "Lil,Young and rapping about lifestyles they aint lived in decades"
At some point dignity gains more value than the desire for attention.
Facts
Jada @ Maddison Square Garden has to be one of the most legendary moments in Hip Hop
Hahaha. I grew up listening to rap as a teenager… now being older I feel that “blood pressure rising”. I’d buy that album.
😂
Andre is not crazy. He knows what he's saying. He knows what he's feeling. He never said no one his age or older should rap. He's just speaking about himself. Much respect to Jada for speaking his mind but respecting 3000's standpoint. All the other rappers "Calling him out" about his decision, I believe are just STANs using their platform to try and lure Andre out of rap-retirement.
And though I would love-more than anyone- for Andre to come out with some more rap shit, or hook back up with Big Boi, if his heart isn't in it... I can't sit here and talk about that man and what he SHOULD be doing based off my feelings and desires.
The colonoscopy - got “some shit” to get off - analogy had me dying 😂😂 4:20
aahhhh that's fly too of my favs got the same bday and 2 days after mine!! ♊♊ 3 Stacks is 🔥 no matter what medium he chooses to make his art!! i just hope keeps sharing it with us. i fux with the flute album🙌🏾❤🖤💚
most Rappers are not musicians, but Andre 3000 is a musician and did make musics, and his rappers sounded like singing.
Andre 3000 was the weird guy when he was making his music back then and people hated on him. So why you expect him to not keep doing him? People grow and start to love to do new things. Let them live
because nas was hated on and called a introvert and guess what he is doing. its just an excuse
@@lanceprimusprimus hes a talented man, but we want them bars, dude used to be in the running for top 5, but without a body of work to prove it.....eh....... glad he's alive, but i wanted to hear more bars from Andre.
Damn straight ✌️

Peace to The Gemini
3K can do whatever the f he wants, the dude is well beyond just hip-hop. An artist of the highest calibre
(The WAY you PUT it💯💯!!…..)TALK TO ‘EM!!
folks are mad cause 3000 evolved. they got they own lives and experiences. If you not into meditation music, it's not gonna be for you. getting salty about what another man wants to do with his life is crazy.
This podcast is fire. Im glad he had Tyrese on 💪🏽 J. Cole has a good podcast here man, im glad. Tyrese voice sounds kinda like Jadakiss.
Respect to all yall , 2024 smash all the boundrys , much love from New Zealand
MERO WAS ALWAYS THE FUNNY ONE! happy to see this
On the real, as a 40 plus emcee myself, it feels good to know that I also share my birthday with two of my favorite hip hop emcees, talking bout 3 stacks and Jada🎉
It’s 100% a difference between blues & southern blues & jazz & southern jazz
The industry is the cause of age set on hip hop. They know artist get wiser as they get older. Artist get more understanding and information as they get older. Artist are more liable to speak their mind and speak truth as they get older. Artist are more concerned with more important issues in life as they get older. And with hip hop being the most influential genre of music they have to attach the age limit to keep it the way they want it.
andré found the sense of life.
Music no matter what type you make, you can never be to old because
it's an art form of expression.
That leather melo got on is 🔥🔥 I think imma grab
It’s not just 3000 feeling too old, he has even spoke to Eminem about feeling not confident enough to rap again. I think Andre will drop something whether it be features or a small EP once he gains that confidence and motivation again. I feel like he can’t be done until he at least does some features with other older rappers like Eminem, Nas, Jada or whoever. It will happen. Who knows, he could’ve already cooked some shit up but just hasn’t released it.
In as much as i understand where Andre is, i beg to differ as i believe that as long as you're living you got something to learn and teach.
Jada is so dope.
I remember jada use to say he was retiring at 30. But them albums ain’t really sale like that
True
i opened this video just to comment this. YOU ARE NEVER TOO OLD TO RAP GRISELDA ARE ALL OLDER AND KILLIN THE GAME
Nobody is too old to rap but the material has to be more mature.
Ayo Andre, we needs that Prostanoscopy 3000 album/EP bruh, i don't care if the first single is called Horseshoes or Meet Me at Crosswords, we need that to grow greys to
Jadakis voice made him unique some times you don’t need to rap different but your voice does the difference for you
Fuego🔥. Thank you, Algorithm.
🔥 We lost a lot of good ones..dope mcs! in the game. Happy sun is still with us. Top 5!!!
Taurus gang over here!!!

The dates for Gemini, the third sign of the zodiac, are approximately May 21 to June 21
They are Gemini's..
Just know when 3 stacks come back that shi’ gone “EPIC”
When did Mero get this podcast?
No rapper is going to go into an interview and disrespect 3000. Even if deep down inside they think his lost his marbles😐
You’re never too old if you got bars!
That versuz was so freaking dope. It gave me chills. I sat my wife down and was like yo watch this, she was like wtf lol. I loved it tho 😂
Andre has opened up about mental health issues recently, namely depression.i would recommend his appearance on Rick Rubin’s podcast where they get into it pretty deep.
The perfect genre for All sports!! Every single one!!
Dre 3000 would be a breath of fresh air to his fan base who is also getting older as well.
Im 37 I have a unbelievable talent but I say Im too old bc my wisdom has advanced beyond my age...
Everything gets old...
3k might say he too old to rap what about, but it’s not age but motivation and meaningful for himself.
Andre 3000 has been a weirdo for years. I just watch Scarface "tiny desk" one of the best of concert live for a long time.
And weirdos put out some damn good music...they called Prince a weirdo too
I’m glad rappers are speaking up about what he said that really annoyed me when 3000 said that BS !
Jadakiss hasn't heard of metal before than. It has a worldwide impact with many regional subgenres.
We need a LOX Album please s p the ghost
The first I ever recorded was on a reel to reel at the radio station at LIU. Shout out to Mike and Kalolo.Hip hop game a long way!!
Any 50 year older rapper still having something to say hasn't made it.... Andre 3000 is right.
Three stacks is three thousand light years a head fam. He is a painter, a producer, and plays multiple instruments. It ain't just about rap . Do ya thing Three stacks.
E-40, 52 years old, Kool Keith, 60 years old, both still dope as f*ck!
Dre 3k done went diamond on rapping he feels like he done all that can be done on that side, Jada one of my favorites but he ain't seen those type of sales. He trying to get to Dre status, plus they have 2 very different type styles
How many freaking podcasts are out there?! 😂
So ain’t Nobody gonna say it’s they speaking on Andre3000 and they are all Geminis 528 here!!! We the greatest
Jada the most solid ever 💯
