Watching that hook+wall combo made me feel so nostalgic. The game has so many escapes now and no one coordinates and talks unless they are losing and just scream "skill issue" nonstop.
I remember back on Overwatch 1 where for the longest time, I’d go out of my way to have at least 1 hero with a 100% win rate in Comp each season. Up until Season 19 I was able to accomplish this, but this was when I was just doing placements and nothing else. In any case, it was a fun little challenge... And I can’t even go back to look at my previous stats for those seasons to fondly reminisce on better times, because Blizzard keeps erasing past history. 🙂
Watching it back at 1/4 speed a Winton at 400 hp can be effectively killed by less than 5 members of the enemy team in just around one literal second. Non-hyperbolic, one second of time is the ttk for a tank in this game, where a tanks job is generally to make space and mitigate damage
Here at Blizzard Entertainment, we take balancing tanks super seriously. According to our latest data, Roadhog's win rate was actually much higher than other tanks. With this new information, we think that the rework is no longer needed and has been scrapped in favor of some minor adjustment to Roadhog's healing and health to pull Roadhogs numbers more in line with the other tanks in the roster and increase the synergy against enemy supports. Also, the synergy with an ally Mei is oppressive and there should be consequences when pulling in and blocking a completely helpless enemy Bastion. With these changes, Roadhog will be less oppressive to play against and will allow enemy supports to be able to survive in a 1v5. Take A Breather - Time to reset increased by 5 seconds and now starts when Roadhog takes 400. Timer resets on death and does not start until Roadhog takes 400 damage. When used, it will reset the enemy team's Ana grenade and add an additional cooldown for the entire match (stack up to 10). Hook - Shorted to 15m and will disable teammate Mei wall. Hook on Bastion will cause automatic turret form from OW1 release (now has shield), 50% reduction in damage taken, as well as an increase in fire rate of 75%. (Team notes - Basion is a tank buster. How can he bust any tanks if he is dead?) Overall Health - Reduced to 450 to align with other tank health pools

And honestly, this video doesn't contradict this theory, since his values haven't changed at all. Instead what it shows is that the tank value as a whole has dropped so low that now Hogs lack of value over any tank is simply just par for the course. Which realistically is probably a really bad sign for whatever changes are coming to his kit.
All hog needs is a reliable right click to be good AND fun. If they just made it do like 40 damage before it bursts or gave an indicator for burst range
@ 4:27 is exactly why i believe tanks should at least be resistant to headshots. Like, i get that its mainly a skill thing in high MMR, but if a tank can get deleted in 2 seconds then they ain't really a tank, are they?
The fact that landing a hook on any target leading to their immediate death really speaks to the degree of insane damage that's been created. Hog doesn't die if the enemy team doesn't have an Ana is *somewhat* true. But the fact that it takes either a little coordination to set up an elim with Hog, or the simple fact that a displaced enemy will be guaranteed to die, says so much about the state of the game in higher ranks.

Hog alpine isn’t that amazing but when you put a support on his shoulder and let him just pop off that’s when I gets broken his damage and hook nerf fixed his original issues I don’t think I rework would do much
