Most of the time I don't like longsword videos, because I think the "H" of HEMA is lacking. But here it was gorgeous fencing, I'm impressed ! I wish this kind of exchange had more exposure online.
@@Sprechfenster Thank YOU ! As I commented on another video : I'm sick of hearing the same argument : " Ah yes, fancy historical techniques are nice, but in a ReAl FiGhT it goes out the window." Well now I can respond : "And what about THIS ?"
@@MrodriguezProd I think most HEMA practitioners are not at an advanced level, and so are not capable of performing advanced techniques in competitive environment. Here we see advanced practitioners that are skilled in the techniques and advanced in their sparring, hence the more "pretty/fancy/advanced" tools being used. I do think that the advanced techniques would historically have been reserved for use against "worthy" high level opponents. First a great fighter doesn't need them against the vast herd of mediocre fighters, and second when it is life and death, giving away your best techniques when they aren't needed could come back to your detriment in future fights.
Now, that's the kind of longsword fencing I love ! Why did I not see this video sooner !
No idea! I saw it even before it went online...
@@Sprechfenster 😂
Subscribed, it looks like you have a lot of interesting content and interpretations
Great sparring and beautiful gym, with large windows and a view.
Great to watch!
Lovely!
Grazie mille! :)
IS... THAT... PROGAUNTLET??? :0
nice!
D'akujem!
Nice exchange at 1:50 ...and fancy duck at the end!
Great binds
How tall are you, and how tall is Arto?
181 cm for me and no idea for Arto, but ceratinly no less than an average Elvish prince.

@@MrodriguezProd Glad it is useful! Always satisfying to serve as ammo in internet battles ;)
@@Sprechfenster Yes, and definitely not some puny .22 cal, haha

I have unliked it just so that I can like it again.
