Vini needed a rest. He was very fatigued in the previous matches following the international break. You can see how he is different when he is with good form.
Also, that's what we needed form Mbappe too: playing the other teammates. He was very anxious in the first matches and wasnt placing passes for others to score. Today he was different. He was passing to players in better position and even got an assist.

@@BhanuJoshi-yd3qoNo, they played incredibly poorly against las palmas and Mallorca who were easily tearing through us at times and we had no control in those games. So this espanyol analysis is very much relative to the other matches. So massive improvements.

When will people learn, when there is an international tournament in a year it becomes prevalent in the balon dor rankings. Rodri has not only won the EURO-s but became the best player of the EURO-s. Vini was great last year, but so was Bellingham. You couldn't definitively say that either of the were the more important player last season. With Rodri it was clear. The first name on Spain's team sheet and the first name on Man city's teamsheet. Man has not lost a f-cking game. So if Rodri wins it, its gonna be fair and square. He SHOULD win it. But he is a CDM so journalists will be less willing to vote for him probably. Their G/A btw isn't that different, its 26 for Rodri and 38 for Vini I think. Which is proper embarassing from Vini btw. (Rodri ain't even taking pens as well).
I know it’s normal to miss chances but the rate at which Mbappe is missing them is a bit concerning. I think the idea of him and the reality are different things. I understand he needs time to settle in and I am not trying to hate but I think this fanbase has romanticized him a bit to much.
I think not only the fans thought he'd make a immediate impact but he himself thought so. But now he has to settle in, but by Jan I'm sure he'll be he's best.

I disagree with your overview of the game this time. Espanyol didn't have any clear chances whatsoever. You called our passing meaningless without direction but the point is to maintain control. This game was actually great. Even in the first half. We just lacked an end product.
Also surprised you didn't comment on Endricks performance, and how he should probably start over Mbappe one of these days.
i agree with this the first half many chances were created but not finished that’s what was lacking overall the boys played above average today
We are 2nd on the table at the moment and Espanyol are 13th at the moment. This was our best start so far but any bigger team still would've been able to punish us. We are just lucky the teams we've played so far haven't been able too but we can't keep relying on luck and honestly from what I saw there were several instances of silly passes that didn't need to made and that could've cost us but didn't because Valverde would have to win them back. Happy about the W but damn we gotta change things up and sort things out before we get to teams that have a bigger than 5% chance of beating us (That's how it stood before the game). It shouldn't have been this difficult let's be honest 😢

They’re selective with when they choose to look at VAR, there’s no goal line technology, and they just make some inconsistent calls especially with handballs.
this is something that hurts our league as a whole and we all consistently see the memes of Barca and Real Madrid accused of paying off refs because of these stupid calls.

@@Sheikh_diane Any time there is a foul like this when a player is fouling for extended time and distance the free kick is put at the beginning of the foul... and also the defender let go of Endrick just outside of the penalty box as well, he only fell inside at the end.
