I think the mark of a good Trombone Champ chart is one that makes good use of slides and isn't exclusively taps, which this one definitely delivers. Even at 0:59 which is very staccato it still uses slides for adjacent notes and doesn't expect you to hit literally every single one which is great. Plus I'm glad you actually got the backing track without the main melody so that it's just the trombone, not enough custom charts do that. Awesome work all around, I love this video unironically and just listen to it sometimes.

Assuming that the sound they got is a direct rip from the game, they didn’t do that. that’s just how the sound file for this song is.

One of the things that I'm not seeing many people talk about is how you mute it out the main melody and made it so the trombone is playing the melody
Well, that's the perk of sound chip music. The music is separated into channels that can be silenced if one wishes to. In this case, the channel with the lead melody was silenced and then the song was ported and charted. Check carpathia808 if you want to see what I mean.
