Personally, I feel, no matter how large the church, no one on a worship team should be paid. It is an honor to bring praise to our Father, giving back the gifts He has given us.
As a professional musician I played countless times for free, as my father who is playing in churches the majority of his life, for free. And I dont think thats okay... especially if the church isnt struggling financially.
@@izakf5301 I can understand that. My experience has been the church size of around 150 or less that can not afford to pay everyone in the band. Thanks for the comment!
@@ChurchTalk24 Sure, if the band is big depending on the size, that's understandable. But I think at least worship leaders and the ones that are musicians not as a hobby but professionally, could get something. At least something small and not just- you are doing it for God. It is true, but the church is a body of Christ and we people have to help each other. It's not like there will be only miracles around us all the time. Something it's just so simple - helping the one in need.
Obviously, the way we live today doesnt correlate to living in the church, but the Musicians put in alot of time for the music they play. I disagree with hiring in musicians who arent members of the church as a Hired Gun.... with a guitar. Ive seen it.... it actually effects the worship. Musicians who put in the time and efforts that ARE members of the local church should receive some compensation for their time.... unfortunately, some church leaders with play the Ministry card...... does the pastor get paid?? of course..... same principle.
@@yesitsme8606 totally agree about hiring musicians. I think the pastor should be the first on payroll, then prioritize after that. Such as worship pastor, youth pastor, associate pastor and so on in whatever order the church needs.
