Thru my Volkswagen Factory trained eyes, sir, you are a genuine Master. There are too many "Butcher" mechanics out there not only using inferior parts, the work they perform disserves a luger 9mm round to the temple. Paying attention to details....These automobiles have so so much engineering in them yet the butcher mechanics shortcut and throw together pieces not caring or having any pride in the final product.
Your build belongs in a museum, sir.

Awesome video. The N62TU is an awesome motor. Underated. X5 with DISA, ram air and high octane fuel will pull hard at high speed especially in cold weather. It appears the rubber is cracked in the harmonic balancer, this can cause random misfire and affect smoothness values in INPA diagnostic. The best non turbo V8 BMW ever produced as long as you change the coolant and oil once a year. Dont forget to silicone the "pressurized" oil weep hole to no where in the upper left timing cover or it will leak in a short time.

@@doctorlavrbmwperformance2467 fate brought me back here and I watched the video again before I wrote this :D may I ask you something? I recently bought a E53 with the N62 engine. The previous owner has probably taken out the chain tensioner screw and put it back in with red sealant paste... and now it drips oil from that place. Can I unscrew the chain tensioner to clean the space and put it back in? No engine rebuild just tensioner out, clean and back in (both sides).
EDIT: Just did that and if anyone ever cares about the same thing then all you need to do is take the old one out, have some rag ready to catch excess oil coming out, prime the new one in oil (pump sumberged until no bubbles come out when pressing and pumping) and then put the new tensioner where the old one was. Done. You can compare if it was a good thing to do when you put the old and new tensioner against each other and press them together. If the new one will stay in place while the old one will literally vanish inside the body then you did good. If they push evenly your old tensioner is probably still okay and did not need changing.

Thank you! I follow both part of your video to rebuild my 645ci N62 engine. I just confuse you mention the torq in Nm and Hm is the same?
Also I note that in this video you did not install two bolts on both side (see at 13:27 and 14:30) that going to the lower timming cover before you install the upper timming cover. Don't know video have edited or cut at some point?
Other you use only one tool flip around to position check intake and exhaust camshaft?

For the valve cover, what was the torque specs you used for those bolts? I can’t seem to find anything on line that says what it is. I know you state 10hm but looked that up that’s just a measurement for the size of socket or nut/bolt head. Thanks for your time

After a n63 engine replacement factory I drove the car about 15 times transmission slipped kept driving it which ruined the guiboo and flex disc for a few trips I was told when I brought it back in my trans pan needed replacement and lost trans oil. they said under warrant the coolant end cap was fixed for free which I guess keep the oil cool for trans?. Just curious as I was adding coolant due to what I thought was a turbo line issue I got fixed. Adding coolant so no overheating on gauge. Is it possible the coolant end cap not cooling the oil caused it to fail?
