Hello, First off, thank you. You helped me with my sigma 170-500mm and hopefully you can with my canon 17-55mm. I have fixed many lenses but most vintage or very simple electronic ones. I’m a little worried about the soldering part. While I can do simple soldering(simple wired electrics only), I have never done so on a flex cable… would you say the removal and replacement of this flex cable in terms of the soldering is tricky or very easy. Thank you very much for your help.
It is quite easy, but you have to be very careful when you remove the soldering iron and the old flat cable from the aperture unit. It is quite easy to damage the pins.
