personally i disagree. 10 seconds (7 with the implant) still guarantees that you be dead if youre trying to reload on the frontlines. you need to back up anyway, at which point 5-7sec honestly doesnt mean much. certainly not worth tanking your dps for, anyway
I really like your inclusion of evidence rather than just opinion. Also, kudos to Plarium for not following a newest weapon is best weapon approach. I hope they work on balancing it better though.
like wiggy said, im sure they tried to make it (as well as every other weapon) fairly balanced, but they just have a really bad system so its always hit-or-miss. anyway yea, i do know they dont try to make the newest stuff the best, and thats always good to see (especially given how long it takes for things to be available for f2p )
I would say hellfire wins in the style points category, but miniguns are still really cool too. So even that isnt really a clear win....sad. For the changes to the hellfire: I like the idea of the DoT being stronger, but I think it makes sense for the DoT to stack then. Because if not, the player can land it and then back off and I think that would make playing against it particularly problematic (especially against seeker), unless you add in a longer time for the burn mechanic to proc. I was thinking either the burn mechanic could stack DoTs for added damage as you stay on target, or the main damage could get significantly higher as long as the target remains burned. In any case, it clearly lacks overall damage to compete with not only other close up weapons, but other weapons in general.
It also needs a bigger radius, so u can back around/curve it around corners like in War Robots. It's a worthless wpn. Especially at 40m. Also the stats look good, but like u said, the dmg over time/fire rate needs to be improved.
the "in-and-out" playstyle was kinda what i had in mind ngl. not many weapons allow delayed kills like that, so i think it could be cool. anyway yea, effect stacking is smth ive considered for other weapons but hadnt crossed my mind for hellfire, would def be a cool feature
sup ruflfles thanks for replying to my idea in your hellfire 12 live stream i am the guy who gave the idea of 64 energy mechs it meant a lot to me cuz rarely youtubers respond to their fans but you do and thats the trait i love about you the most so yeah keep up the good work
I love the inclusion of the spinup time, minigun is one of my favourite weapons so I've learnt more or less how to constantly spinup the weapon which has genuinely helped so much when going on a killing spree 😅😂 the flamethrower concept is still really cool but I'll probably still stick with repeaters on my seeker
This flame thrower should do more damage the longer it burn and the flame turn to blue or sumtin... A sticky ,flamin mine thrower would be nice too..and yes, Minigun is still awesome.
Closer than I was expecting. Another weapon I might have to buy just for the cool factor. Mini guns are still the best and I do exactly what you said. I press the fire button early so there is no delay when I engage a enemy mech. I have Mini gun 8's, 10's, 12's and 16's. Cheers Ruffles and you are the man.👍❤️🍻🇦🇺 I just renewed my membership mate.
A big factor is also the magazine size. With minigun after one kill, u probably have 100-150 bullets left for 2-3 extra kills even if reload is longer afterwards. With hellfire after one kill, u used half of the magazine so u can maybe do 1 more kill... It would be great if the burn effect was stronger like redox' caustic and could spread on the ground to other mechs... 🔥😮😅😎
im glad you brought that up. this is the main issue i have with Chain Gun, actually.. the dps is good but it only has enough mag to reliably kill 1 thing before needing to reload, which just makes it terrible. buffing hellfire dps would also make it take less mag to kill things tho
@RuFFlesGaming yup, chain gun or dreadshot or carbine have tiny mags and boring play. Am now playing Mech Wars, the original Mech arena and having lots of fun. There is also a flamethrower in 3 different versions light, med and heavy. Same for an electric gun. Mechs come in all forms and some have 2-3 competences. It makes me sad to see how limited hellfire is when they could have made the amazing flamethrower everyone was dreaming of... 🔥😑😖💪
Hellfire is awful. I sacrificed for my clan and spent the $$ to get the wpn and leg implants. At 40m it's worth zero investment. Thanks for posting this video, i think it drives the point home.
A good way to buff hellfire would be allowong ot to stack the burn effect. Like, it takes what, 2 seconds to start burning? So, the DoT effect stacks the more time you keep hitting the opponent. It'll also give it a certain niche, where you use it to apply multiple stacks of Burn and then move on to the next target, jumping from target to target without killing them while firing, something that Minigun doesn't do very well. Additionally, would be cool if the burn effect did something more than just DoT. Like say, increasing the reload time for abilities and weapons by a certain percentage. Again, the goal would be to make Hellfire a weapon that doesn't just straight up kill you like revoker or storm racks, but as more of a strategic utility weapon. Or just give it a 100m range and an auto recharging magazine; and boom you have a single implant minigun junior.
I think it doesn't much need a buff as much as like a mechanic change. It should do well against multiple enemies so it would be nice to see it damage through mechs kinda similar to arc torrents.
I will be honest with you...i am using hell fire and i just love it ...the way it looks...its flames ...its just so good. This is one of those times where i wont mind loosing some fire power for some looks lol. Also i think if we are comparing stuff we should concider everything including reload time. I think thats the part which makes it a bit more convenient for mid game players ...also if they release some varients for credits (ofc in a century lol) then its a no brainer.
Also I mentioned the reload time ... because we have fricking outlaws in the game . PPL aren't buying it much coz it's just a legendary guardian ... but PPL will surely buy it after the offers start ramping up.
the reload is shorter, yes, but its still long. you will not survive 10s on the frontlines without any dmg output, so youll need to take cover and back out anyway. at that point the difference between 10s and 17s is much less than you think
Hellfire: Short ranged minigun with overtime burn Minigun: The Minigun Chaingun: Long range minigun, pray for critical hits because it's weaker Dreadshot: Bots with it are annoying, that's all.
Chain Gun has similar dps to Minigun, the problem is the mag size. MG can reliably kill 2-3 things with 1 mag, CG needs to reload after every kill, so you waste a lot of time with that
3 questions: 1does solis's personal ability cooldown and the genaral mech ability cooldown stack is it worth getting. 2 how to win play offs effectivly? 3 how often do you and other creaters get together?
Hellfire would be much cooler if the burn affect could be passed onto mechs that come in contact with whoevers burning and if the flames could affect the environment, ie walls/floors/ ect. They could also scale the damage based on optimal range and dps, but i think those buffs would make it too op 😅
this is unrelated but right now i “suddenly” have the motivation to grind for weapons and mechs i never got. So what should i get? 1. Guardian 2. Stalker 3. Shadow (don’t you dare tell me to buy it) 4. Tengu (maybe worth it) 5. Gauss Rifle 4 (for lancer) 6. Rank up Lancer (for context i am doing this since mid game is kinda boring

I think the flamethrower still holds up well with its much faster reload time. So it’s still pretty balanced

Oh I don’t think they intentionally made a poop weapon. They seem to hit about 1/5th of the time.
like wiggy said, im sure they tried to make it (as well as every other weapon) fairly balanced, but they just have a really bad system so its always hit-or-miss.

The design is way too organic looking imo. Doesn’t fit in with anything else in the game, save for various legendary monster skins.

Nice comparison. And also, miniguns without the spinning time would kill mechs even faster.

This flame thrower should do more damage the longer it burn and the flame turn to blue or sumtin... A sticky ,flamin mine thrower would be nice too..and yes, Minigun is still awesome.
Also keeping MG spinning without firing isn’t tough either. Between mag size & range, there’s no reason on earth to own Campfire
sad but true

Nice video comparison! I wonder how hellfire performs against seekers trying to ambush you vs miniguns.
vs Seeker? im not sure, but probably not great. most other weapons would be able to kill it before it teleports back

@@RuFFlesGamingwell repeaters are still the worst cqc weapon, so any hope that hellfire gonna be relevant is really tiny imo 😂
Hi RuFFles! How was your day today?
not bad, thanks. hope youre doing well also
I think hellfire should have back damage, its is a flame after all. Makes sense if it goes around the mech
so it just always applies back dmg, is what youre saying?

ooo stacking is a cool idea. additional effects would be interesting as well
Wait, you haven't seen the minigun's 1 second delay before firing.
idk how/when i even implied that... yes, the spinup is very noticeable
I think it doesn't much need a buff as much as like a mechanic change. It should do well against multiple enemies so it would be nice to see it damage through mechs kinda similar to arc torrents.
like Howler (projectile goes through enemies). maybe just a larger spread could make that work 🤔
yeah just like that

1. no, you can only use one or the other
2. theres no "trick" to winning those
3. besides Sentry and sometimes Platinum, we really dont
how do i get the hellfire?????
Here is a query, does boosted damage affect the burn damage at all? So say, Seeker, does the burn damage(DoT) increase with seekers 30% bonus damage?
nope. you can see it in my initial review video, Seeker did not increase the burn dmg (nor does pilots/implants)
Hellfire would be much cooler if the burn affect could be passed onto mechs that come in contact with whoevers burning and if the flames could affect the environment, ie walls/floors/ ect.
