Thank you for doing such a thorough review! I was considering buying this mask but seeing how much moisture builds up, and being that I live in Arizona, I think I'll pass.
Thank you for your kind comment. Regarding the moisture build-up, it's something that happens with every mask that has a valve. The problem with the Airinum mask is that the wet valves can touch your mouth, which is really unpleasant.
I think for hospital use it's best to stick with a medical grade mask/filter. Here is a link with a list of certified N95 masks: www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/n95list1.html
support.airinum.com/support/solutions/articles/9000118381-what-is-the-filter-efficiency-for-the-urban-air-mask- Here’s what I found :) hope you are well.
I appreciate your honest review. I was about to buy an Airinum mask, but I was wondering how much more effective it was for its high price tag. To me an Airinum is just an expensive designer version of a regular face mask with a filter that you can buy for much less. Paying up to $250 for a face mask is ridiculous which is why I now understand why Gwyneth Paltrow loves this mask (eye roll). I recommend sticking to a normal N95 mask if you can find one.
Yeah, I bought this, because you can use each filter for up to 100 hours. Most N95 masks are single-use only, but it also depends on what you use it for. I'm not sure though. Also most disposable masks are really flimsy and you can't use them more than 3-4 times, because the straps tend to break. The best N95 mask I have tried is definitely the Dräger one. Hahaha ... the Gwyneth Patrow comment cracked me up 😂
@Rami Daskeo When it comes to 5 star reviews, I always take it with a grain of salt. I have seen a lot of brands write fake reviews to boost sales and/or remove negative reviews. I'm always sceptical, especially when the reviews are too positive. I'm not saying that Airinum has fake reviews, but I don't blindly trust reviews.
Hi, the outer shell can be wash daily but how about the filter? Does it touches your face? hygiene wise, do you put that in the sun to be sanitize and reuse? Thanks
Since the filter can't be washed, you need to dry it ... ideally in the sun. Otherwise it starts smelling bad quite quickly, especially if you are using it every day. Also, please note that this mask is for protecting you against pollution only and not suitable for Covid due to the vents.
It's the Dräger X-plore® 1920 V FFP2 and I bought it on amazon last year. Unfortunately, it's sold out everywhere and the company is focusing its production to supply medical staff and essential workers only at the moment. There are some scam websites that claim to have these masks, so beware.
Thanks for your review. Was the mask air tight? I would like to know, since it's critical to have a good seal. It is expensive, and I can understand the moisture buildup, although I doubt that it comprises the safety. The valves might need regular cleaning, but that doesn't bother me. Thank you, and you look very pretty 🙂
The mask is pretty air tight (or at least as air tight as possible without feeling uncomfortable). The moisture build-up is normal, but what bothers me that the wet valves touch my mouth. Thank you for the compliment 🤗
Did you measure your face or looks at the weight before you ordered the masks? I measured my small child’s and it came out to size small, my middle child’s height and weight, the medium, and my teen child fell into the large size range. Is it possible that it was too small that’s why you could feel it against your mouth? Just a thought.
I measured my face and looked at the weight as well. But unfortunately, it was still too small for me. I tried out another mask in size M and had the same problem with the valves touching my mouth. Maybe it's because the shape of my face or my low nose bridge. 🤷
I haven't heard of them before, so I just had a look. My main concerns about this mask would be that since it is a stiff mask it might get uncomfortable to wear for a long period of time and maybe it would be difficult to talk with this mask without compromising the seal. Secondly the silicone might irritate the skin more easily, especially when it sits more tightly on the face and you wear it for a long time. This can potentially cause a rash. Lastly, they only have 2 sizes to choose from (low or high nose bridge) so I'm skeptical if it would really fit everyone's face. It's an intriguing product though :)
@@Britta thanks...yeah, i'm really reading and watching reviews about thses masks and hoping to purchase what is best especially in these times..and the price is not cheap between o2 and airinium. thanks again, take care
@@arrowhead1484 When it comes to face masks something with N95 or higher is recommended. But wearing a mask alone is not going to protect you 100% against the virus. But these masks are great against pollution. Here is a video I recommend watching: ua-cam.com/video/P27HRClMf2U/v-deo.html
Well I have a few medical silicone masks like o2 Canada, B2 mask, idMASK, Gill Mask, LMP mask etc and they are just fine. They don't irritate the skin and if you look through the reviews on their Facebook page, I don't remember seeing anybody mentioning about skin irritation. The good thing about these masks is the filter does not touch your face /mouth at all. I use them mainly for exercise so that the filter does not get wet. I do still use my Airinum, Cambridge Mask, Vogmask although I face the same issue as you. My mouth does touch the valves at times when breathing. The only similar mask that has a more rigid structure and does not touch my mouth when breathing is the AusAir mask. Check them out, they are very similar to the Airinum Mask. 😉
I'm not sure. It's not a bad mask though and the filter is great. The only issue that I have is the wet valves touching my face, but maybe I'm the only one with that problem because none of the other Airinum reviews mentioned this problem.
@@Britta Britta Well the one you measured and it didn't fit, you might have a reason for a refund. If it doesn't fit correctly, then its not fit for purpose. You had done your due diligence by checking the measurements before purchase. That was the rationale I was thinking of. :) I'm looking for a mask as I live in London too and will probably need to use public transport soon, so this was interesting to hear of your experiences and one I will factor into my research for a reasonably priced mask. As summer comes I expect humity and the heat isn't going to help us. There are so many masks on the market at the moment and the quality varies as does the value for money with the increased demand. I'm dubvious that many of these masks meet their claimed ratings (be that US, EU or Chinese) so probably safer to go with a known brand in that case. I wonder if you are able to provide any advise on verify the certification claims? I've really not found any information on that - I'm guessing that would be close to imposisble. I don't mind spending a little more but where it's blantant profiteering, no way! :) Thank you for replying, it's really welcomed (and rare - though I appreciate that becomes increasingly impossible as channel views grow) when content makers take their time to respond to some of the comments.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching my video 😃 I did eventually get a replacement in size M from Airinum, but it took a lot of arguing back and forth because they don’t usually accept returns or provide replacements, even though I measured my face exactly as described they were reluctant. On their website they explicitly stated ‘Our mask is a hygiene product and can normally not be returned, if you have opened the packaging.’ But you can contact their customer support and they will ‘help you out on a case-by-case basis’. I agree with you regarding the quality of the masks and I did a little bit of research and found this Index of approved N95 masks: www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/topics/respirators/disp_part/N95list1-a.html But this list is only for FDA approved surgical masks, so Airinum is not included. I will contact them though and ask if they can provide me with the certificates. As far as purchasing N95 masks goes, it will be difficult due to the current shortage and also because hospitals and other essential workers have priority to keep them safe.

I love my Airinum 2.0 mask and mine doesn’t touch my mouth at all! Best out there in my opinion!
Maybe I’ve got a different face shape, I have a large size and didn’t have any problem’s, I love my black Airinum mask 😷
That's possible. For how long do you usually wear your mask? I noticed that the valves start touching my face about an hour into wearing the mask.
