  • Advanced Jaw Harp Technique tutorial. This question comes to us from Subscriber Carl Flude who asks how to make high pitched techno sounds on his Glazyrin Star. Here we learn how to layer percussive noises over a central rhythm. My Jaw Harp teacher is accepting new students. Many thanks and great respect.

      Glad that you enjoyed it. To be honest videos that I make off of viewer questions perform the best, because if you have had the question on your mind, it is very probable that many other people have as well, resulting in higher views over time, which gives people more opportunities to find my channel. It helps me and it helps you. So it is I who thanks you for this. Your input has helped my channel. Thank you Carl Flude.

      If I dare pick your brains any further to educate myself, can you give me any ideas to overcome aching teeth. I haven't been playing for a month yet but my two front top teeth ache and feel sensitive to cold drinks now. I s this normal for beginners. I am keeping good contact to my teeth with the Jews Harp. Your time with this question as always is appreciated with great respect.

      I think that everyone’s sensitivity will be different. I also think that if you have just started playing the harp and play everyday, you will experience some discomfort much like a beginner guitar players fingers. I also think that you should listen to your body. Take a day off if needs be.

      When I play, I play to convey an emotion, or story. If you feel it, then your listeners will as well.

    You totally rock! You share so much of your love and passion for the harp with everyone. You are so inspiring! I'm having fun with this! Is there such a thing as "breaking in" a harp? And does the reed "soften" after a while? Thank you for all that you share!

    • @bebbcorpharpery7331
      @bebbcorpharpery7331  5 років тому

      A reed will somewhat learn how you flex it adapt to the person. Some makers say the instrument tuned it to the person. I say the harp reed learns flexing and straightens while vibrated.

    How come some players place the harp right across the mouth/teeth, and others only place it only to the end of the front 2 teeth/mouth?
    And, do you use breathing techniques or not?

    • @bebbcorpharpery7331
      @bebbcorpharpery7331  6 років тому +2

      I use many techniques and breath is one of them. For more detailed info, go to my channel, click playlists, and click advanced jews harp technique. There are a lot of technique tutorials there. As for corner of mouth vs middle two teeth. The middle of mouth is useful for open close melodic play as it isn’t as loud and lets open close melodics easier to hear as the melodics are not easily drowned out by a loud or saturated harp. Putting the harp in the corner of mouth and closing lips around makes for much louder sound, and allows for breathing and other techniques.

    Damm that is a beautiful glazirn star. is there ever 20% 30% of harps in the harpery? That would de amazing. Harp on

    • @bebbcorpharpery7331
      @bebbcorpharpery7331  5 років тому

      harpingnature occasionally On large Glazyrin orders Some of the reeds will come tarnished, from the manufacturer. I could sell one as is instead of re polishing the reed at a discount. Message me at The Harpery on FB and if a Star ever comes with a cosmetic flaw I can contact you. Also see the ascetic for a similar harp at a much lower price.
