- Several video clips, skits, and discussions of Bill Maher breaking down why America is a stupid country. Bill Maher is 100% correct, btw. Statistically, those that live in urban America are smarter than those that live in rural America, and those that live in the suburbs are smarter than those that live in the urban areas. So it is about where you live that at least correlates with how smart you are.

As a 57 year old Canadian I have never heard anybody pronounce it the way Americans say we do...a boot. Everybody that I have ever heard it rhymes with the word shout

What mystifies me is in all of these debates about why the public schools are so pathetic virtually no one mentions the concept of IQ scores, and whether or not it even makes sense for persons of below average intelligence, or really the bottom two/thirds of the population, to even be attending secondary school for academics as opposed to serving trades apprenticeships. Apparently they really do think that people with low IQs are capable of learning subjects such as chemistry, English literature, or geometry, when in point of fact, there is little doubt that they are not capable of coping with any sort of intellectual abstraction. To me though it’s not so much that these people are stupid. It’s more like they are intellectually dormant, will never wake up, and should then perhaps not be disturbed.

As a matter of fact, I find smug Bill Maher to be woefully uninformed and intellectually lazy these days! (And, i used to admire him before the year 2000, the last time he probably opened a book.) Basta!
