How should I practice baseball with no garage or basement in the snow and cold? Thank you! Your videos are great. Hopping for an answer. Thank you again!!!
As a HS umpire of 15 years, I do the same thing as Jon says at the plate meeting. I always wrote on the lineup card the name of each coach so I could learn it and address them by name. Way more respectful than saying, “Hey, Coach” or “Hey, Blue”. My name’s not Blue. His isn’t Coach. Teaching the kids that formality was always a big deal to me.
A great coach works with the parents too! I’m fortunate that my dad has taught me baseball on and off the field for years, and last year was my first year not having him coach, but this helped me realize he wasn’t the only coach ever to work with the parents about home drills for their kids to do.
I'm glad somebody else makes their team say "mr umpire". My coach makes us address the umpire as that and I dont recall 1 other team we played the last 2 year that says mr umpire.
I’d start training your arms a bit more Focus on building more arm strength and learn to build a good, smooth, consistent motion Also try different arm deliveries (by the ear, 2/3, etc... watch some videos about pitching arm deliveries)
When parents are helping on the field, they are addressed as Coach. I don't want to hear "dad" or "mom" between the lines. Coaches should be treating every ball player the same. Be a parent off the field and a coach on the field.

I know you get this a lot but your videos are amazing! Not a lot of former MLB players who go this far to help aspiring players!

Do you have any tips for me at a small D1 school? I know it’s hard to make it out. I’m sure I can. Just want any advice that there is!
