This is a very well done video Bruce. It really encompasses what the clients wanted and how they brought that into reality. This Studebaker was another great build for us as it is our passion to provide the services and expertise to build vehicles like this for discerning clients. Thank you for presenting the car well and showing the passion Karen and Vince have for the car. The driving shots are a great touch to the video as well. Thank you
Karen, you are my hero. I’ve been mixing automatics all my life. A true driver you are ). Such a beautiful build. The 53 stude is the most important and beautiful car in history
Love the look of this car. I own a 1957 Studebaker GH. After 40 years of custom cars, I wish the trend would change to putting as much creativity into the original power plants like what has been done to the chassis, and body. Would love to see original engine with turbos, superchargers, F.I., rather than a transplant. It would be so much more interesting. Modern brakes, transmission, steering, etc. allowed!
You might find this interesting, It is a quick walk around of my '65 cruiser retrofitted with a 289 Stude engine with fuel injection. ua-cam.com/video/LwiOpD53MbM/v-deo.html
Ron, I have a 53 2R5 pickup that I bought over 30 years ago and when I bought it, it had a strong Chevy 350 in it, but being young and idealistic, I couldn’t let that stand, It’s got a 289 Studebaker engine in it now as it should.
LOVE this car. Was going to build my own 56 Hawk restomod but then 2022 hit and I gotta wait 3 yrs to resume plans, but man this video got me happy! I hope you two, Karen and Vince, are enjoying the car!
Absolutely gorgeous car! The Studebakers were way ahead of their time. Jellybean did a flawless job on this. Guessing it took pretty deep pockets to pull if off as well, but hey, it's a once in a lifetime car!
You Sir are one lucky fella to have such an intelligent and beautiful Lady such as she! Any girl that know style and design AND Studebaker's is a keeper! I moved from South Bend in 60 and we lived about a quarter mile from the rear gate of the factory!
What a well thought out and executed build. I am a huge fan of several models perhaps the Golden Hawk being number one. This model is just stunning, and the manual gear box is icing. Congratulations you two. Hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
My dad bought a 54 new, he continued to keep that car until 1965 even after buyer new carsin between that time period. He was always going to restored the car but was his life long habit he never finished it . One of the things I learned not to do. I learned early if I started something finish it, even if I got a better Idea I still finish what I started. I reme.er coming home from college and seeing the garage and seeing all the unfinished projects y dad had started, that left an impression on me.
That is one of the rare examples of a car where I feel the post is better looking than the hardtop. I have always liked the design of the early ones before they bolted on fins. A fine example of taking a beautiful car and making better, great in every way no wonder it won first in show.
It is a stunning car. When we shot that episode, we got stopped every couple of minutes by people asking about the car. When I talk to Jellybean they say, 'how would Studebaker do it if they were making cars today". That's the methodology they put into each of their beautiful restomods. Thanks for watching.
Glad to see the LOVE for "Loewy Coupe." Although Dad bought a 57 Golden Hawk for"Mom", and I was King of the Crew when I got to drive it. I never liked as much as the 53 Commander V8 I learned to drive on. Dad even helped me make it Kool. Floor shift, dual glass packs, 3" lowering blocks, full 'Moon hub caps and of course....Black dice hanging from the RV mirror. I still have those Dice, just wish we still had the Commander.
We used a 67 - 69 Camaro front clip. It has the right track width for the car and provides room for the LS swap as well. We used Speedtech suspension all around, including their 3 link torque arm in the rear, so it drives an handles at least as good as it looks.
I take my cap off to you two, you could have just gone out and bought a Mercedes , Caddy etc etc ,and given viewers another drab boring modern car to look at and ignore , but you decided to spent a lot of money and gave us this beautiful gem.
It's nice to see these beautiful cars restored. Check out the latest episode on a 58 Pontiac. ua-cam.com/video/BL5Jp6CFGDA/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback. I have a few things coming up that you will like. If you haven't already, be sure to check out the segment on Jellybean Autocrafters. In that segment you will see an old Pontiac Parisienne which I'm doing a segment on as soon as the weather is good enough to get it outside. Thanks for watching.
@@larrybailey43 I do not know. There is a segment I have done on Jellybean Autocrafters where they talk about frames. Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/qK_4hKBB2qk/v-deo.html
@@bobhennig6597 I'm not sure what they paid for the car when they bought it but it was in pretty bad shape. Karen and Vince mentioned to me that they could see through the floorboards so it had pretty bad rust. Jellybean actually didn't want them to get the car because they felt it would cost way less to just find one with less rust.

The Studebaker Hawk is an unappreciated "muscle car" which could compete with GTOs . This is obviously a great rendition - nice if you have the $$$. And, yes, NO AUTOMATIC ! Thank you !
Osooyoos I can’t believe it when I saw that I picked fruit there in 76 thumbing my way up there now I bought a 53 commander and when I thumbed back to surrey I got a ride in my first studebaker lark red 4 speed he laid 3 patches of rubber 25 feet longer on each shift at surrey mall bus stop area . Just unreal that I’m watching this video

Original windshield wash bag under the hood was a nice touch.
Super nice build.
Jellybean always does a nice job. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching!
I think 53-54 Studebakers are one of the most beautiful cars ever. And I love that retro mint green color.
The colour really suits the car. Thanks for watching.
I appraised this vehicle. It is truly stunning in every area! Karen and Vince can be very proud of this world class build.
It really is gorgeous! It takes a lot of commitment to embark on a project like that.

I think a big part of it for them was to have reliability because they were planning on doing long trips. I think COVID has interfered with that plan.
