Keep mealworms in dry eggfood with a few dandelion leaves added in a shallow insect box. Gives extra protein for the Brambles as the mealworms will eat the eggfood
Delighted to see you have introduced the GOLDFINCHES , I have tried breeding them in the past without any success, hopefully I can pick up some tips for you and have some success with breeding them this year .
You should get a Male Red Siskin, I know not British but put too a nice Red Factor hen as you would know produce F1 mules, then put back to yellow or red hen's produce lovely birds. Plus they don't stop singing. Just mix it up a bit ?
hay .. greetings from Indonesia, good luck always in our area we call that bird red siskin, if in Indonesia it can reach 100 dollars for the price of 1 tail that is already established and wants to sing in a hanging cage, we usually use the bird for pasting other types of birds that we will compete
Mealworms dont give is crapp food the best way is a good egg food whit lots off fresh soak seeds littel sprouts on and some peas and pinky's and ant eggs ... mealworms and buffalos is good for chickens ... give them no all day's dandilons and a good eggfood and a mix off fine seeds not like canary seeds but carrot seeds and thistelseeds perrila seeds grey and black salad seeds and a good mix wild seeds mix all togther and it will come good
