A word of advice to non armor classes/casters that may be somewhat new like me: I just completed this as a summoner today, and you may want to try this one on easy mode. I wiped non stop in this battle on normal. He has a lot of crazy AoE damage that is hard to avoid even with a sprint, a ton of health, as well a few special commands you need to follow on top of your rotation. It’s extremely chaotic and even with 2000 hp he will kill you easily. I do 90% of my fights on normal because I feel horrible if I don’t, but this would definitely be one of those minority categories. Hardest fight I’ve done so far easily. I hope there’s a way we can play this event again in the future, I’d love to continue to give it go on normal someday!
The entire fight was rather easy with any jobs. Be aware, you're meant to use the Dodge (Duty Action I) to avoid the AoEs. The Dodge ability can also be used on any of the other non-countdown AoE mechanics during this fight. It does suck that you can't replay the questline or fight, though. :(
@@iBakaBread Yes its absolutely built with the dodge in mind. Pro tip, you can assign duty actions to hotbars by opening the abilities tab, then going under General.
Only having 2000 hp sounds like you're a bit undergeared! Did you enter immediately after Ultima Weapon? My scholar with an item level of 95 has 4000+ hp, and I think the max for this event was 110. You'll definitely crush the event next time around with Tomestone gear that you can get now or stuff from later expansions!
ok i was hella confused, and it turns out my quest is bugged. at 41:40, speakj with clive is supposed to auto complete so you can find the minstrel at the wall. my objective is still speak with clive and hes nowhere to be found lol relogging fixed it but man i was going nuts lol
This is likely a case of "If you have to ask you can't do it" but what level do you need to do this? Only a weekend player and haven't gotten too far in the MSQ yet myself, so curious. Also, thanks for recording and uploading this

this event was a huge let down for rewards after you unlock the mgp stuff. only giving music scrolls after hyping this event up like it was gonna be some big grand event only to not give outfits from the other characters to buy with mgp only music scrolls? come on yoshi p its not hard to actually make a good event and live up to the hype that your company makes it out to be

You need to finish Ultima Weapon and be at level 50 to do it

that defend mechanic does not work. i go to that darn spot, and failed. this is beyond fing annoying. ready check does not show up
