Regarding parameters, the former URL parameters tool in GSC seemed to handle this situation. When that was taken away, we started seeing TONS of parameterized URLs showing up on SERPs and in our analytics from organic search (including URLs with advertising attribution parameters, which is especially fun). Now it's a problem????? When it went away Google told us they were able to figure out which parameters they could ignore, but....evidently not. Maybe just bring that tool back and let us take care of it ourselves? It was working.

A lot of sitemaps get these wrong (many always use "now" as the last change date), so it's a bit hit & miss. If you can do it right, then do it. If you can't set it properly, then it's better to submit the sitemap without dates (which is also fine).

Who determines the quality of content?
This is the funniest episode, lmao
John's on point with the jokes
You need to crawl before you can walk the walk!
Thank you too
So how Google bots honour sitemaps that contain the date of last modification in .... tags?
A lot of sitemaps get these wrong (many always use "now" as the last change date), so it's a bit hit & miss. If you can do it right, then do it. If you can't set it properly, then it's better to submit the sitemap without dates (which is also fine).
I love the personality switch between Gary and Lizzy. :-)
