Thank you so much for reacting to stray kids and opening your mind to K-pop. Stray kids debut 2018 and are a self producing group. The leader (blue hair guy in Maniac) and the deep voice guy are from Australia. Because they are self produced, they love experiment with music mixing genr, beat changes, unique sounds, and melodies all in one song. They can all sing, rap, and dance amazingly. They also have Japanese albums and even have 2 songs that are the intro and outro to an anime called Towers of God. They recently performed at the VMA awards and even won a VMA award for the best K-pop group. Since you love anime, check our ther latest Japanese song Social Path featuring a well-known Japanese Lisa, also Megaverse mv, Venom mv, Topline mv, Thunderous mv, and Super Bowl mv. So many more amazing Stray Kids music. The fandom name is Stay and there is 8 members.

3Racha - Stray Kids' main writing and production unit, consisting of Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids), Changbin and Han
They formed as a rap group before Stray Kids formed, and wrote and produced their own music. When the final members for Stray Kids were chosen, 3Racha was absorbed into the group. They write and produce the vast majority of the music for Stray Kids. But all 8 members have written music for the group.

Stray Kids debuted in 2018. They started out with 9 members (so in their early videos, you'll see 9 people performing) but Woojin left in Oct 2019 and Stray Kids have been an 8-member group ever since.

Welcome to Stray Kids! They have about 200 songs in their discography so lots to explore! Stray Kids was THE group that sucked me down the rabbit hole of Kpop. My teens got me into them! Their fandom ranges from young kids to grandparents, range is decades and all genders! I have to say kpop is an entire experience of sound, visuals, choreo, storylines and fandom service. I’d pretty much gotten tired of western music tbh and now listen to music everyday again.

Stray Kids are really their own genre, imo. They are so different from other kpop groups. They are the only group I consistently listen to. Their music is unique and aggressive and loud, and I love it. Thank you for checking them out, I love when other people discover them. It's so satisfying. lol

Yeah, 3Racha have been writing/producing their own music since before the full band formed, back when they were ACTUAL kids. Like 16, 17, and 19 years old-- barely that, even-- when they were posting stuff on SoundCloud. And that's just page one of their impressive and very long resumé. Freaking impressive.

First, the leader Bang Chan was allowed by JYP to hand pick all of the members himself. They were not placed together in a traditional way, by the company.
Second all of them are all arounders. They can all sing, rap, dance, produce and write.

Stray Kids are also anime fans, they watch it a lot, they make references to famous anime memes in their music and in their other content. They also have done an OST (original sound track song) called TOP for the anime Tower of God, and the song SLUMP was also for that anime. Neither of those has regular videos, but they do have some performance videos. The "First Take" video is a live studio performance of Slump, it's amazing. They recently collaborated with LiSA, one of the super power stars of Japanese anime singers, on a song called Social Path, both the song and the MV are incredible.

i love it when people's first reaction to k-pop is stray kids because their discography is the most diverse, if not, one of the most diverse in k-pop, worlwide even at this point. they've become one of the top successful korean acts in the u.s. stray kids are also self-made which means they produce their OWN music. not a lot of other k-pop groups have that. by that, i mean, i can only name stray kids. they are definitely different from other k-pop groups, including their music. they are very experimental with a lot of genres and have their OWN GENRE: mala taste, if i'm not mistaken. u should definitely listen to megaverse and topline. they're b-sides from their albums. best b-sides of the year. no, decades to come.

Kpop is not only POP, its a lot of genres. There are a LOT of groups and soloist....boy and girl.....that are just amazing. The quality , the choreos, the voices, the songs. Once you go in, you cant come out.

You are right on about their videos being steps above videos we have here in the US. They are for me the difference between I saw before and after Thriller and Billy Jean were released. Stray kidz and bigbang are my absolute favourites K-pop bands cause they are self produced and different, both their discography’s is versatile! Some bigbang songs I recommend is bang bang bang, sober, bae bae, haru haru, loser, and if you!!

You won't regret getting into k-pop or becoming a STAY (fandom name) I was going to explain the whole group and their positions and what units they're in, but I saw everyone already doing that in other comments so you can go and read those, but I will list all their names from oldest to youngest: Bang Chan 26 years old and the leader, Lee-know 25 years old, Changbin 24 years old, Hyunjin 23 years old, Han 23 years old, Felix 23 years old (guy with the deep voice) Seungmin 23 years old, I.N. 22 years old. Also very important, they used to be a nine member group but one of them left (Woojin) for personal reasons, he left around 4-5 years ago I believe, so in some of their older mv you will see a ninth member. A lot of their songs actually have a deep meaning to them, most of their songs talk about mental illness or how it's ok to be different and it doesn't matter what people or society think about you as long as your happy with yourself and growing up, stuff like that, also they don't only have rap like songs, they have many beautiful songs where all the members sing. one thing i really like about this song (lalalala) is that they unexpectedly go from the second verse and prechorus right into the bridge, which for me personally makes the second/last chorus hit even harder. they do something similar to this in Gods Menu, so if u'd like, check that out as well! that was the song that got me into their music. :)

I'm glad you finally ventured into k-pop. My daughter and I have been listening for about 13 years. Like you, I had no idea that Korea was doing that. I had a more traditional view I guess. I did see the MJ influence.
