Bro the greatest video of all time I literally rebuilt my whole motor just from watching this series 😂😂😂
That was by far the best and most comprehensive step by step engine rebuild video that I have ever seen. Well done.
Thank you friend!
This is the greatest N62 engine rebuild video online. Thanks for this illustration.
Thank you too friend!
This video is Gold for n62 owners . Thank you .
Thank you very much!
Amazing videos, looks very easy, but parts ordering it is key to sucessfully to turn on this engine
I LEARNED SO MUCH in around 1 hr then I do in COLLEGE
Great 3 parts series on the N62
This is a perfect example of what should be done 👍👍👍 excellent
I have done a few n62 v8 and I enjoyed these 3 vidios
Clear and direct for people wanting to DIY on there own N62
Thanks! We will try hard!
Best Video N62 V8 Ever 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thru my Volkswagen Factory trained eyes, sir, you are a genuine Master. There are too many "Butcher" mechanics out there not only using inferior parts, the work they perform disserves a luger 9mm round to the temple. Paying attention to details....These automobiles have so so much engineering in them yet the butcher mechanics shortcut and throw together pieces not caring or having any pride in the final product.
Your build belongs in a museum, sir.
Thank you friend! Nice to read your comment!
I wish someone would do similar video for the older m60/m62 engines. They all seem to be sped up time lapses
This video is incredible. So much detail
This is thorough to the teeth. I only know of one person who can be even more thorough than this. JESUS The LORD.
Great video. Thanks for speeding up all the torquing of the bolts, it makes the video more enjoyable to watch.
Bro you are now my best friend. The best video I have ever watched on assembling any car engine. So much info in such a short video. Bravo
Thank you very much BRO!:)
The best video out here for the n62 engine! Hands down!
Thank you for this great video and a huge thanks apart for all the torque specs !
Wow best video and instructions I've ever seen! And I've seen thousands great job!!!
Guys you made THE best video! Thank you so much for it!
I love that side mount engine stand.
Awesome video. The N62TU is an awesome motor. Underated. X5 with DISA, ram air and high octane fuel will pull hard at high speed especially in cold weather. It appears the rubber is cracked in the harmonic balancer, this can cause random misfire and affect smoothness values in INPA diagnostic. The best non turbo V8 BMW ever produced as long as you change the coolant and oil once a year. Dont forget to silicone the "pressurized" oil weep hole to no where in the upper left timing cover or it will leak in a short time.
WoW thank you so much I have been looking for this info all over and you put it all in one place, and this is one of the best videos i have seen so far on youtube thanks again.
Amazing!!! Very good editing and simple. Someday I will rebuilt my n62 with this video as source .
Thank you friend!

This is the first time I've ever actually seen a full engine built. Very cool

Complimenti DOCTOR LAVR, bellissimo tutorial, fai altri video su i nostri motori BMW... UBER ALLES!
Good 👍👍👍
Note: If something looks simple and easy to do then be damn sure it is going to take you 300 times longer and it will be far from easy :)
PS: Loved the video very much.
Thank you friend for your comment!:)
@@doctorlavrbmwperformance2467 fate brought me back here and I watched the video again before I wrote this :D may I ask you something? I recently bought a E53 with the N62 engine. The previous owner has probably taken out the chain tensioner screw and put it back in with red sealant paste... and now it drips oil from that place. Can I unscrew the chain tensioner to clean the space and put it back in? No engine rebuild just tensioner out, clean and back in (both sides).
EDIT: Just did that and if anyone ever cares about the same thing then all you need to do is take the old one out, have some rag ready to catch excess oil coming out, prime the new one in oil (pump sumberged until no bubbles come out when pressing and pumping) and then put the new tensioner where the old one was. Done. You can compare if it was a good thing to do when you put the old and new tensioner against each other and press them together. If the new one will stay in place while the old one will literally vanish inside the body then you did good. If they push evenly your old tensioner is probably still okay and did not need changing.
جميله جداً شكرا لك
Good
Very good video lots of detail can you also put like what tools to have for the job and tool description maybe at the end of the video, thanks for doing great videos
nice vid's ,, it seems then some one got lost in translation is not 80hm is '80 Nm'
Doing the job and I heard hm. Been searching for the meaning of hm. Thanks for the clarification
ممتاز جدا
Craftsman's spirit
Excellent Video, My adrenaline is pumping after seeing it. I am in middle of disassembling the engine but feel excited and confident that i should be able to take it apart, clean it, and put it back together. Could you mention names of tool used the one look likes weight scale which goes in between the torque wrench and bolts?
💪💪💪
Thank you! I follow both part of your video to rebuild my 645ci N62 engine. I just confuse you mention the torq in Nm and Hm is the same?
Also I note that in this video you did not install two bolts on both side (see at 13:27 and 14:30) that going to the lower timming cover before you install the upper timming cover. Don't know video have edited or cut at some point?
Other you use only one tool flip around to position check intake and exhaust camshaft?
You are the best 🤍🔥
Yes
Gracias por el vídeo!👍🏼👌🏽yo también tengo un N62 y me gustaría encontrar un taller dónde hacer ese trabajo.
Great job, but you missed 4 bolts for head
If possible also do a N73 engine video! :)
Please do the M60B40
Красава💪💪💪браво
When the pin is in, locking the crankshaft, cylinder 1 is NOT at TDC, right? All pistons are half way up so that we don't bend any valves accidentally when we set the timing? Correct?
Wow fuck this was awesome !!!!!!!!
Essentric shaft part ?. I was trying to see how that was rebuilt
do you need to re tread the block for the head bolts?
Awesome video congratulations. Everything is so clear. Im hoping to rebuilt my engine soon. Do you have any recomendation where to buy a good quality n62 rebuilt kit parts, and how to go about sizes of kit?
Which way does the oil filter housing seal go on above the upper oil pan?
What is the difference between hm and nm
Thank you for your video. Can you tell me which valve spring is longer, intake or exhaust? I mean the exaust valve springs are longer, but I'm not sure. Thank you!
For the valve cover, what was the torque specs you used for those bolts? I can’t seem to find anything on line that says what it is. I know you state 10hm but looked that up that’s just a measurement for the size of socket or nut/bolt head. Thanks for your time
How do I remove the cover around the oil seal if I'm going to replace my seal it's hard to come off I got the bolt out already
Which head gasket you’re used to?
Is it possible to replace the crankshaft, rods e bearings with the engine in the car?
Great video, where could i get that engine stand?
After a n63 engine replacement factory I drove the car about 15 times transmission slipped kept driving it which ruined the guiboo and flex disc for a few trips I was told when I brought it back in my trans pan needed replacement and lost trans oil. they said under warrant the coolant end cap was fixed for free which I guess keep the oil cool for trans?. Just curious as I was adding coolant due to what I thought was a turbo line issue I got fixed. Adding coolant so no overheating on gauge. Is it possible the coolant end cap not cooling the oil caused it to fail?
@DoctorLavr BMW performance Thanks a lot guys, really nice work there ! May i have link for the engine holder ?
What repairs should I do for n62b44 at 100k miles. What are the weak points.
Does anyone know where I can get the "special" tools?
HI well done for the video. A question, what value is Hm in Nm? I can not seem to find it anywhere.
Hm is the same as Nm, it is simply the way Russians refer to Nm in the work manuals.
Ola vc saberia me dizer qual e o torque to motor bmw m62 da 540i
Once i do everything shown here am I supposed to reset the Valvetronic, and if i have to do it, how do i do it?
Hello my friend
The engine of the BMW N73 , but spring what I blended there is a difference between its size, is it small for the exhaust or for the clean air?
Any difference between e60 530 & e60 550 front suspension ?
Hi
Most of your toque docs are in NM but some are in HM ? Is it typo or how do I convert HM TO FOOT plonks?
front crankshaft oil seal is 2 pieces? when i order it ?
If something leaks I’ll know exactly where from!
tightening torque Hm?
bonjour et merci ces moteurs sont fiables 645 et 650 ??? MERCI
where brand is that engine stand? need one😁
Can you help me i have problem with n62
How much does the whole engine weight
Really tempting to rebuild the engine in my x5... I watched through both videos and they were great. Did you have to gap the piston rings?
Also no mention of valve stem seals I imagine you put new ones in but didn't mention it.
Did you have to do anything specific with repair or replacement for vanos??
11:41 of Part 1 of the build as this is part 2
Bmw 7seris 745i e65 engine cold start missing problem
Which engine stand is this?
what does Hm convert to in ft.lb??? not a single torque wrench has that... only Nm and Ft-Lb and google keeps trying to correct it to Nm instead of Hm
Anyone have name or link to the engine stand?
Where can I get parts?
Torque
nm=hm ..??
How do I convert HM to NM
Where is I can find original video? Or is there a video of disassembly?
Friend, you can watch the first part of this video. Just find it in our videos :)
