Well I live in south africa believe me it is surviving 40 degrees an it performs like nothing, actually I was worried that the weather is too cold for the car😂 here it allows you to open flaps on cold start I didn't know that it doesn't open flaps when it's too cold😂 anyways that's a brilliant car so far 2024 doesn't have much from the car world that's blowing my mind like this when it came out especially the touring

Idling with this cold oil is really bad for the engine, especially if you consider most people nowadays stick to "long life" (bullshit) oil change intervalls of 2 years!!! and 30.000kms, which is WAY too much!
@@bq5577x yeah, agreed. Real world place I've seen this be an issue is ski resorts. You park your car up at the resort all day, then drive down the mountain. Since you're going downhill, the engine isn't even injecting fuel when you're coasting. If you don't let the car war up with even a minute of driving before heading down, you're basically running an engine cold. Makes it really important to have good cold viscosity. Another thing people forget is that there's more factors than just the miles and type affecting oil longevity. A well maintained and engineered engine that has good cooling will be fine to 10k on synthetic, but if your car runs higher than usual oil temperatures or has issues with allowing moisture in, which can be from not warming the oil up enough to evaporate it or having a coolant leak internally, you can have worse lubrication at 2000 miles than the maintained/better engineered engine at 10-15k.

-23 is a regular winter temperature in central Russia. I start my lada 2105 with solex carburator at -35 night cold. My neighbour can't start his injector toyota corolla. And he said that it is because of ECUs bad stock programm.

1:20 putting the temperature up defeats purpose of auto climate control. You should be pressing the middle button to increase how fast auto mode will try and get to that temperature. Either way on auto mode it won't blow much air until it knows there is sufficient heat coming from the engine, which is a good thing as you don't want cold air blowing on you
I'm in Arizona, so freezing temps like this are not my strong suit. Isn't it wise to let the engine get to operating temperature before jumping on the throttle like he is in the videos? Isn't it also good to wait several more miles to let everything else warm up given the amount of components that require lubrication like super/turbo chargers?
With the way metal expands at higher temperature the engine is designed to run best at operating temperatures. The longer an engine runs outside of that the more harmfrul for the engine. Obviously high stress outside of operating temperature is bad too. Best thing to do is start the car and start driving at up to 1/3 of the rev counter, warming up the engine gentle but swiftly. And yeah he revs the engine up to 5k rpm while having no more than 60° oil temp which is not recommended if you want the car to last a long while
How are the brakes on the new car? I seen so many people online spec them out with carbon ceramics, is that really necessary or do you find the M brakes do the job?
So far they seem really good. But haven’t been to the track yet. Had an M2 before (normal brakes) and it really struggeled on the track after a few laps.
I haven't test them, nor I own a vehicle of such specs, but carbon ceramic brakes are mostly for track purposes. If you don't plan to track the car regularly you shouldn't need them

70 degree is enough - after 50c oil is on top state to work as in 100c.

what tires do you run in this weather? I am currently running all seasons because a lot of winter tires doesn't fit.
Winter tires - Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 all around. Front 245/40 R19, back 275/35 R20.

gas engines generally start easily, they don't cough much. diesels are usually having a hard time starting though.
