So exciting to listen to this exchange! But humbling. I started my first painting before Covid and for 6 months I painted nearly every day from reading books. Then I went to the Plein Air convention and saw all these amazing artists and watched them. They seemed so far beyond me that I just locked up. I was embarrassed with my efforts. I am coming out of that a bit but I want what is in my head to be indicated on a canvas. And it just seems impossible. Maybe it is because I didn’t start until age 65.
Once again a wonderfuf inspiring dialogue! don't worry about repeating things! What is profound can be repeated without risk! as the poet René Char said "The essential is constantly threatened by the insignificant" So thank you for inviting Joe Paquet a second time... I'm waiting for the third! I can say the same about Bill Anton... Scott Christensen... Mark Boedges ... etc I am a french plein aire watercolorist... all those dialogue are inspiring
