I saw the remake version and it was ok, but I have the problem of seeing the Frank Sinatra, Angela Lansbury version with Laurence Harvey years ago and loved it. I still feel for *those* characters because they all did a wonderful job. Go see that one. Angela Lansbury was the perfect and her speech to her son was chilling and believable. I think she may have been nominated for an oscar for it. And Laurence Harvey was great with the robotic/pathos combo.
@@MovieRelated What you have not seen that one yet, you have to watch it if you want kind of a dark humor laugh it is a classic. If movies do not start up (I am willing to bet Don has seen it) this would be a good one for the future.

And one more thing: Have you guys ever thought of having Angelina do a guest shot? It would be nice to get the feminine angle, especially on some romance movies.
Angelina is a bit camera shy. Though not sure why she is needed. Everybody knows men are more in tuned with feelings and the art of romance. Besides, we include Marc for the feminine point of view.
@@MovieRelated You're hilarious! That makes me think of a greeting card I saw years ago. (outside): what's the difference between a single guy and a rock?(inside): the rock is slightly more sensitive. (wink, wink)
I've never seen it. But I may have heard enough to know all the 'suspense and wonder ' Sheese. Next time give a spoiler alert. Just kidding. If I do decide to watch it, I can now say, " I knew that. Because Paul, Marc, and Don told me" 😂
So sounds like you guys should watch the 1962 version also. I liked the stars in the remake but I liked the original movie better. (Usually the case for me and remakes) I did both and found myself waiting for the 2nd to end. It was a good watch though. I'd say a 6 for me, but I'll give the original a solid 7.
@@MovieRelated So I got to watch the 2004 Manchurian Candidate and I have to say even though Denzel is my fave, the old movie is better; for example, Raymond didn't recognize his houseman as the man who brainwashed him but Marco did immediately and they had a kung fu fight; this shows that the brainwashing didn't stick because Marco was mentally stronger; in the new one they're both controlled by chips. Raymond shoots his mother with his medal of honor on, symbolic, new one well he lines himself up. Lastly the Manchurian connection due to the cold war meant something but in the new movie it was just a corporation. Oh one more thing, the queen of diamonds was a visual cue linking to mother; in the new one it was a phrase, lost the visual cue. Still liked it of course, but like Tammy I have to say the original is better.
This movie a phenomenal the plot the acting ...everything is dope .....but could you imagine if this sort of thing has happened in the White House before ? ..how would we ever know
At first I thought you were talking about the 62 Sinatra version; you should compare it with the "new" one :) Denzel is my favorite actor so I'm way biased but the old one is a classic.
@@MovieRelated So I watched it last night (I happened to have the DVD) and its quite good but my kids said it was "slow" :) Definitely more timely with the cold war going on.
To troll or not to troll - that is the question. Should I point out that the original Manchurian Candidate was released in 1962, not 1964 as Marc said? Or should I be kind and just let it go? (FYI - still loving that painting...)

Love a mystery that stays a mystery until the very end. ( Unlike Mark’s scores in your trivia games)😂
oooh! Roasted!
Ouch
Marc Mailhot Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Carolyn Nowak No no. Don’t be sorry. It was brutally awesome.
Marc Mailhot I’ll still keep rooting for the underdog!
Oooooo have never heard of “ The Manchurian Candidate” but will give it a watch 👍♥️
I did watch it back when it came out and remember to enjoy it. I will watch it again one of this days. great review!!
Denzel movies are usually pretty good. Now I hear the original is even better.

I would rate the new version as a 4 and the original as an 8.
Wow, I guess we'll eventually have to do a comparison video.
Ugh! I can't wait to go to the theater again and have big bucket of theater popcorn and watch a new movie 🙂.
Amen to that.
But in trading places Jamie lee Curtis brought Dan Aykroyd back to her apartment because she felt sorry for him and look how that turned out LOL!
Oh Oh, haven't seen it, but I'll trust you.
