Hi Terry, it was me playing in that Molotov, it was great playing with you! I fired my first salvo toward you as a sign of greeting, I hope you recognized it.
The Swedish destroyers seem pretty fun to play. You just have to play them to their advantages. I think they are the most similar to the British DD play style.
Hi Terry, I just played a match against your press account! I was the benham, and you were the gascogne but fortunately I didnt face you in the middle cap. Ngl this destroyer line seems like the flooding version of HE spammers.
Gotta be honest I’m not to scared of EU dds that are below tier 6 but starting from tier 7 I’m a lot more careful. These EU dds can cause some serious damage with their floods and good in AA in higher tiers. Beware of the EU dds they are some good little buggers.
T7 is tricky. T6, most of the time you'll find what I'd call "easy prey", and can just rack up the damage. In the extremely squishy T7, especially if I get into T8 games, I find it much harder to play aggressively and out in the open. A perma-flood on a BB will get you maybe 10k dmg. That's as much as I can do with three torp hits on an Aka. I agree that these DDs are pretty dangerous for BBs, but their utility in holding positions or DD counterplay are rather limited - hence the more "stealth" playstyle I ended up with.
@@FunandGameswithTerry I have also played the sneaky play style as the main play style. These ships armor are made of string. Guns arnt’ super punchy, and maneuverability is average. All of these added up make for a stealthy dd. However some utility might be found with their AA in tiers 8 and up. Their main disadvantage is the fact that they cannot one shot dds with torps. This can be a issue in higher tiers as dds get even more sturdier and players get more aware. Not a terrible line so far if played right. I can imagine some amazing players who are dd mains getting 100k games in high tier games. But for some other players who don’t know how to play the line they may struggle. EU dds will probably end up being the hardest dd line play, and most likely the most frustrating to master. However besides all the downsides it’s still worth trying out if your willing to sacrifice not being able to dd brawl.
Yes, completely agree. It's about expectations, players will be rather disappointed when trying to go for a classic DD style. Low dpm, low speed, average manoeuvrability, no smokes, but CV levels of damage-over-time are possible, and excellent AA. Interesting for sure.
@@FunandGameswithTerry The only dd line that the EU dd line can be somewhat compared (in terms of torpedos) is the pan Asian dd line. They both have high flood chances and can’t really brawl dds. Both lines have very decent guns in the mid tiers (excluding fushun) but in the high tiers their both different. It will be interesting to see how people play these ships.
Yeah, true, plus they get radar, and at the same time don't have DD brawling capabilities. I've quite successfully worked with light cruisers - found myself a Cleveland, and together we radared the crap out of unfortunate USN DDs.
I liked the Blyskawica, it's a challenge to play but AA is trash on it vs this new line of DDs. I look forward to trying them out. I need new toys to play with since the lines are getting boring
When I was in my Nürnberg, I absolutely shredded the tier 6 EU DD,they really have no health indeed, the tier 3 is really fun for its tier managed to get a +50k battle and a cracken. Also for the AA, it’s nice to have some at higher tiers and not to get considered as free food for Shokakus :D
The lack of smoke and low health pool mean that you have to be careful with torp drops, but yeah, I'm actually keen to see if I can run AA / deterrence for friendly DDs
They are in early acces, you can get Romulus for free in the blitz pass ( lvl 30 or 40 ). The CCs got them earlier to try them out. Normally next month we should get the complete line to grind :)
I have seen gameplays on youtube where the EU DDs were played as gunboats running around in the open both gunning and torping the enemy This is probably done so that you get both floods and fires on the enemy and you deal more damage
What has deterred me from that playstyle in the Skane is the lack of speed (there are faster cruisers in the game) and the fact that she can be blown out of the water with a good salvo of almost anything. That said, the floods alone aren't going to cut it damage-wise, so this might be a classic case of "tier 7 issues". Öland I think is slightly sturdier in tier 8, but I have yet to try her.
Sorry Terry, but, ¿why would you build a Destroyer as an AA turret? I use it similarly to an american destroyer, agresive-torpedo-spammer with Reload, Acceleration and Steering modules. Being a Destroyer, try to use AP against other DDs, always. This ship can have a reload of about 2 seconds, it also has fast turret speed and good accuracy. It's not very friendly for people "new" on destroyers :-(
Roma is a very powerful T8 battleship. If you enjoy battleships, and are comfortable playing at T8, she's worth it (although personally, I still prefer the Richelieu).
They are most of the time just black painted + a price tag slapped behind them. They do get some advantages aren’t that different from the tech tree ships, not so worthy to rewiew each one.
Other than bringing subs into the game with bigger maps that’s all there is to offer with anything new. None of these new EU destroyers offer anything not covered by other DDs.
I generally don't bother, since they're very close to their tech tree counterparts. They do tend to have the occasional skill twist, like the Black Bayern with the reload boost, so if I see something interesting, I'll consider it. Generally, ships come out at a faster rate than I can manage to review them :)

Well played, I think you came out on top of your team. That game is going into the upcoming Gascogne review.
@@FunandGameswithTerry thanks. I got pretty lucky. I'm actually quite bad at this game🤣
Terry is it possible to make a vid on how to win when the rest of your team is doing dumb stuff such as rushing the enemy and not capping.
