La marseille, they actually use several parts of it in 1812 overture, sadly Napoleon didn’t care much for the song, and it wasn’t brought back into the French Army Until decades after napoleons death, and a year before 1812 overture was produced.
The only difference I noticied is that the anthems of the nations on the french side are less ear destroying and Prussia finally got their actual anthem. edit: French v2 is somehow louder than a teenage girl seeing a cockroach in their bathroom.
@acontado_pixel I understand this post is a little old, but many nations that had royalty used God Save the King as their anthem, or at least the melody of it. The newer Prussian anthem is also the same melody. If you listen closely, you'll realize that even the Russian Empire's anthem has the same tune. Other nations that used the same tune were the German Empire later on as well as Austria-Hungary. But yes, the anthem did originate in the UK.
