His photo and name are on the water tower very large and makes you want to hear him just to see him and hear him. He was a real man. This song was special for all of us.

Freddy just happened to have the most successful version of it, and recorded it only because his producer wanted him to. Freddy didn't have any desire to record Country Music... until his version was successful. And, as was the standard in the industry in those days, several artists then recorded it for album cuts.
Freddy Fender was born Baldemar Garza Huerta in San Benito, Texas, he took the name Freddy because it sounded more american and Fender for his guitar and amplifier. Love his music and will always be remembered.

I went on the road a few months with an ex years ago he would not let them talk him into letting me drive it was tough out there what i had to do to get a shower../then you could and later a friend try to get me to take and teach me OTR for back up career always wished I had listened to my old smart friend.
