Non-traditional? People have played bass guitar with a pick for just about half a century. There have also always been people playing 6-string guitar with their fingers only, instead of using a pick.
No I don't believe picks are non traditional. Lots of bassists play with a pick and lots of bassists play fingerstyle. What matters is how it sounds and completes the music.
(Later in the album) Tom: “hey mark” Mark: “I’m sick of this hey mark, hey mark, look how it’s get bigger if it rub it” I saw them live just after Enema of the State was released.
God, this brings back so many memories. I miracled upon this CD at Meijer, I was 9 at the time and my parents were chill enough to get this album for me and pay them back later. My friend and I used to let this blare on my stereo all the time, singing along to every song. Crazy when you hear a song for the first time in over a decade and are still able to sing along perfectly
2020 i havent been so scared.. In a long time.. And im so unprepared so i wont have any toilet paper... Bouquet of clumsy months, no simple days exists..This worlds an ugly place.. But this music is so beautiful to me..
The whole reason I started playing bass was because of Mark's tone... I know it's a pick and non-traditional... but, it sounds so good.
I hear ya. 100% the same reason I picked it up. Well Fat Mike too was a major inspiration.
Non-traditional?

Ditto 100%

If bass playing's just a tone, then.. I must have missed the pick-off
(Later in the album)
Tom: “hey mark”

The Golf Life no, seriously. Mark. Hey.
Lucky you. I saw them live after their Untitled and Neighborhoods albums still amazing but they didn't really talk to the crowd much
The most emotional song ever followed my incredibly ridiculous/juvenile jokes. Only Blink XD
