From what Soyeon has said, the agency was not for the concept, and felt that it was too controversial, but she insisted (made a PowerPoint and everything.) I believe Nxde broke the record for a Perfect All Kill for girl groups, so it’s definitely well received by the public! (Not sure if Korean men’s rights activists / chauvinists are secretly slagging it off in their forums though.)
I feel like I can summarize how the song was received (at least on the charts) in Korea based on social media: - Nxde Won 5 Music Program Awards, competing against songs like "Anti Fragile" by Le Sserafim (great song!) up until October 29th. All of last week (Up until November 5th), South Korea held National Mourning for the Itaewon Tragedy, and no promotion or music shows were held. After the 5th, they have won 1 Music Program Award, bringing the total up to 6 wins. They are still able to win more Music Award Shows in the coming weeks. - Nxde Became the fastest 4th gen song (boys and girl) to receive 100 million views on UA-cam, doing so in 17 days and 15 hours, surpassing Aespa's "Savage" (also a great song!) - Nxde has achieved around 129 PAKs (Perfect-All-Kill) so far in Korea, becoming the second song this year with the most PAKs (first place is Tomboy (164) by Idle themselves). - With these additional 164 PAKs, G-Idle becomes the girlgroup with the most PAKs of all time with 296. I believe they are 4th overall after Zico, BTS, and IU. - They also became the first girlgroup since TWICE to achieve to PAKs in one calendar year. - Anything else? I would say it was extremely well received both in Korea and Internationally. At least based on these numbers.
Their album sales also increased a shit ton. They’ve always been a bit behind in album sales compared to their 4th gen peers, but their “Tomboy” success, the longer preorder time, and (imo) the packaging of “I Love” were huge reasons for this album’s larger sales! I’m just super proud of the members and the nevies and casual fans who continue to support (G)I-DLE. They absolutely deserve it and so much more💜❤️
I'm Korean living in Korea. Of course there will always be haters who hate, but generally speaking the song is very well received here. Korean fans love analyzing the hidden messages and references, and to be honest I believe young fans nowadays are mature and liberal enough to take these sort of concepts even in Korea🙃
OMG FINALLY !! ♥️ Soyeon is so good and brilliant for creating this masterpiece. If someone searches on social media the group’s Korean name or the word “children” (아이들), along with “nude” or “nxde,” (G)I-DLE and their content will now automatically come up instead of illegal, illicit photos.
For obvious reasons, the company said NO to this concept. The title, teaser, some choreo, etc. But when they said no to it, Soyeon knew "this is the one". Soyeon actually have so many targets with this concept such as oversexualization, breaking that dirty mind concept, they also target the industry stating that they will create what concept they want instead of what their company tells them to. They also created this to lessen the dirty web searches, since when you type "Aideul" (meaning "Children") + NUDE, it will show this song instead of the explicit results. For the choreo, the company then again said NO to the skirt dance on "dda-tara-tara" part, so the girls went around the building dancing it. It was supposed to be different and kinda generic/plain so I'm glad the girls fought. Minnie said as well that the chorus choreo have this "opening then covering up" movements, such as unzipping the dress, ripping the dress open then covering it up, and the crossed arm way to remove a tshirt. This shows that every aspect has a concept. And yes, since this comeback is about them being them, the U was crossed out because like you'e said, it's not about "you". Also a clever way to censor that word against policies across different platforms. Ohhh and that animated girl, it looks familiar.........
@@user-zj5jp8zc1j Coz Soyeon really wanted that skirt dance but their choreographer gave then a different one. So they went around to promote it and see the reaction towards it. The context behind it is "I want to dance like swaying my skirt" which fits the message of the song
Nxde is so well-received both in korea & international because of the message, the MV, the concept and the song. Gidle breaking new records with this comeback. I like watching reaction from a smart youtuber like you because not all male youtubers can digest this concept at one-go.
Nxde topped all music charts in South Korea for 100+ hours 🔥 #PerfectAllKill Also, please don't hold yourself back from fanboying over (G)I-dle, especially, Minnie 😆
I've had this album on repeat since it dropped and Nude in particular has been non-stop in my head. It's so well done. The burlesque scenes (to me) were totally inspired by the iconic girl crush collab, 'Lady Marmalade' from Moulin Rouge. Hoping you're able to find the time to react to the recent NCT Lab featuring Ten in 'Birthday'. Seriously, some LEGEN (wait for it...) DARY choreo.
Lol it's ok just breath. With Soyeon's rap everyone need to pause for each sentence. She literally speak her mind out about women being seen as an object of pleasure.

That’s hella dope! The level of compassion soyeon had for this message tells a lot about her as an artist

Small correction. If i am not totally wrong Nxde has 129 PAK hours, not 164. Tomboy had 167, this adds up to 296 for them.
@@learnway8016 you are absolutely right! I corrected it.
