The VMA performance is incredible, definitely worth checking out. Stray Kids usually remix the songs to some degree for any awards show performances and they did it for the VMAs; it was perfect.

They could’ve actually just done the standard performance, but they chose a brand new version of the song. They also won the award and the only reason they exploded is because they performed. I’m mad that they put them on that stage in the first place simply to gain viewers because MTV sucks ass but I’m also happy they got an award.
The boys performed the hell out of the song but disappointed with how it was filmed. Who ever was in charge of camera work/back lighting they screwed it up.
Wrong camera angle for Lee Know's kick. You see after the kick when they go back to the group smoke crossing the screen. The kick was timed to that screen effect behind them.
Where's Han during his main rap? They had camera on Lee Know thinking he's Han.... You can't mistake our Quokka.
The back lighting at the end when I.N was flipped was too bright to even see he was thrown like a circus performer. You only find out how he was flipped from crowd shots from the side.
This is why they when a K-Pop artist performing they get someone who knows how to have it filmed. Look at how MAMA performances are filmed they are EPIC.

Hey! Thanks for your reaction to Stray Kids! They are an insanely talented self-producing group. Just wanted to geek out here about the MV with reference to the lyrics so you get the context when you watch the VMA performance later on (you definitely should cause they were incredible!). The entire song is based on the fact that Stray Kids often receive a lot of hate for producing their kind of music. In the MV, the haters are also seen to be the ones who "trash talk" which is why they are in a garbage facility in the beginning. With the lyrics, they talk about cleaning up the garbage and kicking anything that is in the way. Interestingly, the one eyed octopus/ monster towards the end of this MV can also be interpreted to be a symbol of surveillance. In other words, haters are compared to the one-eyed monster who constantly criticise the members sitting in the comfort of their homes. That is why towards the end of the MV, Stray Kids is seen to tower above all of the action while the special forces (or the fans, also known as Stays) deal with the haters. It's like petty things for them to engage with haters because the haters are eventually thrown out.
The middle part of the song is a message for the younger generations that constantly chase after success or "shiny things", but lack originality. That's why Stray Kids brag about being "special" like the "limited edition" of *S Class* cause they "don't need an audience for the festival". And that's their intro to the rest of the world, that they are special.
Now think about all this in context to the VMAs. The VMAs was literally their first American award show, so yeah, Stray Kids not only gave an intro to what they are about...they made a statement! They said "we don't care about haters who try to ruin our reputation just cause we don't fit into a category. We are unique." Insane.

God's Menu is a MUST hear from them, that song put them on everyone's radar back in 2020 and made them skyrocket. Huge energy, you'll love it. These guys are unapologetically bombastic with their sound.

Most of their songs are self produced which is not common in KPOP. The track is made by the Sub-unit in SKZ called 3RACHA including 3 members of SKZ Bang chan (leader of group), Changbin (fastest rapper in the industry) and Han (known as the ACE OF KPOP, cause he is soo good at rapping, vocals and dancing). Let me tell you guys, its not just Han who is able to do all these but the whole group. These guys are really special.

Stray Kids or SKZ are crazy!!! and it's no surprise they have so many fans.They have 150+ hit songs during their 5+ years career, doing all kinds of genres in music but at the same time making songs in their on distinctive style. Latest song and JP album is Social Path and their latest Korean album 5 Star is really a no skip song. Also, their live performances on concerts or shows are lit.

Stray Kids let's go! They are an amazing group - crazy talented and incredible writers/producers. They put on an insane live show. Their videos are also some of the best in kpop - they are known for their insane transitions. Some song/mv suggestions to get started:

They debuted in 2018 (originally a 9 member group but one left early on so they've been 8 for most of their career). Three of the members are known collectively as 3RACHA (three - racha) - they are the main writers/producers (Bang Chan, Changbin, Han), but all the members have writing credits. If you like BlackPink, you should also check out Stray Kids remix/cover of Ddu-ddu Ddu-ddu Ddu. It was a live performance for the show Kingdom: Legendary War. Bang Chan, the leader of Stray Kids, is close friends with Lisa from BlackPink.
THANK YOU for the reaction! SKZ is my fav kpop group because they write and produce all their music. Very different with a lot of rap, hip hop edm/drill elements. They create bangers, and we love it.

Definitely watch the VMA performance... they sort of remixed the song and it was an amazing performance. Stray Kids (SKZ) have THE BEST choreo of any K-pop group, as far as "boy bands" go, in my opinion, at least. (If you wanna see an amazing girl group, check out ITZY.)

First, THANK YOU for giving them a try. There are many global STAY (Stray Kids fans) who have been celebrating their awesomeness for YEARS alone because people around them are don't care about/refuse to listen to/are clueless about kpop. THIS is exactly why I knew that having Stray Kids go the VMAs would be a great thing. Most Western music fans had no idea about the FIRE of Stray Kids and the VMAs was a perfect platform to reach a segment of people who really can appreciate the genius of Stray Kids. It's also a catch-22 because it brings around the newer fans who want the group to change into something they aren't. BUT I DIGRESS...
Stray Kids have been around for a while. They are all under 26 and write and produce their music with almost complete autonomy. The SKZ discography is deep with almost 200+ trackss, where their leader, Bang Chan, has touched (written, produced, and or arranged) almost all of them. Their producers-members, called 3Racha consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, likely have hundreds of beats, samples, and completed tracks ready to go. They are absolute masters at making music. In face eveery member can write music, sing, dance, and RAP. What they infuse into their music is the Korean culture and language without apology. Believe us when we say they will FLEX and clap back at haters, Stray Kids has a swag when they do it. They will just do it with words and swag.
For the western/global fans that have been with kpop and Stray Kids for the last few years, this was amazing. Stray Kids had their great predecessors, and they are revered and honored for paving the way, but it's Stray Kids' time to shine and the fans know they can solidify their place in music culture with their talent.
Their music just doesn't fit into one genre. There truly is something for everyone. Start with finding your preference, but I bet you'll like a good majority of the stuff you wouldn't normally listen to! HipHop, Rap, R&B, Rock, Dance, ballad- you name it, they have it. They may even blend some or ALL genres!? Did I mention Anime OSTs?
Suggestions from a seasoned MTV viewer who actually used to watch MTV for MVs before it became garbage of reality TV and as an American Stay who loves almost all music and sound:
-Anything from this year, especially off 5 Star (that should be album of the year, truly)

-Oddinary- THE WHOLE ALBUM IS 🔥 if you don't have time: Maniac, Venom, Charmer, Muddy Water

Thanks for checking out Stray Kids They are a very diverse group who are self produced, they make about 99% of their music and 1 % working with other producers, they make unique unstructured songs and often mix genres in one song, their discography is massive with a lot of different genres raging from rap heavy, edm, ballads and all other genres. I suggest you watch Venom next cause that is one of the most unique sounding one from them in my opinion. I hope you continue your reacting to them cause you'll definitely not be disappointed. 😁

Edit: Most of their songs are self produced which is not common in kpop. If you guys want to know about the members I would recommend you to watch a guide. Checkout the UPDATED 2023 GUIDE by Teanosuga. The guide is pretty long but it will help you guys to know about them more. You can see how the group was formed, achievements, records, etc.
Some basics are that: The group was formed under JYP entertainments company, but the members where handpicked by BANGCHAN the leader of SKZ (which is not common in kpop industry). He first formed a unit called 3RACHA, which is basically the production team of SKZ. They were formed pre-debut, made mixtapes and few songs which is available on youtube.This unit includes 3 members of SKZ: BANG CHAN (Oldest), CHANGBIN, HAN.
Afterwards CHAN (Bang chan) selected the other members too. We have DANCERACHA including 3 members: LEE KNOW, HYUNJIN AND FELIX. They are in charge of the choreo. Most of their choreos are made by these guys with the help of the staffs at JYP. Then we have the VOCALRACHA including the youngest members of the group: SEUNGMIN AND I.N (youngest), in charge of vocals. The fandom is called as STAYs
Actually the group was debut as 9 members, but 1 member called WOOJIN left the group due to personal reasons. He is now a Soloist. He was along the VOCALRACHA, when he was a member of SKZ. In older MVs you guys might see 9 members, that's why I told this.
RIGHT NOW, STRAY KIDS IS A 8 MEMBER BOY GROUP. They are one of the most popular groups in the world.

I'm so excited seeing my boys get the recognition they deserve. They debuted back in 2018 and have been self producing their music ever since. It's surreal seeing how far they have come! I'm so proud of them. You guys should definitely check the performance, it was amazing! When asked which Stray Kids song should people not familiar with their music listen to first, Chris (also known as his Korean name Bang Chan and leader of Stray Kids) suggested people listen to “God’s Menu” first.

If you decide to go down the Stray Kids rabbit hole the top 5 songs I recommend are Topline, Social Path, Thunderous, God's Menu and Maniac. Those all have music videos, but Stray kids also have good songs that don't get videos, but always get colour coded lyric videos on UA-cam that you can check out, top 5 I recommend of those Hall of fame, Domino, Charmer, Maze of memories, and Battleground. These boys have over 150 songs and all of them are at least good, but 75% of them are amazing. Also if you are looking and interested in checking out another new group, Ateez is similar to Stray kids and just as good in my opinion. Stray kids and Ateez are my top 2 groups. I would recommend Bouncy, Wonderland and Hala Hala by Ateez to start with.

YES INDEEED IT IS WORTH IT TO WATCH THE VMA PERFORMANCE OF COURSE!! THEY MADE A NEW REMIX OF IT WITH SOME INSTRUMENTALS AND ADDED A BIT OF A NEW DANCE MOVE TOO!!!! However, the camera work doesn't seem to give justice to the performance. Some parts you need to watch it from the fancam.

Stray Kids is the best musical group, not just best kpop group. They are unique and are doing their own thing. Check out God's Menu, Thunderous, Venom, Domino but the dance rehearsal video, Topline, ITEM, and Heyday. You won't be disappointed
The VMAs are definitely worth checking out, they remixed it and changed up the choreography.
As for which songs to listen to next... God, where to start. There are so many songs to choose from: God's Menu, Thunderous, Back Door, The Sound, Case 143, Maniac... I'd recommend at very least the songs from their newest album 5 star and then their title tracks from past albums (most of the ones I listed above). They also have some really interesting experimental songs like Maze of Memories and Tortoise and the Hare. They have so many songs to choose from, you just have to pick your flavor.
They also have some amazing award show performances, as well as performances they put on for Kingdom (a competition show where six K-pop groups competed to be the ultimate winners), which they ultimately won.
But yeah, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Enjoy the trip down the Skz rabbit hole

You should check out the VMA! They always remix their live show performances so no 2 are ever really alive! The primary producing unit for all the songs are 3 of the members that go by 3racha (changbin, Han and Bang chan) they've been producing their own stuff from the get go. Bang chan is the one that makes most of the track music and beats (he's the one without sleeves for a minute).

To answer some of you curiosities and questions: Stray Kids (aka Skz) is a self produced group. Three of the members make up a unit within the group called 3racha (like siracha except 3 and racha) and they are the lyricists and music producers. This group is also in charge of their own choreography.
The VMA performance is definitely worth checking out because they changed up an already awesome song to make it even more spectacular.

Imo, and I'm a Blink, both do have good Special Effects, but Stray Kids have been doing it longer.
