    In spring, go to Tokyo for cherry blossoms.
    In the summer, go to Okinawa, where you can see coral reefs.
    In autumn, go to Kyoto and Nara for the autumn leaves and temples.
    In winter, head to the ski resorts of Niseko and Hakuba.

    Welcome to Tokyo! I just discovered your channel a few days ago watching you two travel in China. It's really interesting to see your reactions of all the local experiences. Off the beat tip. Tokyo, although being the cultural, political, financial and everything hub of Japan, for food, it's not that great lol. Not saying it's bad because it isn't. But compared to the regional parts of Japan from which all the local cuisines have gathered and blended, Tokyo is the watered down version of all the flavours of Japan. Japanese food in Tokyo is like Disneyland food. It's Simplified and about 50% authentic of the real stuff. Even the ramen! I'll probably get some hate for that comment lol. There is a local cuisine indigenous to Tokyo and it's called "Monjya-yaki." Ironically, its actually a watered down version of Osaka's 'Okonomiyaki.' You can eat Monjya-yaki in Asakusa but I don't recommend it because it actually looks like vomit while it's being prepared and cooked at your table. It seems like for most tourists 7-11 and conbini food is a staple because of it's uniqueness. Enjoy your stay!

      You should feel a lack of knowledge. Do you know the Michelin restaurant guide? It has the highest number of Bib Gourmand stars in the world. Number 2 is Paris, France. Number 3 is Kyoto.

    • @niceboke
      @niceboke 6 місяців тому

      @@socks_cat356 Do Michelin restaurants count? The class was originally created by Michelin to promote tourism in continental USA. I don’t think locals go to Michelin restaurants except for special occasions or are rich. My rich uncle took me to a Michelin Japanese cuisine when he visited me in Tokyo. He loved every bite and was amazed. I thought it tasted less than average in comparison to tons of places in smaller towns around Japan and was just overpriced. So my knowledge is real and with experience. Not google. edit. Been in Tokyo 20 years. Have never tasted anything here that is half as good as the stuff in the countryside. And every non-Tokyo native I’ve shared this sentiment with has agreed with me on this. So tell me what is your knowledge base?

    • @socks_cat356
      @socks_cat356 6 місяців тому

      @@niceboke Are you saying this in your right mind? After all, it's just your subjective opinion. The significance of Bib Gourmand is its affordable pricing and published objective data.

    • @niceboke
      @niceboke 6 місяців тому

      @@socks_cat356 It’s the subjective opinion of mine and most non Tokyo Japanese that I’ve had the conversation with. I don’t actually know what the standards are for getting Michelin stars, but They’ve given a pack of instant noodles one Michelin star. You can buy it at a Japanese seven eleven. It has a Michelin star but it doesn’t taste anywhere near as good as real noodles from any old place. Michelin star is just a gimmick for tourism. I’m sure the standards mean you’ll get a good restaurant but in terms of actual taste, it doesn’t mean as much as you think it does.

      Taking the ferry/boat from Asakusa (station opposite of the golden turd) to Odaiba.

    I could 'feel' your excitement of being in and experiencing Toyko. I'm with Michael - you in the Maid Cafe was one of the most uncomfortable vibes I've seen of you - haha. Tokyo seems so interesting, hope to see more. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

    Hi Josie, this was so much fun, I love seeing Tokyo with you two, the sites, the foods, the fun things to do, it’s all great👍👍👍 I wish I was 40yrs younger and able to experience this in person but I can’t so I’m thankful to you & Michael for sharing this adventure and enabling me to experience it thru you🫶 Fun fact, 7-Eleven stores started out in the US, Texas to be exact, I was fortunate to have one within 10 minutes walking distance from my New Jersey home then they closed up and moved away, I think they all went to Asia, they love those stores there😝 Anyhoo, thanks so much, looking forward to your next vid♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️

      So I will be going to Japan for a layover when I go to the Philippines and going back there on the way back to the states. I was curious about the airport. How long did it take for you to go from leaving the plane to getting out of customs immigration? I have a 12-hour window to go around Tokyo so I wanted to make sure I made the most of my time. Great videos by the way

      I am impressed with the poster for at least trying to speak in Japanese.
      Most tourists who come to Japan speak to Japanese people in English or try to converse with them in English "as if it were natural" without showing "any offence or hesitation". We Japanese people don't say anything outwardly, but we are disgusted and resentful of this kind of attitude at the back of our minds.. It is extremely arrogant. And most travelers coming to Japan are unaware of this. So,we like and appreciate those who make an effort to at least speak Japanese, whether they actually speak it or not.

      @@pahoopahoo You know that English is universal language, right? This is why it is being taught in schools around the world.
      I hope you also know that a person can travel to 10 countries in 3 months and he/she isn't required to learn 10 new languages. They can just use English.
      I'm pretty sure most people try to learn basic phrases. And from what I've seen in a lot of videos, the tourists tend to speak easy English like "Can I get xxxx 1 please? How much? Do you have xxx?" and they use body language too.
      So for me I think it's cute when both sides try to communicate no matter in what language. I don't feel DISGUSTED by them at all like you said you do.
